FA CB Deshawn Shead visiting Bills
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, you mean there's another team in fact a team that won a super Bowl recently that must have a front office as clueless as Buffalo does. That's amazing! -
The only blunder here is by you and many other weekend warriors who think you understand how to run a football team. When you start offering higher tenders for backups you'll be in salary trouble real fast. Did he play very well, yes, could he replace Woods, yes, but so can others. It's amazing how many are getting bent out of shape and blaming the Bills for losing a backup. Get a grip!

Bills FA options at Right Tackle
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly,. It amazes me how many people here can say Glenn won't care. Does anyone here actually think how things actually work in real life?? And many of these same people then rip the Bills FO. -
Dumb question, what is "BBMB"? And what happened to it?

t's hard to take someone very serious who has 25 posts to his name and starts a new topic on something that has been discussed many times prior. The first thing to come to mind is you're a troll, second thing is if legit, starting a thread like this just makes you look dumb and not a person to take serious and who deserves all the abuse you get. You come off as the guy walking into a new job and the first day starts telling everyone how to do their jobs better. (and not saying that to be nasty, just telling you how you appear to most others) This place should enact rules built into profile that all new members joining site can't post for at least 60 days and can't start new topics until they have at least 500 posts.

No just hate for people with agenda's who'll post on any topic being discussed and somehow relate it back the point they make in every post they make. I hate... (fill In the blank) Or they keep posting on the same topic with really nothing new to add except to try and further their agenda as you did.

You know it's funny. I started to read your response, got to the point I posted below and was thinking you were going to say next was that his outcome is better than average. But you went the other way. Everyone brings up his passing stats at being average at best which I don't disagree with. While that is true, I don't think it's purely coincidence that the Bills were one of the top rushing teams and top scoring teams and has nothing whatsoever to do with TT. He does bring certain intangibles to the position that can't be statistically measured but all the TT haters completely ignore that part. I'm not a TT lover or hater, just looking at it from the standpoint, they have a much better chance at getting worse without him than better. They can still draft a QB, just not a #10 and stick with TT

Greg Olsen's Brother Arrrested For Rape.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah was thinking about that, if the vote was still to come, I'm pretty certain he would have got even less votes than whatever total he did get. Kind of had an issue with his whole nomination. Don't recall the details, but he got into whatever charity it was because of his own sick child was effected, yes he went well beyond his own child, but comparing to Eli and Fitz, they did what they did just to do good. -
Worst current sports show?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah but that's the general model for all afternoon shows. Same model Shoop and the dope follow. -
I get it you hate DW, so you post some ridiculous dumb dribble to try and get people on the fire DW bandwagon. First off, if they do tank, do you honestly believe this was solely his idea, that he never mentioned this to either Terry P or McDermott and they are all shocked by this happening. Assume Terry P did buy into it, if that were the plan it would have been easier and much smarter to have fired DW right now when you hired a new coach. IMO Rex got fired after two seasons, not because of his record and no making the playoffs, but it was everything else about him, too many times either 10 or 12 men on the field, dumb penalties, constant bragging not even close to backed up, and many other similar things. I think a couple of things Terry learned from this past Rex episode is to let the footballs guys decide on the coach which appears to have happened this time. Barring a complete off the field meltdown similar to Rex, I'd be very surprised if McDermott isn't kept for at least 4 seasons regardless how well his record is or isn't as Terry doesn't like sudden change. In Rex's case there were some extenuating circumstances that made it happen much faster than he'd have liked. But unless some issue develops either between DW and Terry and again between DW and McDermott, I think DW would also last the four seasons with McDermott. Four years from now, then they both go, but anyone hoping to see DW go sooner will likely be disappointed.

