  1. And your'e a bad poster too. But at least some day the Bills could be a good team!
  2. Would think it would be a Marriott since they are a sponsor of the league.
  3. First of was he really that good, or is a result of their line was just bad so someone has to make the tackle. The Bills didn't allow him to leave, he was an UFA who chose to leave, did the Bills try and get him to stay, did they make him any offers, the only people who know that for certain are the Bills and Brown. Was he worth the $4 mil + $2 mil SB he got from Cinci? Per Rotoworld, the answer is NO, nor do his stats look like he's worth it. And now here's on IR. While he was good, he is a long way from the potential game changer that Edmunds is. You're not building a top level defense around Preston brown, while you can around Edmunds.
  4. When you consider that there's only one team in the conference with a worst record, the odds that they will all fall apart is rather low. There's five teams with a two game lead on us and three of those five have already beaten us. Recently I went back and looked, (to 2005 I think it was), there's only been one team at 8-8 that made the playoffs as a wild card. Surprisedly (or maybe not) there were more 8-8 teams that won their division than got in as a wild card.
  5. McBeane wasn't here in 2017, McD was yes. So are you asking why they didn't draft a QB in 2017 like Mahomes? If that's what you're saying, the Bills along with the rest of the league didn't value him that highly. And I was responding to your post about all the guys the Bills let go and now have dead cap, now you're on a different subject. And looking at your list with the possible exception of Glenn, even if they had taken a QB in 17, highly likely they still would have dropped the other players. And in some cases, their salaries were higher than the cap hit, so again explain how they would have afforded to keep all these guys?
  6. Yes but if they wanted to hire a GM in January, you're likely limited to those out of work as doubt teams would give up people on their payroll to another team 3 months prior to the draft. That's the reason front office contracts all expire May 1st. From what I've read here, teams are not required to let front office people under contract take jobs with other teams . So now your choice in GM's is pretty much limited to people other teams have fired oh and 80 yo Bill Polien and his useless son. Seems like every year, next years draft class is always better until you get to that point of the draft, then it's not as good. Agree you could be correct about 17 being better than 18, but are you thinking that somehow the one guy we had hired would have known that and instead drafted Mahomes. None of the other teams 1 thru 9 drafted him, nor were the Bills likely flooded with offers, so basically he wasn't that highly valued. So far he's looked great, but Prescotts best season was his rookie year too when teams had no film on him. So I'll wait at least other season or two to see how good he really is and see how well the class of 18 pans out.
  7. And they didn't really stack their offense until after their rookie season. So if he had selected a different coach/GM the results would have been different? For the most part about 30% of QB's elevate to franchise level so if Allen flames out, the only thing you can say about McD and Beane is welcome to the club.
  8. And then we wouldn't have Allen or Edmunds or maybe both. They traded people like Glenn to get picks so they could move up to get the QB they wanted. Whether they picked Allen or Rosen or whoever, they needed draft capital and by winning as many games last year as they did, they needed a lot. Probably if they had only won 5 or 6 games last season like many expected they could have drafted the same players as they did without needing as many extra picks and maybe could have hung onto Glenn. Or they could have kept the picks they got for him to draft others. TT backup QB... At $16mil Great idea! If we had kept TT there wouldn't have been money to sign Star L and likely some of the other lower salaried guys they signed. Doubt they could have afforded Kyle Williams $5 mil So explain to me where in your plan would you have got the money to sign these guys without cutting half the team?
  9. A better title for this thread should be "If the Bills look at drafting another QB, how will they ever have time to develop either? With todays CBA that limits practice and off-season time, there's hardly anytime available for the #1 QB to get enough snaps, now you bring in a second person to share the time. You'll quickly have no idea if either are any good. I read a couple seasons back that the backup QB typically gets about a half dozen snaps each week with the 1st unit. I think everyone seems to feel the Bills should have a vet backup, so that means the new guy is QB #3 which puts him with the scout team and getting no reps with the starters. Someone posted to the thread, "Look at NE they draft a QB every season. Well that's easy to do when you have an established starter, you don't need to worry about giving him time, in fact probably even better to save wear and tear on a guy like Brady. They also aren't using high draft picks on them either. Where as if you feel you're looking at an upgrade over Allen, as many would argue, it probably will also need to be a 1st round pick. So now you'll have two 1st round picks that neither get enough time in practice to develop. If there's no improvement at all by the end of the2nd season what typically happens is you try and go with a different OC that will use a scheme better suited to the QB's strengths and blame the problems on that. If after another season still no improvement, then may be time to look for a replacement which in Allen's case would be after season #3, but even then Allen would still have one more season under contract.
