Agreed... But realistically there is probably less than a 1% chance that Claiborne lasts till #10...Folks can come up with any scenarios they want to...But he's the #1 DB in the Draft by a bit...And he's 100 times the Prospect Joe Haden was...And Haden went #7 Overall in 2010... Just can't see Claiborne dropping to #10 overall whatsoever...

Exactly Bro...Thank You for saying what I failed to...

Negative Buzz from the Combine...
KOKBILLS replied to biggerdaddynj's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ouch! If that's true of course... -
Depends on who you ask I guess...His Team voted him an MVP and Defensive Player Of The Year for Memphis...So he must have been doing what the Coaches asked of him... He's a D-Lineman, not a QB...So his impact is based on what is asked of him in the scheme they run...Mayock said some real good things about him and compared him, at least in potential, to Ngata...I wonder how Poe would have done in a different system like Alabama or LSU where he would have been surrounded by top talent and Coaching?...He's the type of Prospect that makes The NFL Draft so interesting...Though I'd much rather gamble on a big, quick, powerful DT instead of a 5-10 SS...I think the Kid will do certain things well from the get-go, and in time could turn into a monster with the right Coaching...We'll see I guess...

I just randomly pulled up 3 Big Boards (CBS, Great Blue North, and FF Toolbox)...Kuechly Ranked 19th, 21st, and 15th on those Boards respectively...Not saying any of these Boards are great or anything like that...Just saying... It all depends on how The Bills project him (position-wise especially) of course, but I don't think he's a Top 10 Prospect, especially for Buffalo...I also don't see him as the OLB-type The Bills Need...And The Bills are already on record stating Shep will be the Starter in the middle...I think that really says something because they've been pretty vague about the rest so far...To me a Top 10 ILB has to be a physical force...and I don't see Kuechly as that type of Pro Player...No question I could be wrong about that in time...Mayock says he's the most instinctive LB in coverage he's ever seen...So I'm well aware he's a darn good Player...But Top 10? To Buffalo? We'll see I guess...But I just don't see it as a match right now... Exactly...

I am seeing Brockers on some peoples predictions

The comment was more about athletic, big, D-Linemen rather than size or Position specific...That being said Poe can move like most 280 lb D-linemen regardless... -
Seriously? How much have you seen of Poe? I'm not saying he's the next Mean Joe...But he came to the Combine with a 1st Round Grade on most Boards...That was due to his play on the field...Mayock compares him favorably to Ngata in size and overall ability...The comparison to Mamula is ill-informed... Really? You think we're good at DT? I don't know...Dareus is good...The rest is a big-fat question mark if you ask me...Granted it's not The Bills biggest Need...I'll give you that much...But if you can get a REAL difference maker I don't see why it's not a consideration...

