  1. You should have titled this thread should we trade pass the Clapp back to them?
  2. Was thinking a bit about Chase Claypool. He very likely was also a diva WR, but he was a diva with poor QB play so then becomes labeled a real problem child and need to get rid of him. So will see now has a good QB, will he have a good year. Was also mentioned Claypool's best year as a rookie was still when Big Ben was around as his QB
  3. Certainly not buying into the OC's plans is a headache in itself. Yes but do you want him to then kind of sulk when he doesn't get he ball as that was the impression he was giving by year end, more going through the motions.
  4. Article in todays BN makes me think the biggest rift was between Diggs and Brady. He didn't like the direction the offense was going in, article kind of supports that too. Think he just kept sulking more and more each week late last year., I'd imagine Diggs and Brady talked in off season tying to get Diggs to buy in, wasn't happening so figured best to trade him. https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/buffalo-bills-stefon-diggs-josh-allen-nfl-houston-texans/article_2e5188b6-22ab-11ef-bbe8-6782a08e6066.html
  5. Unless they drastically both outplay the competition, I think it will be one spot for either Scantling or Claypool as feel the team will more want to give that last roster spot to someone younger who could stick around with the team longer. Shorter is locked up for another 3 years I'd imagine on rookie contract so could more see him sticking and taking the last slot.
  6. When I read the article two things struck me first the authors comments about Lawrence's development. I do, however, remember thinking this at the time: He’s going to need to be reprogrammed from Clemson’s RPO-heavy, simplistic passing game and be taught an NFL passing game from the ground up, conceptually. 2nd comment made was: He’s not even the best quarterback in the AFC South — that would be the Texans’ C.J. Stroud, last year’s No. 2 pick and Offensive Rookie of the Year. To me Stroud is still a bit of a TBD. Yes he played better last year, but there have been a number of rookie wonders over the years, lets see how he looks this year and even the year after that.
  7. Yes but the 17th game in 2025 will be NFC West at AFC East, for Bills good chance it will be SF at Buffalo
  8. Lot of time rookie QB's look real good, but then teams figure them out by the 2nd year. Even with adding Diggs, I'll be surprised if Stroud plays as well this year. Levis is a real emotional guy, a fan favorite, but how much improvement will we actually see??
  9. Agree, the point I was trying to make though was when any team drafts a player that young, regardless of how well he was ranked, IMO the uncertainty increases as to how good he'll eventually become also increases. Beane seems to be going more for players with less risk lately, drafting the lower hanging fruit.
  10. True, but he was still very young when drafted and was expected to improve significantly which happened somewhat, but not likely to the level they expected.
  11. One of the things that Beane appeared to address differently this year and maybe even already last year was picking players who performed high in college as opposed to in the early years of Beane as GM was picking players more based on potential and ceiling. A couple that come to mind were Knox, Edmunds, even Allen. I suppose it made more sense back than as the team was in a more longer term building mode whereas now they are looking to replace players with a new younger version right away.
  12. I don't think Diggs skipping OTA's with the Bills was a big deal as he had developed good chemistry with Allen. But on a new team with a new QB is more a big deal. But he basically has a one year contract so little need as he can walk after 2024.
  13. Somebody must have heard me talking about this the other day as the Athletic just did an article on this. Of the 31% 3rd drafted QB's Allen is one of them, interestingly so is Big Ben whom Allen is sometimes compared too
  14. Either way to me is a good thing. If he walks who are they replacing him with, likely will be another Andy Dalton type as they are much easier to find than an Allen or Mahomes, or even to do as well as to find another Tua they'd be lucky. Was it 5 or 6 QB's drafted in the 1st round. What's the over/under on the number of them who'll earn a 2nd contract with the team that drafted them?
  15. But you didn't plan for the 17th game, will be NFC west, likely SF at Buffalo
  16. That likely would make for a tougher round. If the traps were green, then likely I'd never find one.
  17. With a handle like Stinky Finger, you should be washing balls! Haven't played Byrncliff in about 30 years. The one thing I remember is not a bit of sand anywhere, but water on just about every hole in some fashion, may just be a little creek running across fairway, or a large pond.
  18. Interesting that they signed this guy the same day an article came out saying Hyde will sign only with Buffalo or retire! They could do that at least for training camp, see how he compares to the others, if not good then cut him. He's be a help for those 6 weeks or so.
  19. 4:05 games are local only for the most part. That week the nationally broadcast game will be on the other network starting at 4:25. A handful of other cities will pickup the 4:05 game, mainly ones in the home and away cities of teams with 1:00 starts
  20. Ok so that may explain what happened.
  21. Long term, agree with cause problems. But if Rodgers can stay healthy and puts one great season together, you never know??
  22. Haven't seen/read the TV schedule, is it on ESPN, NFL network, time??
  23. Last few seasons the overall CAP number has always been higher than projected a year out. So taking that into account, plus a couple of surprise cuts or maybe not a surprise based on how they play in 2024 season plus restructures, overall will end up with considerably more space than projected now.
  24. No but did have some issues on BN site
  25. It is called Sunday Ticket, not Thursday Night or Saturday Night Ticket. These other networks paid a lot more money for those packages. I'm sure YTTV could have also bid and got those games too if they really wanted, but instead of paying $289 to renew, it may have been $389! I did renew yesterday. With DTV could always expect a better deal by waiting, not sure that is as likely to happen with YTTV, don't believe that happened last year either. Maybe they realize, once they do that everyone will wait and many never sign up. By sticking with one price, it shows people there's no reason to wait. Will see??
