  1. While I don't disagree with what you're saying...A 25 year old man like Stevie (and I'll let you fill in the many blanks there) simply does not, and will not, look at it that way...That's the new generation of this type of athlete...Stevie said it himself...He was just having fun...And I've heard plenty of responses from Kids his age who agree it's just goofing...Just having some fun...No biggie... Forget about the fact that The Jets had cremated the Bills 3 Games in a row and at the time of the celebration the Bills had a lousy TD lead in the 2nd Quarter...Forget that it was classless (The crashing Jet thing was not so bad...problem is you can't go to the ground on a celebration...The leg-shooting thing was embarrassingly classless IMHO...No matter how stupid Burress was shooting himself in the leg...Maybe it's something you joke with your buddy's about over a beer...as an end-zone celebration it was SO classless to me...) and it cost his Team a penalty...That matters not...It's just goofing...Having a laugh...Innocent...You know?... Ya...Me neither...But I'm old...
  2. I would start by recommending any Alabama or LSU Game...And most SEC Games...That's always a good start...Most of the time the announcers will tell you who the NFL Prospects are...In the case of the LSU and Alabama's Defenses, it's pretty much every player...
  3. Oh don't we know it Brother!!!
  4. I don't disagree with the premise of the argument where concentration and focus are concerned...But one thing I keep hearing that is driving me nuts...Exactly how much time is needed to work on, or spent "worrying," on an endzone celebration? 2-3 minutes maybe? It's the perception of a lack of focus that goes along with this, and it's warranted...But actually spending time worrying about a celebration is truthfully not a factor...It's the lack of concentration rather than too much planning or worrying...
  5. Agreed... I would not be in favor of a College DC whatsoever...It's a HUGE step up...And with Gailey's concentration on Offense The Bills are going to need and experienced NFL DC with a proven track record...Nolan or Spagnuolo would be my choice right now...
  6. Sullivan's point, and his thinking behind it, went beyond tweets...His feeling is Stevie is too caught up in the whole off-the-field life that it's effecting his play on the field and costing his team in key moments...So he thinks the Bills should demand that Stevie cut out the pubic distractions and grow-up...He said it all should be in writing in the new deal...He is in favor of re-signing Stevie... Not saying I agree or disagree...Just expanding on the thread...
  7. Seriously? The Bills have ZERO Pass Rush...NOTHING!!! I could care less if it was Pears or Maybin...He's got 5 Sacks and 3 FF in 8 Games...This Team is so desperate for Pass Rush...It's not even funny...Maybin's speed is going to beat mismatches throughout the NFL...By no means am I saying Maybin is all that...He is what he is...But what he is, as limited as it may be...The Bills could use that in the worst way right now...
  8. Too true... I was wondering yesterday while watching Maybin cause so much havoc on Passing Downs that The Bills finally started to double-team him late in the Game...What was the REAL reason The Bills cut Maybin?...OK, we know the Kid is completely one-dimensional...Chan spoke about that often...But it's a dimension this Team has zero, notta, nothing at...And I wonder if the reason Maybin was cut outright had more to do with what he was going to be paid for that one dimension? I mean...From all accounts Maybin was a hard working, dedicated Kid who's teammates liked him...The move now has "Ralph" written all over it...Whether it was Ralph, or one of his cronies, the business model he set up...whatever...After seeing Maybin get 5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles in 8 games, is there really any question The Bills pushed him out the door prematurely? Especially considering this Teams inability to rush the freaking passer? Maybin is no different a player with The Jets...He's the same guy he was here...He's one-dimensional, skinny, whatever...But he CAN rush the passer...He's proving it...So maybe, just maybe, Ralph's business model disallowed paying #11 overall cash to a one-dimensional player? Maybe?
  9. This Defense had one of their better Games of the Season, and they still gave up 28 points along with a game winning 82 yard TD drive in the 4th Quarter... That should tell us all about the state of this Defense...Not the greatest talent in the league by a long-shot...But clearly the worst Coached Defense in the NFL by a country mile...
  10. How is the Game over there? If he does not catch that Pass it's 4th and 11 from the 36...The Jets can still try a 53 yard FG to tie, or they can go for it on 4th...And who really thinks this Defense would have stopped them on 4th Down? Yes Burress made a ridiculous catch on that Play...But knowing this Defense and this DC like I do...I knew somehow, someway, not only were the Jets going to score on that drive...They were going to score a TD...
  11. Honest to God I've been saying this for a while now right here...I've joked that the next time Spiller breaks a tackle it will be his first...He goes down SO quick to contact it's a little crazy...That's why I never see him being an every Down NFL back...ever...Good NFL backs are tackle-breaking machines...Think about all the tackles Freddie broke just this year! Spiller shows flashes...But that's about it...Only thing is, he can do a couple of thing VERY well...We need to forget about where he was Drafted and let Gailey figure out how he can make an impact on 5-10 plays a Game...Then he can back-up Freddie, or whoever when they go down or need a breather, return punts and kicks, etc... I don't want to see this turn into a Maybin thing where the kid is gone because he can't live up to where he was Drafted...If we had Defensive Coaches worth a crap Maybin would be in Buffalo doing exactly what he does in NY and no more...And The Bills need Pass rush like we need air to breathe...So what if Maybin is half the player they thought they were Drafting...We need that half...The Bills need talent...period...So lets stop running talented Players off and start using their strengths, and hiding their weaknesses, by not putting them in situations to fail...
