He was something to watch. He scrambled to scramble where as guys like Mahomes, Allen more scramble in a much different way. Id also disagree with his comment that the two best scramblers met in the super bowl. I'd rank the 2 best as Jackson and Allen. Allen runs more thna Mahomes in past couple of years

Just read an article in the Athletic titled Lions coach Dan Campbell selling his Detroit-area home due to security concerns. Never heard of this happening in Buffalo other than a little bit with Doug Marrone's kids in school if I recall. If Bills fans were this bad, can you imagine all the coaches here who'd have moved. Rex probably would have moved to Canada. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5782272/2024/09/20/dan-campbell-selling-home-security-concerns/

Look at how well a similar thing went for Urban Meyer going to the club after the Jax game

Never knew about this that it can provide the team cap relief. I wonder if this could help the Fish with the Tua situation?? Oh and last year, the Jets didn't buy a policy for Rogers! The CBA labels insurance proceeds as a "refund from the player," which qualifies the amount as a cap credit for the club for the following season. In the simplest terms, if a player who eats up a significant portion of a club's salary cap misses significant time with injury or illness, a club doesn't have to take it as a total loss, but can recover space for the following year. Plus, insurance premium payments don't count against the salary cap. "That's the crux of the loophole," the former club executive said. "You effectively can use cash to create cap space from scratch. In a closed system, that is one of the few ways to buy cap space." https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/41274295/nfl-insurance-policies-star-players-aaron-rodgers-tua-tagovailoa-jared-goff-joe-burrow-christian-mccaffrey

Bojo had "the greatest punt you'll watch this season"

OK, for some reason I was thinking it was Bills player who did that. Now that you say the name, do recall. -

Who was the Bills punter with the 98 yarder a long long time ago? -
I see the survey leader is Burrow. He might be a clear #3, but until he can stay healthy, I can't pick him. And Stroud needs more than 1 year to prove to me he's good, so I went with Jackson by default.

I don't recall any of Morse's being so obvious watching on TV as Tua's have been. And he's a center so not all the publicity about it. That's the problem the league and the Dolphins have, this is being publicized so much. I doubt the league could force him to retire so are kind of foced to leave the choice up to Tua.

Mcdermott going for it on 4th and 3
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to 86poker's topic in The Stadium Wall
My guess it was very early and he expected a track meet where to win, may need to score 30+ points. So went for it. -
Just read this from an article about the Guardian Cap, I'm sure this will be contested, but maybe is correct?? Don’t count on these new helmet caps to protect against concussions, experts said. “The problem is that people confuse head injuries with brain injuries,” Dr. Jamshid Ghajar, a neurosurgeon and the president of the Brain Trauma Foundation, told me. “Helmets definitely help with head injuries,” like a fractured skull or injuries to the scalp, he noted, but they don’t help with concussions. Concussions arise when a person’s neck bends and twists after the head is hit. That was apparent on Thursday, when the Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion from a tackle that caused his neck to turn sharply.

Social media after a Bills win makes everything better
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
My favorite quote was: The sad thing is Buffalo is rebuilding, lost a lot of players this off season It's true though we are somewhat in a rebuilding mode, at a minimum, should have more money next year to spend if they want. -
In season trades are typically made either by a good team trying to get better or fill a hole and will trade a draft pick for a player and the team trading the player are in a re building mode and are going nowhere in the current season so are looking to pick up additional draft picks. Based on the 2-0 start, that doesn't seem to apply to the Bills and can't see how trading Cook would in any way make them better for the current season unless they were to get a top level player in return that fills a big hole they have and also fits into their salary cap situation without causing issues for next season either. Based on how they've played so far, while in theory the injuries left them with big holes, but so far their on field performance doesn't seem to support that. Now would I trade him in the next off-season, that's a different story assuming Davis looks decent.

The story on on the BN states it was NOT tipped, and they are quoting NFL.com who tracks these things. Not that two days from now it can't be changed to a tip??

Samuel needed to stop, then the defender would have ran him over, highly likely then would be called PI. -
Game management strategy & “The big miss”
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was also pointed out by the announcers on Sunday that if the squib kick is too low and if any of the opposing players in the front line can jump up and somehow touch the ball in any way, it's the same and not reaching the landing zone and the ball comes out to the 40. So the ball needs to be high enough to easily get over the front line players heads and reach the landing zone on the fly, but still basically die before it reaches the two return men and also try and not roll it into the end zone. Add to that you probably want to angle it towards the sideline to increase the time required for the return man to get to the ball, but then have to worry about ball going out which is what happened. The rules are still all new. With all the limitations on how much time can be spent by teams in the summer during training camp. things like this have probably received little reps. Probably will take a couple of years of practice for kickers to prefect all the little wrinkles the new rules create and ways to get around them. And by the time they do, the rules will likely be tweaked again. They are already talking these rules may create too many touchbacks so will make changes to further penalize teams for kicking into end zone. They were saying likely he ball will be brought out further. -
Bills Coordinators Need To Be Much Better
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
Defense was much better in 2nd half. That's kind of cop out saying they looked good in 2nd half, but it couldn't have been that Babich adjusted. It must have been McD that made the difference. Certainly is possible, but so far I haven't heard anybody stating that. -
