  1. Very cool...Thanks for that!
  2. Agreed...Byrd and Wilson are actually viewed as decent on a Defense that got virtually NO Pass Rush in 2011...I'm interested to see how much better they do with the new line-up... Bigger Needs elsewhere...And SS at #10?...No thanks...
  3. I think Fleener might sneak in...Especially to The Giants at #32...
  4. Well...No... But to be fair JP was a QB, and Barron/Whitner are Strong Safeties...And at this time in 2006 there were some teams, like the Bills, who felt Whitner was the next coming as well...I think Barron is a better player coming out...But he's a SS...And I don't believe in Drafting SS's high...Especially SS's who don't project well to FS in the NFL...Whitner only helps that argument...But I hear what you're saying...I would take an Eric Berry type S at #10 Overall in this Draft if that helps...
  5. Maybe so...But I thought that comment was more directed at everybody and their mother projecting Reiff to The Bills...We'll see soon enough I guess...
  6. He was 6-3-242 at the Combine...
  7. I watched at least 50% of Barron's tape...I'm an Alabama tape junkie...He's a VERY good College player...Especially last year and 09... I still don't think it's a smart pick for The Bills at this time...He's an NFL SS...I know he looks to be this Field General FS type in Alabama...But I don't feel he is going to project that way into the NFL...I think he's MUCH more of a downhill, in-the-box-type SS...Not that he can't drop...But I don't think he's going to be elite, or great, in that area in the NFL...I think his cap will be an Adrian Wilson type SS...Which is very good don't get me wrong, and probably even worthy of #10 overall...But I don't think it's (SS) a big enough need right now, and the Bills have HUGE needs elsewhere...For Barron to play as a Rookie, The Bills are going to have to sit a good Player, and Team Leader, in Wilson...Plus he leapfrogs Searcy who showed flashes as a Rookie...Who are they going to have to sit if the Pick is Kuechly, Floyd, Gilmore, or Glenn? They're trying to build a Team, not collect talent (got that one from Mike Lombardi...he got it from Bill Belichick)... Anyway...If the Pick is Barron so be it...But I'm not going to be too happy about a Top 10 SS...They said great things about Whitner too...Not saying Barron is Whitner...Just saying... If it's B
  8. Meh...I don't like it... Value chart or not...Especially since they Drafted Reiff, who I don't like for The Bills at all...Maybe if they took Glenn...I don't know...I just think if you Trade with a Team in your Division you need to make them bleed...A 3rd, 5th, and 6th is just not enough for me...
  9. Trading down 6 slots with a Division Rival to pick up an extra 3rd, and two late round picks? And then Draft a guy they seemingly don't want anyway in Reiff? Whatever...No way I do that Trade for anything less than #16 and #47...It's a bad deal IMHO...
  10. Not in 100 million years...
  11. Well...The Steelers and Ravens are both 3-4 Teams...So it's at least a lot more possible than Burfict making it in Buffalo as a SLOW OLB in an NFL 4-3...The Ravens would actually be a GREAT place for that Kid to land...Ray Lewis would keep him steady...
  12. That's a REAL interesting theory considering this fact...Of the Top 20 NFL Tacklers in 2011 only 2 were Safeties (one in the Top 10 - Antoine Bethea was 9th) and the rest were LB's...In fact, of the Top 30 NFL Tackle machines only 5 were Safeties, one of them was George Wilson (tied for 25th), and the rest again...LB's...So...
  13. It's a nice dream...That's for sure...
  14. The Jags and Panthers have high Draft Picks at LT...Jordan Gross is a leader on that Panthers Team...Eugene Monroe was a HIGH 1st Rd. Pick in J-Ville...The Jags could use help at RT I guess, but they need help on Defense more...I don't know about those 2 Teams... The Bucs have Donald Penn who was a Pro-Bowl alternate...And they will not pass on Trent Richardson if he's there... The Rams have Saffold and REALLY want a WR...But I could see St Louis taking Kalil if Blackmon is gone, and they don't like Floyd enough... So anyway...I'm definitely not saying Kalil will fall because I doubt it...But it's not a lock any of those 4 teams takes him either...
