Exactly what I was thinking...I'm confused...
-
Hey I like Woody as much as anybody...But he's also yet to make a Pro Bowl, and oft-injured...So I would not exactly call that a Home Run move either... And it was Levitre that we Traded up for in the 2nd Round...Woody was the Pick we got from Philly for Peters...But who's counting... But thanks for playing nonetheless...Nothing like the devil's advocate for the sake of devil advocacy alone...Anyway...

I don't know...Maybe it's just the twitching I get every time I think about John McCargo and JP Losman...But I'm not too keen on the Trade back into the late 1st strategy...At least not for the Bills...I'm not interested in flirting with that 3rd strike... But I am almost always in favor of a Trade down...Especially this year when I think you can get a prospect like Glenn, or Gilmore, while still picking up a extra Pick...

Tomcat's 6th annual "gimme five" draft contest
KOKBILLS replied to The Tomcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1: Ryan Tannehill QB - Miami 2: Michael Floyd WR - Buffalo 3: Courtney Upshaw OLB - NY Jets 4: David DeCastro G - Seattle 5: Luke Kuechly LB - KC Chiefs -
My mind is telling me it's gonna be Floyd...My gut is telling me somehow, someway (Trade Down?), it's gonna be Cordy Glenn... Both are likely wrong...

Why Stephen Hill WILL be the pick at number 10.

Seriously? As a freshman in 2004, Johnson was named first-team All-ACC...As a Soph he was 1st Team All-American, and a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist...In his Jr year Johnson had 1200 yds and 15 TDS...He was a Consensus All-American, won the Biletnikoff, and I remember at least a couple Scouts saying he was the best prospect WR ever...Like...in...forever... Pretty incredible resume coming out...That's why I cringe when I hear comparisons to players like Johnson...He's one-of-a-kind... Just saying... -
Exactly what I was going to say... It would be a discussion if the Bills were going to Draft one of them, let alone all four...
-
I would not bet on that if I were you...It's at very least a 50/50 chance regardless of what we do in this Draft...It's a stretch to assume any of these Rookies will be able to beat out Hairston early in their career...We'll see though...

FWIW--another article on our draft needs...
KOKBILLS replied to biggerdaddynj's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Perry's going to go a LOT higher than RD3...Low 1st or high 2nd...There are some Teams that are REAL high on him...I know he's been the subject of talk on "Path To The Draft" quite a bit, and several of them have him in their 1st Round Mock...That means Teams are talking to them about Perry...That's how Lombardi, Casserly, and Davis operate...They take what their sources are giving them, then they go and watch some tape, or call others...It's thought that Perry may end up being one of the best Pass Rushers in this Draft...By some at least...I'm not saying he's going to be great or anything like that...Just saying he's getting a lot of attention as a 3-4 OLB, and a 4-3 DE because he does have Pass Rush capabilities, he's real young, and has a nice upside...That's enough to elevate Perry a bit...I would not be surprised to see him over-drafted a bit based purely on potential... -

I don't disagree... When I look at these OT Prospects...well...I've pretty much said all along I'm not sure any of them is worthy of #10 overall...I do however feel Kuechly is worthy...I feel Floyd, baggage and all, is worthy as well...But Kuechly may very well be the safest pick at #10...And I think he would have a BIG impact on this Defense no matter where he plays in it... I think it will be Floyd if he's there...If The Bills go OT at #10 I'm hoping it's Glenn due to his upside...But if not I would have no problem hearing Kuechly's name called...None at all...

Agreed 100% on Glenn...Thing is, I REALLY doubt he's going to be 345 for long in the NFL...He's a massive dude...A mauler...He'll be massive at 315-325, only quicker...I definitely think that extra 20-35 is slowing him down a bit...But he ran 5.15 at 345...So think how much quicker he'll be when he's in NFL shape... I absolutely think Glenn is Buddy's kind of guy...Whether or not he thinks Glenn is worthy of #10 overall I'm not so sure...We'll see I guess... I'm thinking Martin is a Mid 2nd Round guy at best...He's got some issues...Not big and strong enough...Super smart...But he's kind of a tweener who is going to need at least a full year of NFL conditioning...I wonder if, down the road, he'll be better off moving inside to C...

I would approve of this Draft 100%!!! But we'll see...

Well...I know one thing...IF The Bills pick Glenn at #10 they will be 100% sure he can play LT in their Offense...If they are not sure, they won't pick Glenn... I'm interested though...Do you see him as only an NFL Guard based on his play at LT as a Sr?...Because I find it hard to believe anyone can watch that LSU tape and feel Glenn does not have a shot to play LT in the NFL...I mean...How does a guy get voted 1st Team All-SEC as a LT, by the Coaches and the AP, and he has no chance at playing LT in the NFL? It really does not make sense to me at all...And I admit I could be wrong...But still... I'm looking at Glenn like this...He's huge...He has long arms and excellent strength...He can be a mauler...He's just a really big dude who can move (5.15 40 at Indy)...In fact some Scouts have commented on how amazingly well Glenn does on the second level for a man his size...He can get out there...Now...I know some don't feel he has the feet to be an NFL LT...But he certainly had the ability in College...He played at around 340 as a Sr and weight 345 at the Combine...Admittedly, I think that's a little heavy and it's my opinion that is what kept him from dominating at LT the way he did at OG when he was younger and lighter...He'll have to slim down a bit...With that should come added quickness because Glenn IS athletic...I think there are things that are coach-able, and train-able that give Glenn a bit more upside than most OT's in this Draft...Certainly more than Reiff, Adams, or Martin...Glenn is battle tested and never missed a start due to injury in 4 years....The Kid started 50 Games in College...I think he's being over-scouted the same way Chris Hairston was...I think he has big-time upside... And Massie? Better than Glenn? I know he's been flying up some boards, but you know he never played LT right?...I don't see it...I'd MUCH rather have Glenn's upside...We'll see though...There are some massive differences in Scouting Reports out there...The National Football Post has Massie as the 177th overall Prospect...But he is rated between a 2nd and 3rd Round Prospect on most boards...

