  1. The thread title is not in the subjunctive (not in the conditional if X then Y). It's a simple declarative sentence Beasley flipping out at McDermott. Here follows the OP. "I got back late last night so didn't see game thread or re-watch the game so not sure if it was discussed...... But after a 3rd down pass to Beasley went incomplete he ran off the field screaming at McDermott and throwing his hand at him in frustration. McDermott was walking briskly in his direction like he wanted to kick his ass....... but at the last second appeared to be pretending to not notice him. Someone on staff spun Beasley by the shoulder and escorted him to the bench area. Beasley was pacing around audibly yelling "I'm done, I'm done". Did you guys see this on the broadcast? Was it discussed in the postgame? The entire narrative is one of eyewitness report. The ask for corroboration is quickly followed by an editorial. I guess that's probably just 2021 Beasley being 2021(in 2022) Beasley but it was noteworthy. I'd say it's more than neutral reporting. The slant has had predictable divisiveness along predictable lines.
  2. I think this would have come up as a topic of discussion in the media class if it was an actual event, especially given Antonio Brown's recent meltdown, so I am skeptical.
  3. You need to be able to run, but it's a passing league. The best qbs usually win the big games.
  4. I'm old. When I was a kid back in the seventies, Vikes were my B team because, you know, we never made the playoffs. Tarkenton Vikings and Bills are combined 0 - 8 in SB, so perfect. But yes, Bears are a solid choice as well.
  5. Even then, you probably have to trade up, but it might be close enough to think about. (I don't think he'll run poorly, though.)
  6. We should win. We're the better team. It's just that the anguish of losing to the Pats* in a year of SB expectations is such a horrific thought one can hardly bear to think about it.
  7. Too bad the Vikings fired their GM. I think he did a fine job and if you have a GM in place, you're in better position to hire a coach quickly.
  8. I'd like to see him land the Vikings job. There's a lot of talent on that team (and its NFC).
  9. I think he gets a HC gig.
  10. Yes, I started out thinking Chargers having to make the trip East and their dope coach who goes for it on fourth down in ridiculous contexts, but as the game went along, I thought, well, Chargers take dumb penalties and they make lots of mistakes, but Herbert erases a lot of them.
  11. Allen is usually very good on the qb sneak, but in that critical situation on the goal line, an RPO gives you more room to diagnose and choose the best option. It wasn't a great call.
  12. The face of a rat, the voice of Kermit. His bad throws are always someone else's fault.
  13. Some folks complain about the long ball, but if Josh can master that check down over the middle, the offense gets a lot harder to stop. To be honest, I've assumed Josh just didn't want to take it, but difficulty completing the pass may account for some resistance to throw it.
  14. I think the concern is you seem to be penalizing the winning team so that they lose a day of preparation for the next game.
  15. I don't know, but it sure seems like a good idea. Hopefully he's the sort that can handle both duties.
  16. I'm rather partial to Glenlivet, but I like your style of doctoring.
  17. Scots are very cautious folk . . . I believe the punter is known as the Scottish Hammer. The actual insurance element is having a punter on the practice squad in case you need to have a competent punter available should your starter suddenly become unavailable.
  18. I like the idea of using him as a slot receiver, but because of his high cap cost, I wouldn't offer a premium pick.
  19. I hear he's Scottish . . . it's a Covid insurance thing.
  20. Dome or not, I hope this happens.
  21. I like your posts Nanook, but it seems to me the recent home game against Pats* somehow turned out to be advantage black hats, though perhaps that was coaching. I think they held Allen back. Still think if you have an elite offense, optimum conditions favor your team. Also, the older I get, the less I like to freeze. Logic posted some designs that cut down on the wind, which is a fair compromise, though I take it you would be opposed to this as well.
  22. It's all about the playoffs. Bills have as good a chance as anyone and if they play their A game, they win.
  23. I guess there are still folks who watch the Academy Awards. Others write them off as a bunch of preening narcissists who collectively endorse the work of the like-minded. Anyway, a certain amount of subjectivity is allowed. There is a tilt point, however, after which merit wars with tribal allegiances and the whole thing becomes irrelevant except to those who are part of the clique. Objectively, I think Rodgers should get it as the success of the team is normally factored in.
