  1. T.Johnson is an excellent tackler for his size but he’s not going to be too successful with trying to fight off blocks and making tackles on runners play after play. The absence of Milano, Poyer and Hyde really showed in this game. Also, what’s happened to the D-Line?
  2. Another reason I love my Golden St Warriors. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala have all been with the team for 10 years. Other drafted players have been there for a few years. The bottom of their roster may change from year to year but the core has been the same and they’ve won 4 titles.
  3. They should have had a table there and finish it with a Bills fan smashing it
  4. A playoff OT game where he seemed to carry the note of scoooooores as long as was humanly possible. Then there was a couple seconds of silence (catch his breath?).
  5. The Colts also have a couple RBs on their practice squad, including Philip Lindsey.
  6. You can make Wikipedia say that Mickey Mouse is president.
  7. Do you remember when there was an NHL player with the exact spelling of Heinz and he did wear #57?
  8. One of the funniest stories ever was about Roscoe Parrish seeing snow for the 1st time.
  9. It would be nice if Leslie Frazier called for a double team of Kelce. Not only do they not do that, they just let him run down the middle of the field.
  10. It would be interesting to find out if Brady and Gisele were already having problems (likely) or if it was his reversal on retirement. It also could’ve been the last straw. Regardless, the results don’t seem worth it.
  11. Yeah, I try to avoid RB/WRs on the same team unless they’re nobrainer all stars, which I guess both of them are. Niners have not been scoring as much so far.
  12. I was watching the UB Bulls game and Toledo had the ball hoping to get a TD to tie the game late. They got 2 quick first downs and the announcer says: ”Toledo just gained 30 yards in 2 plays and only 13 seconds” I laughed but it still brought up the bad memory.
  13. Ditto and Chandler#81 was taken. I’m not sure player uniforms were available to buy back then so I wish I would’ve ordered a custom jersey with his name and #.
  14. Living out west, I have a number of friends, family and acquaintances that are fans of other teams like the Niners, Rams, Raiders and several of them have recently commented to me that “your team is fun to watch”. Regarding the NFL as a whole, the two Thursday night games prior to yesterday were, unfortunately, not outliers. There have been a lot of bad NFL games this year. I’m an avid NFL fan, so even when the Bills aren’t playing on Sunday, I like to watch a couple games. Games with teams I used to enjoy watching like Green Bay, the Chargers, Rams, Raiders, even Dallas, are ugly to watch.
  15. I have E. Mitchell and then added J. Wilson when he got hurt. Time to check out the waiver wire. With McCaffrey’s injury history, I’m sure they’ll keep both Mitchell and Wilson, at least for this year, but they likely won’t get many touches.
  16. Yeah, Josh has done the work to get better. We also can’t undervalue Josh’s work with Jordan Palmer each offseason.
  17. It’s hard to win in the NFL.
  18. He should return to baseball, where all he’d have to do is some batting practice and fielding.
  19. I have to agree with you that the punting game does have an impact. It doesn’t seem that long ago that Brian Moorman became the first NFL punter to have a Net Average of 40.0+ yards. Now just about all of the punters do. It’s been only 6 weeks but I don’t recall a punter averaging about 55 yards per punt, like Stonehouse is. Townsend also has near a 50 yard Net Avg. That’s really flipping the field.
  20. There are many factors like reduced practiced times & practice with pads, teams not using star players in preseason games, and vanilla game plans in preseason games. With the latter, schemes and plays are only tested in practice until the regular season games. The main factor may be the 2 deep zone. Teams aren’t getting as many big pass plays vs this defensive scheme. They have to “matriculate” down the field on long drives with lots of check downs and other short passes, which takes a lot of time off the clock. We’ve seen the Bills have several 8 and 9 minute drives. Those are huge chunks of a 60 minute game. When those long drives don’t result in touchdowns (Ex: Miami game), scores are going to be lower. So, will the NFL now create new rules to increase scoring? Maybe force the safeties to be within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage until the ball is snapped? Any violation is a defensive illegal formation penalty. We shall see. Remember that the NBA banned zone defenses, college basketball established a shot clock and the NHL banned the NJ Devils trap defense in attempts to create more scoring. Now, MLB is talking about banning shifts.
  21. And to add insult to injury, Josh gets “credited” with the fumble? I don’t care about McKenzie’s explanation. He needed to be alert and ready for anything.
  22. Yeah, but he can’t be out of control like he was on two plays yesterday. Turning your back to a defender in an attempt to gain another yard is not a good decision. Hurdling over a defender to end up out of control is not a smart move. Fun to watch but not smart.
  23. How can everyone let that go when they gave us a deja vu moment before halftime? I thought I was dreaming a nightmare. At least they squib kicked this time to leave only 12 seconds on the clock. Just like the playoff game, they take a timeout on defense after the Chiefs line up. Just like the playoff game, they have everyone playing back and a quick pass to a speedy receiver gains about 20 yards. Just like the playoff game, they don’t man up, (much less double team, Kelce and he again runs straight between defenders to pick up another 10 or so yards. This again leads to a game tieing FG. Watching that, it looked like they didn’t learn anything from that debacle in the playoff game. Other than the squib kick, they played it all the same with the same results. Thank goodness for Von Miller’s pressure and Taron Johnson’s aggressiveness to get that interception or we may have seen the same game result.
  24. The Miami coaches and players had no influence on the stadium being configured that way. I railed against this after the Bills played there, but you can’t really blame those that decided to set it up this way, with the home team in the shade. Baseball teams do this also with the placement of the dugouts, although those players have some cover and they can sit. As you mentioned, the real issue is player safety being disregarded with respect to protection from the elements, in this case being the heat and humidity. Nobody should be forced to endure 120 degree temps without some protection.
  25. And he was aggressive in going for the ball and tearing it away from the receiver.
