  1. It just amazes me how dumb people are who post here. Until Allen is ruled healthy Peterman will be on the active roster. Is that really that hard to figure out? They aren't going to sign some new guy even to be the backup as long as you have a guy here Peterman knows the offense.
  2. I think letting him sit for a couple of weeks could help more than going out there and making the same mistakes repeatedly. For everyone gushing over Mahomes, he played one game last season, so sitting can work. I think the original plan was for Allen to sit, but he looked as good as the other two. That was the big problem AJM never played up to expectations.
  3. They signed Anderson, he fills the same role as Fitz does. If they want to sit Allen, they can play anderson
  4. #3 A guy I work with is a Clemson grad and huge fan. He commented to me back at final cut day, "Be prepared for McCloud to put a couple on the carpet!" He was right! Will be interesting to see next week, who starts at QB, if Allen isn't healthy, do they feel Anderson has learned enough to start him, and even if Allen is ready to go, who start, Allen or Anderson??
  5. I really doubt the front office and even McD thought the team would have made the playoffs last year. If that had happened drafting at least a few slots higher, likely wouldn't have need to give up as much to have still got Allen and Edmunds. Maybe they wouldn't have needed to move Glenn, or would likely have had at least one more 2nd or 3rd round draft pick top use.
  6. I''ll agree Allen's progress has been tough to watch and had hoped he'd look better by now. However the problem with this in today's NFL there's not enough practice time to evaluate a rookie and 2nd year guy who's still developing. You'll then have two guys and little idea if either will develop. Allan probably had some of the biggest question marks going into the draft, but also the most upside so they drafted him. He needs playing time, ideally it shouldn't have come this season, but it is. His stats this year are still better than Mahomes rookie year and over 16 games about even with Mitch T. Mahomes couldn't beat out Alex Smith last season, but now he's tearing things up. Allen's accuracy wasn't looking bad during training camp, drills, etc. Supposedly he worked with some QB whisperer who helped straightened him out and made him look serviceable But now with the real bullets flying, he doesn't have time to think and is back to all his old habits. Let him get some playing time, maybe the game starts to slow down for him and he can start to think about what he is and isn't supposed to do out there. He does have pretty brutal weapons too all around, both WR and O-line. Will time and and a better team around him help, who knows it might help, he also doesn't need to have the accuracy of a Rodgers either, just throw for 250+ yard a game and they could be a very good team. I also know that no one knows for certain it won't improve. If it doesn't likely the team won't be much better next year or the year after and they'll be drafting early again and can get their guy then. (doesa't appear to be any can't miss prospects coming out this coming draft anyway) As I stated in the beginning taking another rookie now will just give you two guys with not enough time to develop.
  7. Yeah, I suppose the starter part does make it rather unique.
  8. I'll bet you it;'s in the hundreds if not more. like someone posted above, life on the roster fringe.
  9. He's good, certainly top 15 type good, but I don't think he's worth the money he's making. And they've had to let too many others on the roster go to afford him. And seems like every year, the team has done worse as they keep needing to dump talent around him because of cap issues, is that 100% due to his salary alone, no, but he's a part of it. You also read about the drama out there around him too, maybe that's really not on him but on Carroll? Wilson's not unique in this, there's probably 10 QB's similar who are paid much more than their play dictates. There was an article people here had a thread on a couple weeks back about some writer stated you should draft a rookie QB and once his contract is up, let him go and grab a new one as usually not worth the money they want. I wouldn't maybe go as far as that article went, but don't totally disagree with that argument either.
  10. Completely agree he was just a figurehead, but didn't view him at all as a scapegoat as everyone around knew Rex was the brains or lack there of behind the defense. Someone pointed out one instance of Rex maybe throwing Thurman under the bus, I didn't recall that one, but overall don't recall Rex ever bad mouthing Thurman, seemedeveryone was happy with him beign the figurehead
  11. Except he didn't get demoted, he was still the DC and don't recall Rex Thurman in anyway or blaming him for anything. So if he wasn't demoted and never blamed for anything by Rex or most others in the press (everyone knew Rex was in charge) how exactly was he the scapegoat?
  12. I agree that he was DC in name only, but woundn't call him the scapegoat as everyone knew Rex and the 2nd year Rob were running the D. For the most part don't recall hearing anyone ever try and blame Thruman, everyone blamed the Ryan boys for everything..
  13. And gone down hill ever since. He's a great example of the second tier "franchise QB" which I define as decent QB's had 1 or 2 very good years, get paid top franchise $$ once their rookie contract is over, but once they're paid that amount, not enough money left to field a top level team around them. Some QB's Rodgers, Fauve, Brady Manning, Brees are good enough that they can take decent talent around them and still keep the team at the top level. But guys like Wilson, Newton, Flacco, Daulton, etc don't have enough talent for the money they earn.
  14. That's my thinking too, Peterman will stay on the roster until Anderson knows the offense and/or some short term 2 to 3 week injuries hit forcing the Bills to make a move then he likely will get cut. Can't see the Bills having three QB's active either on game day roster.
  15. Well no, according to Takanka's thinking, the Bills signed Hyde thinking he was just going to be an average signing. But they screwed up and now discovered he's actually pretty good, so they will get rid of him!
  16. Speaking of which did Washington get picked up by anyone?
  17. Peterman played well in the pre-season too. While you may think he should be given a change the coaches who actually see him play apparently don't see it the same way as you do. And they actually are seeing him every day too, amazing that they don't see it the same way as someone who doesn't ever see him practice.
  18. Just hope defenses start figuring this out and double and triple teaming Ridley! Says a guy who has Julio on his fantasy team.
  19. Well I didn't literally mean 20 pounds but you got the idea! No but convert 20 pounds of weight/fat into 20 pounds of muscle. Basically an off-season year of conditioning and year of gaining strength.
  20. I also think an off season of adding about 20 pounds of muscle will make a huge difference too. You hear that all the time about rookies, they come in their first season too weak. It's even more compounded here as he's only 20 years old.
  21. Completely agree with this. His problem was he loved every player way too much and would pay them whatever they wanted. In fairness the cap was still a fairly new thing, but he didn't handle it well at all.
  22. You are completely correct, this is 100% on Beane. I don't care if he was still working for the Panthers, this is all his fault!!
  23. T white, is a 1st round rookie contract, but think he's still exceeding IMO
