Well... The whole story from what I remember was the Raiders wanted him to have the 2nd surgery and he wanted to just rehab, but the rehab was not going well... So they released him. And now the NFLPA filed a grievance against the Raiders on his behalf. Still may need the 2nd surgery... Not sure though...

I thought he was done until the whole foot injury/2nd surgery thing was figured out?

It's a good point... Especially if you pin them...I think the FG was the play only because he's been so good all year, and for most of his career... I was actually shocked he missed it.

Honestly... I think the plan will be TJ Sanders and Landon Jackson...

I think they are going to lean on Jackson. I feel like they were redshirting him because they could and now they can't... I think they are mainly worried about his grasp on the D overall. Once that kid knows what he's doing, he's not going to hurt them at least... I'm not saying he'll be TJ Watt... But he can play... He's just mistake prone right now. He ran the wrong play (dropped into zone right next to the LB) vs NE when he had contain and that was the big long sideline pass to Diggs... He's just as fast as Maye...If he's where he should be that's probably a sack...Those things are killer mistakes...

I think it will be Landon to get the shot... At the end of the day, if we get to the SB it will greatly depend on how Beane's rookie class holds up on D... They just can't hurt us and they have to hold their own... So far it's been OK with Walker and now Max and Hancock... But now with Oliver and Hoecht out, looks like we're really going to need to see something from Jackson and Sanders by at least Week 13 and that last 6 game stretch...

Ya... We'll see I guess... It's just crap luck... That's all... McD all but called Landon Jackson by name in the presser saying even players who are not playing now have to be ready when asked about Hoecht's injury... I think few teams have the luxury of bringing in a young player in with Jackson's upside... And the one thing about Landon is, he's got a motor and he's not slow... Hopefully he's picked up some good stuff from Hoecht because the Bills want to rush a DE and mix it up on the inside on obvious passing downs, and I think Landon offers a lot more then Solomon... Just my opinion of course.

I get no one is going to feel bad for the 6-2 Bills with the MVP at QB and maybe the best RB in the NFL... But good grief losing Oliver and Hoecht for what looks like the season for both by week 9 is just brutal luck... Just brutal...
