Should Bills Draft a Back-up QB? Who?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to NORWOODS FOOT's topic in The Stadium Wall
So you want to take a guy drafted in the 5th 6th, or 7th round and only NFL experience is playing in a couple of pre season games against other guys drafted in the 5th 6th, or 7th round and think he is going to better than Mitch T? LOL Trubisky may have been over drafted, but he's still better than a guy drafted that low with zero experience. 1st round picks have a 50/50 shot at success, unless they draft the next Tom Brady, you'll never even know and with Allen on the bench as soon as he's healthy he's back in the line up. I've heard suggestions of drafting the backup QB in 3rd round which is even a dumber idea as basically one of the complaints about Beane is how many 2nd and 3rd round picks he drafts have failed. Now using a higher pick on player that hopefully will never play is even worse. If they did draft a QB, likely the plan would be to stash him on the PS so they better draft him no earlier than the 6th otherwise when the cut him at the end of camp, another team will grab him so better draft him real low and then will just sit on PS for possibly as long as 4 years and then once a FA will sign with another team where he actually has a chance to play. And the other likely thing that may happen wit ha QB on PS if injuries hit some other position and the team needs to make a roster move the QB on the PS would be one of the 1st to go. Every couple of months I read a one of these threads suggesting the same, my suggestion is change the title to "I want to throw away a draft pick". The Bills don't need to develop a QB for the next 4 or 5 years. When Allen hits around age 33/34, then can start to think about developing a new QB -
So just curious about the rules. So Hyde is on PS , normally if another team wants to sign a player to their 53 man roster, they can "steal" anyone off another teams PS. Does the player have the option to say, "thanks but no thanks!" and not accept? Or is it more like a waiver claim where player doesn't have a choice. Probably 99% of the time the player would jump at the chance, I'd assume in this case Hyde would say no, but just wondering about the actual rule on this.

Around the NFL - Week 13 2024 (no Bills discussion please)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
So I turned on a TV and the last channel viewed popped up which was NBC. They were re-showing the National Dog Show fro about the 10th time. Right at that instant the contestant showing their dog was Dick LeBeau. His dog was probably all of about 5 pounds soaking wet, it's name Hall of Fame! Guess we know what he's doing in retirement! -
NFL Today in Detroit for Bills-Lions game
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Ed_Formerly_of_Roch's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah guess I lost my thought and skipped a few words there. I edited my post, hope it makes more sense now They were implying like when the show was in Buffalo 2 weeks go, they showed the crowd and was about 98% Bills colors. They are making the assumption it will be all Lions fans there at the game and when they show the crowd all we will see are Lions fans. But my point it Bills fans travel pretty well. -
So when they show live shots behind the set, will they be showing more Lions jerseys or Bills jerseys in the crowd? The announcers just kind of called out the Bills fans that it will be all Lions fans there, assuming no Bills fans will make the trip or get tickets.

Just curious, does anyone know, if Steelers had won on Thursday, would they have been a head of Bills in standing as the #2 seed? Believe they only have 1 conference loss, but not sure if that's the fist tie breaker anymore?

Why is McD not being talked about as coach of the year?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall
think you forgot Tomlin. As much as I think the Steelers should have fired him a couple years back, no one expected him to be doing what he is doing and in probably the toughest division in the AFC -
Benford, Bernard & Shakir…re-sign all of them?

Think you're just looking at the stats. There's alot more going on with him that doesn't end up on the stat sheet.. -
2025 Schedule Pretty Much Locked In

If they get another international game, I'd put my money on Germany. -
Are you sure Shirley?

I also noticed the snap was high. Many feel Bass issues are mental, but after seeing he missed the XP on the high snap, makes me wonder if it's more technique, that he's just to anxious and needs to wait a split second longer, but instead he gets moving too early. If the snap is perfect, no issues, but if anything is off by just a fraction, then his timing is all off too and he misses them. Maybe he gets too amped up??

Add to that list Groot! -
The other thing too is while Lamar is a good passer, he doesn't have close to the arm strength of Allen. He runs to set up the pass, Josh can do either. In the past folks were worried, Allen is going to get banged up from all the running and become another Cam Newton. But Newton never had the arm. Allen could still thrive as a pocket passer, Newton, or Jackson can't!

I'd like to nominate Van Demark for a game ball. While he wasn't perfect, filling in for Brown against the strongest part of KC's D line, I thought he played a hell of a game for believe first time ever start?

Kind of rooting for NE, Miami and the Jets to win a couple of games to keep them from getting any great draft picks. Get them out of the top 10!