Tom Brady, Hissing Cockroach

The only Mahomes thread you need
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This whole topic makes you wonder some how much real information is out there as to where teams value players. What Todd and Mel and everyone else in the media state means nothing. What do the teams really think and how much info is out there to get a good feel for what other teams plan to do. Back in 2013, supposedly the Eagles were going to pick Manual in the low 20's and that was part of the alleged reason DW didn't drop down lower. How much is really known where other teams value players?? -
Who is the next dynasty?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to TheFunPolice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as it pains me, that is also my thought. Many of their better players are at relatively less expensive positions, they have a few years to go before they'd have to pay big $$ for Dak and would be surprised if he ever gets to the point of commanding top QB $$'s. When Elliotts contract is up, can easily replace him with another rookie as RB is the easiest spot to throw a rookie into. -
No Holding Calls on the Pats?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Livinginthepast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mentioned to a couple of people, from the point where there was around 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter to the end of the game, the Falcons should have taken a page out of the Pats playbook and fake an injury every 3rd down or so to give their defense a rest. Watch the video of how the soccer players do it, flail your arms back and forth, roll over a few times, wait till the priest comes out and gives last rites, let them cart you off on the stretcher, then come back two plays later. I believe that's what really cost Atlanta the game, their defense was gassed. -
Hire Matt Patricia!!!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to ROONDOGG55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well the 31 owners would tend to disagree with you. The owners game Roger this power as did the NFLPA. The problem is in todays society no one will accept punishment for anything so the first time you're punished for anything you take it to court, where as 25 years ago people would have accepted it. And in most of these cases, there isn't enough evidence to hold up in court. Now you could argue that should be enough, accept my understanding is the NFLPA agreed to let Roger be the sole arbiter in these cases. So then after agreeing to this, they go to court. You mention Bountygate. Do you really believe the Saints did absolutely nothing wrong, or was there just not enough "legal proof" which again shouldn't matter since they gave the commissioners office this power. -
Hall of Fame finalists announced - TO in Final 15
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Spurna's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't disagree with many. I do recall at the time, there were those who had commented that Marv got elected due to his involvement with the media after he stopped coaching and that helped him get elected. Well Aikman's number compare pretty close with Warner as far as years played, and record, so guess you can argue if one made it in, both should be in. I've said for years it's too hard to get into the Baseball HOF and too easy to get into the Football HOF -

Can someone give me the names of a few players who could have played in the NFL, but instead voilunaraily chose the Arena League, NFL Europe, or even the Canadian league to play in, then I'll start considering Warners years in the Arena league towards his HOF credentials. Just Googled Kurt Warners Playing career and Professional career. In both cases no mention of Arena League years, just NFL The off field story had more to do with him getting voted in than what he did on the field in a somewhat short career. -

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Spurna's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So you're saying: He could have gone to the NFL, but voluntarily chose the Arena league or where ever it was before the NFL so we should count all those years? That he didn't end up the starter only after Trent Green blew out his ACL and when Vermeil cried in the press conference announcing Green was out for the year it was really tears of joy that now he could start Warner? A 12 year career which only six of the 12 season had a record of better than .500 and three times with three different teams being benched and replaced is HOF caliper?? He was inducted into the Arena League HOF BTW Not saying he absolutely doesn't belong in the HOF, but do think he's marginal career, likely the back story helped sway some votes his way. -

The only way he was forced was no NFL team wanted him, that's a far cry from forced to do anything. Not sure it was him that revitalized two teams as much as he was there at the right time when the team was able to bring in a large amount of talent. If I recall correctly, didn't he even start the season in St Louis as the backup but the starter got hurt (Trent Green was it), so Warner took over. Seem to recall everyone was mourning after they lost their starter and how a great team and season was now going to go downhill. But Warner led them to a SB win. My biggest grip about Warner is a very short NFL career. Yes I get that it's the "Pro" Football HOF not the NFL but until someone gets voted into Canton who played their entire league in one of these other leagues, I'll base it on what he did in the NFL which to me wasn't that much. I think his story got him elected more than actually what he's done on the field. -
Rename the Lombardi Trophy
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well considering most of his career was spent before the Super Bowl was ever even played zero, however his over all stats were: 3 NFL titles, 10 playoff appearances in 21 seasons Which is pretty good. He did coach 8 seasons with the Bengals in the SB era and went to the playoffs three times. That's also is pretty impressive when you consider the Bengals were an expansion team, in fact he won a division title there in the 3rd season, first year in the NFL post merger. More importantly was his innovation he added to the game. I suppose the fact that he never played or won a Super Bowl would disqualify him from having the trophy named for him. But do think naming it the Lombardi trophy isn't really warranted either as three of his championships were also pre-Super Bowl era too and from everything I've seen of the guy his coaching style was to be a bully which was certainly more acceptable back then. Personally I think it would be much more justified if it was called the Chuck Noll or Bill Walsh trophy. Maybe coach of the year should be called the Paul Brown trophy!