  15. Some Scouting Reports are better than others on Kuechly...I know Mayock loves the Kid...But Mayock went to BC...Then I read some of PFW's Report on him...Makes me wonder if you can really go wrong with this Kid...I know the perception about him being a high-motor, 10 yards downfield tackling machine...But good greif some Scouts RAVE about Kuechly... A couple quotes fro the PFW Report... "Exceptional football character and makeup — smart, hardworking and has a passion for the game. Lives, breathes and sleeps football. Was described as the type of guy executives would want their daughter to marry during the interview process and as one of the best interviews in the past decade." "One of the safest picks in this year’s draft, the Butkus Award winner is capable of playing any LB position and will anchor a defense for the next 12 years and become a perennial Pro Bowl player. Compares very favorably to Vikings 2006 18th overall pick Chad Greenway, but lack of arm length should keep him inside in a finesse 40 front in the pros. A can’t-miss selection who will challenge the NFL’s all-time tackle records." PFW On Kuechly
  16. Thanks Astro! That was cool...
  17. Unless... If Minnesota takes Claiborne, then Cleveland takes Blackmon...Tampa will take Richardson...Then it's St Louis...Let's say St. Louis takes Floyd...The Jags have a LT, Miami has a LT, Carolina has a LT... It's a long, long shot...But...
  18. Well OK...Casserly's one...That's one out of how many? And a lot of Folks have him between 15-20...I just don't see where he is a Top 10 Prospect, and it's almost 100% guarantee that there will be a higher rated guy at a need position at #10...If it's a smart-hard nosed football player were looking for, I'll take Kuechley over Barron...He's higher rated at a MUCH bigger need position... Like I said before...If SS was a big need, Barron was more versatile, or he was higher rated, I would be more comfortable with the chance of picking him...I just hope this is not Whitner/Ngata all over again if The Bills take Barron, and pass on someone at a greater need area...That's all I'm saying...
  19. So...Your theory is that George Wilson and Da'Norris Searcy were responsible for that 28th ranked run defense??? I'm kidding ya... Mario Williams, Kyle Williams, and Dave Wannstedt are going to have a bigger effect on that run defense than any Rookie SS could IMHO...But we'll see... I'm not saying that Barron would not help the run defense because I'm sure he would...How much more than Wilson and Searcy definitely remains to be seen...I just don't think he's an elite prospect worthy of #10 overall...maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think this Kid is the next coming of Polomalu or Lott...And I don't think it's a good idea to take a Safety at #10 unless the player is WAY more versatile than Barron...At Alabama Barron was surrounded by excellent talent, and almost no matter how good the competition was, the Tide was better...And Saban is a master at putting Defenders in place to hide their weaknesses and showcase their strengths...But this is the step up, the NFL...And Barron is a SS in the NFL...Again I'll conceded the fact that he'll likely be a good SS...But I don't see how that alone is worthy of #10 overall...Especially with The Bills MANY other needs... What I think many of you that keep saying picking Barron would be a good move are simply ignoring is the fact that nobody, at least nobody I can find, feels this Kid is a Top 10 prospect...Not one...CBS.com, Pro Football Weekly, Great Blue North, Draft Nasty, FFToolbox, Walter Football, DraftTek, Scouts Inc (well...they do have him at 11 now...But McShay is probably the Scout I respect least of all), The Sporting News, Draft Countdown, Footballs Future...OK I quit looking...I think you get the point... Add to all this you've got a player coming off double hernia surgery...A SS at #10? No thanks...But if The Bills do pick him I'll have to hope for the best...
  20. I'll just agree to disagree here... I do agree Barron likely is a better Prospect than Whitner...But I don't think that means much...And sure Alabama is a better School now than OSU, but how about 6 years ago? No matter though...I'll never be in favor of taking a Strong Safety this high..And I don't think Barron is the type that can move around much in the NFL...I don't think he's a high cover Safety who can cap the top of a Defense...I admit he should be a good in-the-box SS, and may very well be one of the better one's in the NFL in a few years...But you can get those guys later on...The Bills don't need a Safety right now, and they still need to get better in other areas...I mean they REALLY need to get better in other areas...I could see if Barron was CLEARLY the best player available at #10 how some could argue for the Pick, but I don't think there is any way that is going to be the case...And to top it all off you're talking about a Kid who's had some injury issues... And then there's this...Not saying it's a deal-breaker...But still...Barron trouble I would not be happy with this pick...I think it would be a terrible decision...But of course I would hope for the best...Like I did with Whitner...
  21. Haha! Fair enough...
