OFFICIAL BILLS vs TEBOWS GAMEDAY THREAD
KOKBILLS replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well... The Broncos are not exactly a Juggernaut Offense despite their #1 Ranking in Rushing...In 6 of the 9 Games with Tebow as a Starter they have scored 18, 10, 17, 17, 16, and 13 points... In a way I think an Offense like this makes it easier on The Bills...They don't have to think as much...And The Bills do have athletes on Defense...Plus it does not hurt that Tebow can be terrible throwing the ball at times... -
In about a half-a-heartbeat...
-
I 'd... But then I started to because I knew it was true ...
-
Agree 100%... And I already admitted I was wrong...In the Post above...
-
Well...Add to that they already had 2 Pro-Bowl caliber RB's on their Roster when they Drafted Spiller... But hey...Remember...Buddy said, "There's only one Spiller!!!!"
-
The only thing I'm sure of is that both of these Drafts will be better than what The Bills will actually do come April...
-
But The Bills have cash to burn under the Cap...What's their excuse? You know when the Bills cut Maybin, like 99.9% of all Bills Fans I agreed with the move...I was buying what The Bills were selling...Now, not so much...But for the life of me I can't understand why so many Bills Fans still justify the move after what they've seen...You can't hide the film...You can't take away what Maybin has done...No matter what Defense he's in he still got to the QB's and forced those fumbles...There's no denying it... I'm more than willing to say I was wrong...Maybin has a skill...It may only be a single skill, and it may fit The Jets better, but still it's a skill The Bills Defense desperately needs...And they had him...They Drafted him, they can easily afford him, and there was absolutely NO reason to cut him...Why did they cut him? To keep Batten or Eddins (who they cut shortly after and is now sitting on the PS despite injuries to Merriman and Kelsay)? It was clearly a stupid move...Granted hindsight is 20/20...But the bottom line is Maybin is contributing to a Division rival and had major contributions in one of The Bills losses this Season...And that makes it a terribly dumb move...
-
Well... Jason Taylor is OLD...That's why nobody wanted him...I think he wanted to play his last year in Miami anyway... This whole argument that Maybin sucks and he's only a decent Pass Rusher because he's on the Jets would be all fine and dandy IF The Bills had any...I mean ANY semblance of a Pass Rush whatsoever...It's one thing to let a former #11 overall pick go because he can't play all 3 downs...I get that...It's completely another thing to let him go when his one and only current NFL skill is exactly what your Defense lacks most...A FREAKING PASS RUSH!!! Chan Gailey hinted strongly to Tim Graham that Maybin was released do to a lack of talent...Now for those around here who have short memories, Maybin was drafted (and yes I understand it was the previous regime) to Rush the Passer first and foremost...Go back and read the comments from The Bills before that Draft...They were determined to get a PASS RUSHER...If they wanted a 3 down LB I promise each and everyone of you they would have taken Cushing...But instead they wanted a difference maker on 3rd Down coming off the edge...That is why they Drafted Maybin, and anyone who thinks differently is simply making crap up...Maybin had done it for only one year in College...He was the definition of a project...No matter how dumb you think Jauron and Modrak were, believe me, they knew Maybin was a HUGE projection as a 3-Down Player...Everyone under the sun knew it...But what Jauron saw was the ability to get after the QB off the edge...And Maybin had the best first step off the line that many of these scouts had seen in years...And sure they also figured in a few years he would fill out and be a more complete player...But in the meantime he was Drafted to do one thing and one thing only...Pass Rusher...Sound familiar? That's exactly what he's doing for The Jets...Only when Gailey and Nix came in did they up the expectations of Maybin...And he never got the Coaching necessary to be a decent Pass Rusher in Buffalo let alone a 3 Down OLB...What a joke... So sure Maybin is one dimensional...And yes The Jets are a better Defense than this bumbling bunch of misfits we've got...But the fact that the Bills could not get Maybin to do exactly what they Drafted him to do...Rush the Passer, and get 5-10 Sacks a year...speaks volumes about this Coaching Staff...And I'll take Maybin's Pass Rush skills any day on this current Bills Team...After all he's clearly a better Pass Rusher than any player we have currently...The fact that we cut this Kid is a complete and utter joke...Just like The Bills...I was fooled into thinking Gailey knew it all and Maybin had no talent...I know better now...The Bills have no Coaching talent...That's the real problem...

Yes...Yes it does...