  12. If Spencer Johnson is an OLB I'm King of the freaking world...
  13. True he did in some... But there were HUGE red flags coming from the best of the best...Mike Mayock actually did a little segment on him the week leading up to the Draft where he stated Maybin was not worthy of a 1st Round Grade...On Draft Day, after the Bills picked him, Mayock said Maybin played at 230 at Penn St., and he did not know if Maybin could ever keep weight on in the NFL...He also said Maybin struggled vs. the Run in College, "so i know he's going struggle against the Run in the NFL...Is he only a one-down player?" So you're right...Draft Guides are not always the best place to look...Any idiot can write about the NFL Draft and sell rags with ratings when they have no clue...But a guy like Mayock could have REALLY helped The Bills over these years...REALLY, really helped...
  14. No I'm not...And it does not bother me that you would think I was because I can honestly say I've never agreed with anything you've written on this Board...ever...So...No offense...We just don't see eye to eye...
  15. I don't think anyone is delusional enough to call Moats "all-world." But can you say with confidence that the Bills Defensive Coaches have done anything to maximize the Kids potential? Because if you can, you're the only one on the planet earth outside of Edwards Staff that believes that...I doubt Gailey even believes it at this point...This is the worst defensive Coaching Staff in the NFL and it's headed by a guy who is completely over-matched in just about every facet... So if Moats, or any of the other 9 Front 7 Players added to this Defense in the last 2 years, is underachieving you can bet your life Coaching has something to do with it...It's pretty obvious actually...Edwards could not develop talent if his life depended on it...
  16. Why indeed? For me I guess it's the fact that I personally love misery and strive for it in every facet of my life...That's why I chose The Buffalo Bills as my Team 40 some-odd years ago...I knew they would deliver on the heartache I craved!
  17. Can't really argue with that take...The only thing I would say is that no question the Offense has been in a tailspin, but once this Team gets down by 3 TD's early vs. decent Defenses they don't exactly have much of a chance...So they press and suck even more...Still they, and Fitz, have pretty much stunk-it-up too no question... And I'm definitely not saying we'll be a SB caliber Team by only adding a new DC...My point is he's SO incredibly bad it's easy to figure out what needs to be step #1 in a several step plan...The Offensive improvements need to be at least 50% of that overall plan no question...But please start with Edwards...In fact he should already be gone...
  18. It's really sad...But I agree 100%! While there is no greater need than pass rush on this Team, why do it if this Defensive Staff is still in place? It's useless...Unless you're going to get a guy like Peppers or Ware who can walk onto the field and dominate, there's going to be a need for development. Edwards and these Defensive Coaches have completely failed in the area of putting a Rookie or young player, in situations they can flourish while hiding their weaknesses...Since Nix has come they have added Troup, Carrington, Moats, Batten, Dareus, Williams, Shep, Searcy, Chris White, and Justin Rogers through the Draft...Not to mention Antonio Coleman and Kellen Heard through Free Agency...Outside of a glimmer every now-and-again from Dareus, Moats, Searcy, and Shep, these youngsters look mostly lost and over-matched week in and week out... That's 9 Prospects in the front 7 alone! And this Team gets little to no push, misses tackles, assignments, etc...They are a HUGE part of a Defense that is mostly a welcome mat to be walked all over by any NFL Offense that does not have half their roster on IR, and/or John Beck at QB... It's a joke...And I'm NOT saying this Team has Top 5 or even Top 10 talent on Defense...But they sure as heck should have Top 20 with all these young additions...If it's not Edwards and his Staff, lets face the facts, it HAS to be that Buddy Nix is the problem....That's an awful lot of young talent that is doing next to nothing...If it's not Coaching, then what? We better hope it's Coaching...Or more than half of The Bills Defense has got to be turned over...AGAIN!
  19. I'm not looking to bash Fitz at all...But "most" of those INT's were not deflections...A couple were, and still more were ill-advised Passes...The one that was the most catchable was the Nelson INT last week...That ball should have been caught...Problem was it was 2 yards short of the 1st down anyway... Let's not get carried away here...Fitz is as much to blame as any single player for the Bills slide...And I'm not in favor of getting rid of the guy or anything like that...The only person more responsible for the Bills woes than any single Player is that idiot DC Edwards...But I'm not going to glorify Fitz here...He's played poorly, and I'll bet you he'll be the first one to tell you that...
  20. I like Gailey long term...I'm not much of a Nix guy...To be perfectly honest he rubs me the wrong way...And I think outside of a no-brainer Pick at #3 overall he's done little to stop the bleeding...Despite his smug, "we know what we're doing" attitude... But that aside I'm not in favor of canning Nix either...But Edwards MUST go...I've never seen a DC in over his head more than Edwards...And I've been rabidly following this Sport for over 40 years...That guy is the biggest joke of a DC I've ever seen...I'm not kidding about that...He's that bad...
  21. Well... Freddie is a huge blow...But that came AFTER a 3 Game stretch that killed the Season...And I'll grant you the injuries along the O-Line and to Kyle Williams have been tough...But this is the same thing we hear every year from this Team...They continue to Draft and TRY to build Depth...But it never seems to happen...This Team can't develop Depth, especially on Defense... Personally I think trying to build a Team with George Edwards as the DC is 100 times more damaging than the injuries have been...The Bills are never going to win consistently with that idiot running the Defense...He can't develop a decent College Prospect to save his life...Even studs like Dareus look FAR too average at times...The CB's have regressed under his watch...It's a mess on that side of the ball, and that's effecting everything...