I may have agreed with you before today John... Then I saw Poe run that 40 and I started to think about it...KW coming off an injury...The DT Depth Chart when Wanny was in Dallas...Maybe The Bills do consider a DT if the right one fall to them... No question DE, and OLB is a bigger Need, as is Pass Rush (though I think Our Pass Rush would improve with a healthy KW and Poe)...But a 3 Man Rotation of Dareus, Williams and Poe at DT would be pretty incredible...I don't know if Poe even makes it to #10 Overall...But if he does I want the Bills to at least consider it...It seems to me that's the type of Draft Pick The Giants would make...Keep Drafting great big athletes along the D-Line...It's hard to go wrong... -
Poe would do just fine inside in a 4 man Front...He and Dareus would make a REAL scary combination in time... I know we have KW who is a heck of a good DT when he's healthy...But Williams is an undersized DT...The Bills have a ton of Needs, and I'm not sure Poe will be around at #10 overall after what he did today...But I don't think there is any question he would be in the discussion for BPA at #10 Overall should he still be on the Board...With Poe, and assuming KW comes back healthy, The Bills would have a 3-man Rotation at DT that would rival ANY NFL Team...How long has it been since we could say that? Wanny's SB D in Dallas had Russell Maryland, Tony Casillas, Leon Lett, and Jimmy Jones at DT...The Bills have Darius with Williams and Troup both coming off serious injuries...Then it's guys like Kellen Heard and Spencer Johnson...Why would they not at least consider Poe? I'm not saying The Bills should Draft Poe...But I promise you there will be a discussion about it...And it will be a long one...
-
He won't be the BPA at #10...No matter how it falls... Not saying he's a bad Prospect or anything like that...But BPA at #10? No way...
-
Honestly I'm not surprised at all...I've been saying for a while now The Bills have a potential PR nightmare on the way if Stevie is not re-signed...It's a multi-layered dilemma for The Bills Brass...It's not only about Stevie, it's about what this Team has done over the past decade plus...It will get REAL ugly...
-
I think, especially at LT, arm-length becomes really important when a guy is beat by a half a step and needs to recover...Which happens a lot in the NFL...
-
I'm guessing you're kidding... Calvin Johnson is basically a once-in-a-lifetime-type Prospect...He showed up at The combine at 6-5-239 and ran a blistering 4.35 while having a 42 1/2" Vert, and a Broad Jump of 11'-7"...Yep, almost a 12' broad jump! Add to that he was clearly one of the best College WR's EVER...With a Condor-like wingspan, and great hands, Johnson is as good as it gets...When I hear Folks, heck even Buddy Nix, bring up his name while talking about Prospects or Needs I have to laugh...You can get the best WR in 10 out of 10 Drafts and still not get close to Calvin Johnson...IMHO He's just that good...
-
Obvious but 100% correct...The Bills need to retain Stevie AND add a stud at WR either through Free Agency or The Draft... Projecting a bit...But it's possible The Bills could have Stevie, a Draft Pick/UFA, Nelson, a healthy Easley (I know...fingers crossed and all), Jones, Hagen (who I thought looked REAL good at times and comes cheap), and Aiken in 2012...That's not bad... But losing Stevie would be a massive blow...The Bills can't afford to keep losing talent and plugging holes...It simply does not work...
-
From someone who watched a LOT of SC Games (I lived in Charlotte NC for most of Jeffrey's College days) you are 100% correct...The QB change all but killed Jeffrey's Jr year...Not that he does not have work to do...Because he does...But his upside is REAL high if he sticks to a Pro workout regimen, keeps his weight down, and works hard...The kid can absolutely snatch the ball out of the air and he played big in big SEC Games... I love Jeffrey's upside...For whatever reason I think he's going to figure it out and be special...I would love him more in the 2nd Round...But I doubt that's going to be a possibility...
-
WOW! Did he? Had not seen that yet... If he runs a sub 4.5 it's going to get REAL interesting!
-
All that may be true...But the question is simple...Who would you rather have running Chan's Offense? That's all... I was wondering the same thing...It's taking homer-ism to a never before seen level...Even around here...
-
Well then...Buh bye Stevie...
-
Oh...You were not joking? Okey doke...
-
Seriously dude...He was a Pro Bowl ALTERNATE on a Defense that literally has like 50 times the talent overall than The Bills D...One of the best, if not THE best D in the League...And you called him an ALL PRO right here in this thread...I mean...I'm guessing you know the difference between All Pro and Pro Bowl Alt right? Polamalu is an All Pro...Weddle is and All Pro...Ed Reed is a 2nd Team All Pro...Donte? Not so much...Not that he did not play better in San Fran than he did in Buffalo...Because he did...But to be honest that's not saying much... I'll take a healthy George Wilson or Jairus Byrd any day over Lil' Donte...Maybe that's just me, and that's fine!...If you think Donte is good on that outstanding San Fran D then IMHO you would not believe how good Byrd and Wilson would be...I think they're both better, smarter Safeties than Donte...Whitner is a bit more physical...That is when he actually gets there and is not taking a terrible angle... By all objective measures?...

With the 10th pick of the 2012 NFL draft, Buffalo picks...
KOKBILLS replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
100% agree...If The Bills were to Trade Down a bit and grab some extra Picks I could live with an Upshaw, Mercilous, or Ingram Pick in Round #1...But The Bills don't do that...And I don't see the value in Upshaw at #10 at all... -
I don't disagree about the Player...DeCastro is an excellent Prospect...But the Bills are not going to take an OG at #10 Overall...Period...End of story...

It's about money... It's always about money... Take that to the bank...Pun intended...

Great article by Tim Graham in B News
KOKBILLS replied to bananathumb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Regardless of Market stability (and I think The Bills are FAR more stable than a few NFL Markets), when I read this article my only thought was this is EXACTLY what I expect would be written about a Team that has not been to the Playoffs in over a decade...If The Bills were viable on the field, there would be far less to speculate about off it... That's just my opinion... -
JJ Watt is a beast!