An Optimist's View of the Bills Collapse
KOKBILLS replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wish I could agree... But this post could have easily been written in 2007...And here we are again...In fact we seem to be worse off...I have no faith in this bunch until they prove otherwise...But I'll be hoping they catch a clue sometime soon nonetheless... -
I think you're misunderstanding what he's saying...And I think his analogy is a bit off... Obviously the battered woman should leave the abusive husband...But none of us are leaving the Bills...If we were leaving, we would have done so a long, long time ago...But I think he was more or less referring to the idiotic defending of Ralph and this Organization as a whole that goes on around here...It's one thing to say "I'm a Fan and I'm going to support this Team no matter how dysfunctional they are." It's quite another to defend the dysfunction and try to make excuses for continuous results that drop far lower than mediocrity...
-
When I read that I honestly could not believe he said that...Considering for the 1st time in almost forever we have a TE that is not only contributing, but looks to be a keeper...Yes the Kid got hurt, but he plays hard and give 100% effort...And Ralph throws out this blanket statement? If I was Chandler I would be pretty pissed off at that comment... Just go Ralph...Get out...Let Our people go...These recent statements are pretty much the icing on the cake for me...I can just imagine what Season Ticket holders think about the "patience" comment...Oh boy!
-
The Bills are tied for 1st (with Tennessee) in Sacks allowed...If Fitz is jittery/excited he needs to find a new job...Because most NFL QB's are being pressured FAR more...
-
There is SO much wrong and unholy about the comparison between Fitz and Jimbo I can't even comment on the specifics... How dare you Sir...How dare you... Seriously though...I would not even go there...Kelly had a superior arm and a MUCH better supporting cast...I'm not sure I can even explain properly why Kelly was clearly a better QB...But he was...And Fitz can't hold Kelly's jock...Even on one of his better days...Now Fitz and Reich? That's a better comparison IMHO...

Current Roster better for a 4-3 or 3-4?
KOKBILLS replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look at the success opposing QB's have had against the Bills, even when healthy in the 1st Half of Games...To me at least...This speaks specifically to poor preparation and the inability to Game Plan from week to week...The Bills, even with all the injuries, are not the least talented Team in the NFL...Granted they are far from the most talented...Nonetheless... A Coaches Job is to get the most out of what he's given...That's why, to this point I've got nothing against Gailey...I think overall Gailey has done FAR more with mediocre talent, especially at the QB position...So I give him a pass...But Edwards cant get the job done in preparation...And he's got to go... -
I'd take Pierre-Paul, Anthony Davis, Iupati, Brian Bulaga, Maurkice Pouncey, all ahead of Spiller... BUT... I'd take Dez Bryant over all of them...Period...He's a HUGE play-maker...Remember, there was at least a few people who believed Bryant was a Top 5 talent...His Game transferred over from College and then some...He's a stud... Pass on Tebow for now...Maybe if he develops a bit of a Passing Game by this time next year he could enter the discussion...I would still rather have Bryant though...
-
I'm sure there was one...maybe even two guys on the Texans message board that said the same thing last year...
-
Agreed...But I'm starting to wonder exactly how far this Team can go building around Fitz...I don't question that they can be a Playoff Team with Fitz at QB if they improve Defensively, stay healthier, and get him WR and more O-Line help...And sure, if everything goes right, he can play lights-out and even win a Playoff Game...But I don't know if he's ever going to be the type of QB that can win 3-4 big Games to get you a SB Championship...And at the end of the day that's the goal (I know...baby steps and all)...I think Fitz is what he is...And it's going to take an exceptional amount of talent around him, and a quite a bit of luck to have a consistent winner while he is the starting QB... In a way, to me at least Fitz is like Flutie...He can take advantage of lesser Defenses and if you're not sound and disciplined he can have a huge day against you...But good Defenses that properly scheme...Defenses understand what he does well, and do whatever they can with discipline to take that away will shut Fitz down almost without exception...He's not bad at all...Just limited...And I would not plan a Franchise around him...For a year or two stop-gap fine...But not long term...Just my opinion...
-
I just looked this up and to be honest it almost freaked me out...Surely someone has posted this already...But if not... Fitz's numbers through 13 games in 2010 and 2011 are virtually identical 2010 255/441 57.8%, 3000 yds., 6.8 average, 23 TD's, 15 INT's, 81.8 rating 2011 278/449 61.9%, 3013 yds., 6.7 average, 20 TD's, 16 INT's, 81.6 rating Now I know there was a HUGE amount of conversation last summer about whether or not Fitz would continue to grow or regress...And I think the answer is...Neither...He's exactly the same QB as he was in 2010...He neither grew, nor regressed...And I'm guessing this is who he is...
-
I hear what you're saying...But I'd give up just about anything and the Kitchen sink for Luck...So I would not go as far as to say "under no circumstances."... No way Indy Trades the rights to Draft him...But if they did...
-
So? What's your point? And for the love of whatever, why is it some posters around here are more concerned about the Fans and what they think, and what they say, than they are about the gd Team?...I'll never figure that one out...ever... If you have an argument to support staying the course why not just give your side instead of worrying about what other Posters or fans think?...Posting about what all the Fans will or will not think or say comes off as fanboi-ish and reeks of over generalization... Just saying...

The bills have the worst defense I have ever seen
KOKBILLS replied to berndogg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I asked this in another thread...And it may be a bit of an exaggeration...But when is the last time an opposing QB threw an incompletion vs. this Bills D in the 1st half? It's freaking nuts! -
One thing is certain...No matter what he has to say he's gonna give that smug "we know what we're doing" attitude I've grown to despise...I understand 100% now why it took him so long to become an NFL GM...