  10. Hoping he Giants end up behind them as could potentially get some extra picks from them as they need a QB
  11. That's true, didn't think about that, most businesses don't have a salary cap! Though some act like they do.
  12. Not that I'm knocking him either way, but did he buy the boots or did he have the Bills pay for them. That sort of thing is done all the time in businesses where you give recognition gifts, so not knocking it, just wondering.
  13. I had to do a double take, listening to the crowd noise I thought the Steelers were the home team! But that's kind of par for the course in Jax
  14. That's kind of presumptuous, lets assume the team gets real good, Allen is a franchise type QB, his contract is up, plus T White, Edmunds, etc. It's difficult to sustain not getting into cap hell if you build a good team. Not impossible, but hard to do. So far no evidence either way that Beane will do a good job with managing the cap or not as frankly nothing yet to look at as a reference. He's seems to have a good head for the business side, but time will tell.
  15. Well as was pointed out earlier, you're either a troll , 12 years old, or an idiot. If Barkley started, the line may drop to 6 or 5. If they announced I was starting a QB next week for the Bills the line wouldn't move more than a couple points no matter what happens, lines don't change by 7 points. Maybe if they announced Arron Rodgers was starting for Buffalo it might go to even but even then maybe!
  16. Explain this to me, based on what you're saying how come Jax is a 7 point favorite? Translate that to odds is probably close to 2:1 That's fine that you think all that's going to happen, but to say there's a 10% chance of this happening there's nothing to back it up. As was pointed out probability is multiplied so very quickly goes downhill. Many people here post things that are opinion that can't be verified either way, but when you say 10% chance, that's just not correct mathematically so what you are saying is absolutely beyond the shadow of a doubt WRONG!
  17. I'd imagine the odds are much lower, less than 1%. 2 of the games, Jax and Fish in Miami, the Bills will be underdog. so lets just say it's 1.25:1 against. So multiply that, now add i na factor for every other game you mention and that number drops real fast. Actually just saw on one site not certain am interpreting correctly but lists them at .1% chance. Another site give the m1/250 to win division which is even less.
  18. What I don't understand is why two teams that both have byes can't play the following Thursday night. I see next week the Jet's are playing NE. Why not play on Thursday? It's doesn't seem that hard to figure out how to make the schedule work. Granted byes only happen from around week #4 thru #12, but could reduce the number of teams playing on Sunday then again Thursday.
  19. Could have happened in warm ups, him and Peterman tossing the ball back and forth, and next thing...... Well you get the idea of what happened next! Sorry couldn't resist. And I'll admit I actually liked Peterman or at least didn't have the hatred of many here.
  20. I also lived in NYC, but took my father and I a little time to figure out what was going on and turn on the radio and listen to the end of the Jet's broadcast.
  21. I remember watching it too, finally figured out what was going on, tuned it in on radio, by then Raiders had scored the two TD's
  22. I've thought about this possibly happening too. Atlanta has two other good receivers so could let him got to use $$ elsewhere.
  23. Before I was "Formally from Rochester" I worked there at Kodak, they were laying off so many they let you stick around for a month after being told you were laid off with full access to everything some were in areas where they actually were expected to work, others could spend all the time looking for a new job.. Initially they were walking people out, but found 99% of the people did nothing bad so let them stay. Yes you're correct, I was just thinking more in terms of not a traditional paper playbook anymore. I don't even know if they bother to get the Surfaces back as much as just immediately terminate the account. That would be an interesting job to have. Being told the person is being cut, terminate the account before the player even knows.
  24. Because he can! As long as anyone can join this board and immediately start new threads we'll continue to have alot of trash here.
