  1. Was talking about this recently with someone at work. Really don't understand why it's not called the Paul Brown trophy?? Lombardi was great, but for a rather small period of time. Paul Brown has changed the game over the years with innovation. Lombardi was more a bully than a motivator or innovator, but that was the in style back then. Everyone ate it up.
  2. Sure just like that! Couple things, every year, next years draft id the best QB draft ever. So they go 4-12, how do you know you're getting this franchise QB that you think is out there. I'm sure many scouts & front office folks were talking about what a great QB draft you had the year Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf went 1 and 2. The only other year came close was drew Bledsoe and Rick Mirer believe also went 1 and 2 It's all Whaleys fault for not finding that guy . If it was as easy as you and many others make it sound every team in the league would have a franchise QB! As others have said with the talent on the team and even a Brian Hoyer, the team could still win 6 or 7 games, and maybe draft again around #10. Though really even at #10 they have almost as much chance as any at findign that guy as more luck than anything.
  3. In all seriousness, could much of Rex's issues be attributed to his dyslexia? He's admitted that he suffers from it, maybe it effected him in ways he didn't realize, would cause him to spout off at the mouth much more than a normal person in that position would.
  4. Egorugwu, attended college at the football hotbed of William Jewell, so look out for him!! I C one coach is listed as an assistant QB coach, did we name an actual QB coach already, did I miss it.. Never mind, just saw the answer!
  5. Amazing, watching EPSN and on their bottom Crawler, one of their "big" stories. "Bills don't retain Kathryn Smith as coach" Nothing mentioned about the others, just her was let go according to the story. I get it, but still makes you shake your head!
  6. I think Chan ran a really complicated offense that took a Harvard grad at QB to understand. The problem was while his brain could handle it the arm couldn't. If he'd had an arm to go with that brain, likely Gailey would still be coaching here as we'd made some playoff trips.
  7. I wonder what the average income of Orchard Park would be if you excluded all the Bill's players. I'm sure still very high compared to the surrounding area, but wouldn't be surprised if it dropped $30 to $40k. I suppose if you're looking in the area and decide that Mario's house at $3.X mil is too steep could always "settle" for this one!
  8. Can't see it happening unless all 32 teams view him strictly as a RT as some team will come offering him LT type money and want to play him there. Also makes me a bit nervous taking a guy who's only played RT one season. Thought I had read the RT from Baltimore is also a FA this season?
  9. LOL!! So are you trying to convince others that the Bills are the only team in the league that cuts players? If the Bills let him go prior to March 3rd, they are cutting him, just like a hundred or more other players in the league will be cut by all 31 other teams. Many will be cut around that same time too for bonuses that kick in and their current team doesn't feel the yare worth paying. Sorry but this has to be one of the most ridiculous arguments I've seen!
  10. OK but then who would you be happy with? Typically every year there are two groups of potential coaches available, coaches like McDermott and Dennison who've never been HC or coordinators and teams will give them a shot. Or you have retreads like Rex, Chan Gailey, Marrone, and many other similar names who've failed elsewhere and the next team to hire them hope they will do much better. So your choice is a re-tread or someone who's likely never really run things. Sometimes the re-treads learn and improve, and some first time coaches do very well. IMO the number of re-treads that improve their 2nd time around is lower than the number of brand new coaches who succeed.
  11. Maybe they're going to pull a page out of the Rex playbook and bring in an asst. QB coach who does have experience at that position??
  12. I'd think by now either they plan to keep him or would have already given him his release.
  13. Is Kraft OK? Seems like all of a sudden he sounded very old, words came out a bit slurred?? No idea how old he is??
  14. So do you think he's never going to sign another contract?? Unless that's the case, then of course it's an issue.
  15. Maybe, but I think it was more a case of TP didn't want him to be the head honcho so his ego wouldn't allow him to take the job then so came up with this story. There also was speculation as to how him taking another job with any team could delay him getting into the hall. Maybe if he were to get job as GM, he's take that chance, but not to become the second in command reporting to the assistant ball boy. Wasn't worth it to him and could understand that.
  16. As stated below, maybe the problem was actually Rex?? Most of the leaks tended to make DW look bad, so then why would he leak anything. RB seems to be in DW's corner so doubt him. That just leaves Rex.
  17. Yeah I saw that too. Find it rather comical that people who post to message boards seem to think they are more knowledgeable than people who's careers depend on their knowledge and information about the sport. Since I admit not to be a technical expert in any way, I do wonder, could Kujo benefit from this and be able to handle RT position as maybe the alleged problem with his leg wouldn't matter as much??
  18. Agree that was around the number I came up with too that really worry me. The rest don't matter much. Granted 8 still may be more than other teams, but am willing to bet there are some teams out there who are losing less total players, but are potentially losing more impact ones. Well that's because they can see through the question and understand what the real issue is.
  19. Oh Please, you want to believe that story, fine. Here's mine, pure speculation, but then again it's really nothing more than speculation that he was ever even really offered a job and why he turned it down. I do think TP offered him a job, but more as a consultant/low powered czar. Next thing you're hearing how Bill P is planning to hire his son and bring back AJ Smith, at that point Terry told him no, I'd like to hire you to do this specifically, but you're not running the show. At that point, Bill P walked away with his tail between his legs, but publicly gave this "too heavy a lift" story to make his tail look much better. And since he's a media guy himself, works for ESPN, they all bought it up big time and helped sell it down the line. TP is a pretty private kind of guy so he wouldn't be the type to come out and tell anyone what really happened, he was fine with Bill P spinning his tale.
  20. I've written Kim a few letter, but she didn't answer mine. I did get a letter baring me from ever buying tickets again though???
  21. Yeah that would help alot, bring in a guy who's never coached a day in his life in the NFL!
  22. I recall him talking about how his brother Rob would always work late, sleep in his office, but Rex himself stated how he never did that
  23. Did he resign or contract ran out and didn't re-up? If actually quit, then Panther's would still hold his rights. I'm guessing more likely his contract expired and didn't elect to go back. Or did you really mean he re-signed with the Panthers in which we'd be out of luck?
  24. 5 years left him collecting pay checks while out for most games for various reasons. Yeah I can believe that!
