And I like Buddo. One of my favorite posters, but wrong here I think.

You're belligerent and like to mock folks who disagree with you. You've done this before. Josh Allen took a pounding to achieve the Bills' excellence on offense. Mahomes has an easier job because Hill and Kelce are playmakers of superior ability that constantly stress a defense. The Bills do not have that kind of firepower, though they have good players. They need to add someone that can stress a D on offense. That is the argument and it's not foolish, even if you think otherwise. @BADOLBILZ has made the case for spending high end draft picks on offense well. Go search his posts and try to think outside your rage.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to improve the defense. That certainly plays into McD's proclivities and our draft history. Nonetheless, coaching mistakes have occupied the majority of posts on 13 seconds. Best way to counter KC is to match them with playmakers on offense. We need to add a top end explosive WR to stress the opponents D even more and take some of the burden off of Allen.

You're probably right, but I feel kind of sick trying that experiment.

Correct, that's why I said retrovision 20/20. We know the tactic we chose didn't work. Of course this is an impossible hypothetical, I wasn't attempting to say otherwise. (I do think the counterhistory option shows aggression. Fortune really does often favor the bold.)
-
Given how gassed the D was, with 20/20 retrovision, we probably should have gone for two after the last TD. Four point lead likely safe and the risk/reward against a tired Chief's D flips the burden. If you miss, Bills play a much more aggressive D because they know a FG can beat them.

Upon further review...was Bass supposed to pop the kick up?
Dr. Who replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
If they execute him, we'll really know. -
He's from Melbourne . . . I hear they pronounce it Melbin, so rooting for the Aussie gal.

Betcha they listen now.

Hyperbole, though I admit I'm having a hard time with it. It will take a SB victory to heal this wound (and soon.)

The wife excuse . . . Lemon is unintelligent even for a citrus fruit. I think this game may lead to the NFL tweaking the OT rules for the playoffs.

Sullivan: Bills' McDermott choked away Super Bowl-caliber season
Dr. Who replied to QCity's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hey, a new member who isn't a troll. Nice post. -
Agree entirely. In my real life, I have enough existential issues to occupy anxiety/concern, but I found myself replaying all that as well. I'm sure at some point the vibrancy of the moment will fade, yet I am if anything more angry about the whole thing just now. It's not only that I'm getting older, I have family members who are over eighty. Part of the joy of a Bills' SB is thinking of the ability to share that with those who have been along for the ride longer than I've been alive. It's just heartbreaking to contemplate such a fantastic opportunity to win one -- and Josh was playing at the level to absolutely get it done. Why not just tackle Hill and Kelce right at the line of scrimmage? Two five yard interference penalties . . . what could the bastard Rat Face qb do about it? Now you're at the 35 with time for one more play. Maybe that's too simplistic. What's clear is the moment was too big for the coaches and they wasted time outs to put us in the position to play truly stupid football. I live near Athens, GA. I go to the supermarket wearing a Bills' themed face mask. Of all things, after the Colts' debacle, a woman from Buffalo comes up to me and starts talking about the game. "Disgraceful," was her one word summary. That's how I feel about this ****show of an ending to "one of the greatest playoff games ever." Well, you say that if you're a Chief's fan. Very little solace if you are the defeated. See below.

Mid game offense we had a number of just unfathomable play calls. We should have threatened them the whole game, instead of taking a few drives to involve Gilliam in the gameplan or whatever was going on there. I don't really blame the defense for much of the game, but those last 13 seconds are a failure of nerve and intellect.

Why All The Clean Releases For Kelce and Hill?
Dr. Who replied to Bleedbuffaloblue's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really? You don't think Kelce and Hill are given credit here? Despite their obvious talent, the way the last 13 seconds of regulation played out was certainly a coaching issue. -
No doubt it was a pathetic effort. They played scared like they thought the next play was going to be another pass to Hill taking it to the house.
-
Honestly, the minute they won the toss, the game was effectively over. I think if we had won it, we were scoring six. I was at my best friend's funeral when the Music City Miracle happened. Watched Norwood's wide right in a dorm room at UCLA. This is by far the most devastating loss I've ever experienced.

Honestly what do you do moving forward?
Dr. Who replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, I'm hoping someone hires him as HC so we get third round picks. Too bad someone didn't snag him after the Pats* game while his stock was higher. -

Truly kind of you to say, but I'm still rooting for the Bengals. -

1/23/22 Week 20 Divisional Playoffs Bills @ Chiefs PREGAME THREAD
Dr. Who replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Love the Kachina sweaters. Look, if rooting for the Sabres hasn't damaged my capacity to rationally assess the genuine ability of the Bills to win a SB this year, then you can't take refuge in the Yotes as an excuse for insufferable pessimism. -
I was shocked they didn't open the show with the interview with McDermott. I mean, what could take precedence?