I hear ya... It's not like Lombardi and Casserly have not watched Film, or don't now...I get the feeling they both do a bit...Casserly more than Lombardi...Of course Mayock watches more than both of them combined, and he came out against Glenn yesterday...So...Like I said, I'm surprised because the Kid looks awfully good to me in the Games I watched...I still have no problem with Glenn...I think his upside is as good as any of these O-Linemen not named Kalil...We'll see I guess...
-
I hear Ya! But 2 more talking heads on NFL.com lined up against Glenn today...Lombardi and Casserly both said Glenn should be the last one chosen between Adams, Konz, and Glenn...AFTER the C!!! Both Lombardi and Casserly said Glenn does not have the feet to play LT...Lombardi flat out said he's not a LT, and may not be a RT...Then he said he's may not even be a great G!!! I mean...They were KILLING Cordy Glenn...The day after Mayock KILLED Cordy Glenn...I know what I see with my own 2 eyes...And I LOVE Glenn...I REALLY don't like Reiff, and they ALL seem to feel Reiff should be the 2nd O-Lineman taken...Lombardi and Casserly both say Reiff may not be a LT, but they would make him prove it... I do understand Glenn may have been a little heavy last year, and he does look a little awkward at times...He's not a natural knee bender...I get that...But even with that he's just a mauler, and makes it look easy...When Glenn gets the Coaching and Conditioning he needs, I think his upside is light years ahead of Reiff...But no question...I'm questioning myself now... I don't know what to think anymore...
-
So-so? Depends on who you ask I guess... Named All-America Third Team by Associated Press, and Honorable Mention by Sports Illustrated … First Team All-SEC by Associated Press, ESPN.com, and SEC Coaches… Keep in mind Glenn started 50 Games in his Georgia career and NEVER missed a Game due to injury...He was also an Offensive Captain... He's plenty athletic (5.15 40 @340 lbs...), and strong (31 reps @225)...He may very well be quicker and lighter on his feet if he drops a few lbs...I don't see any reason why he needs to be 340 lbs at LT...And if he's a little lighter it should help his explosiveness off the line... Anyway...Just me, but I don't see Glenn as a so-so prospect at all...I think he's go HUGE upside...And I think he's the exact-type LT prospect Buddy loves...

Again? This was debated a TON in 2010 I think...

Decastro at because no other picks would have his impact
KOKBILLS replied to 26TrapDraw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nor should he...This idea that DeCastro would have a bigger impact than other possible picks at #10 is ridiculous...First off he's never played a Down in the NFL...That goes without saying...Secondly, TEAMS win Super Bowls...Not O-Lines, D-Lines, Secondaries...etc...TEAMS...The Bills may be deeper from G to G than any other area...Are Wood, Levitre, Urbik, and Reinehart Pro-Bowlers? Not necessarily (Wood likely is if he plays 16 games)...Are they a solid unit that plays well together and executes well? Absolutely... The Bills have glaring needs elsewhere...They basically have no #2 WR...They are planning on starting Kirk Morrison at OLB...They need another CB...They need a swing OT for depth minimum, preferably someone to compete with Hairston for the starting LT spot...All these, and a couple more, come before OG...Heck even ex NFL OG Jamie Dukes says he would NEVER take an OG at the top of the Draft...And that's coming from an OG!!! Some positions are WAY tougher to fill...OG is at the bottom of the tough-to-fill list... It would not be a smart move for any Team to take an OG at #10 IMHO...I just don't think there is that much of a drop-off from a Pro-Bowl OG to a good, or very good one...But especially this year for The Bills...A year that they are trying to move into contention and fill out a winning Roster...It would be a HUGE mistake to waste that #10 overall pick on a lineman that can't play OT...A HUGE mistake... And PLEASE don't give me the Levitre can move out to OT for depth crap...He's not a LT...In emergency OK...But otherwise, not even close... -
I'd rather see Glenn and Jeffery if The Bills go WR in the 2nd... I like Sanu...But I don't think he's a high 2nd Round Prospect...I would be more comfortable with a CB in the 2nd, and Sanu in the 3rd... Agree 100%...Would LOVE to see Glenn and Jeffery in Buffalo...

Why I think we must go OT in the 1st round
KOKBILLS replied to seq004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for that! I do agree that Glenn most fits Buddy's tendencies...In many ways actually...All-SEC LT does not hurt either...
