  1. The one thing that worries me about Williams is he looked real good against Miami, but that was at a point in game where Miami was running for the bus as they like to say. Am a bit nervous to count on him. Feel that's part of the reason the running game has looked that bad is we've kind of assumed mediocre players are going to produce more for the past couple of seasons now. Yeah I like the idea of signing Stills for $2 to 3 mil, but does Stills like that idea? I did look up him last contract was in the $8 mil range. But he also wasn't re-signed by anyone after he was cut so maybe $3 mil doesn't sound so bad for him. Green wouldn't be a bad guy to sign, see his market value is listed as $6 mil, but will he get it. With all the 2020 rookie WR and supposedly 2021 will also be a deep draft class, may mean WR free agent salaries drop.
  2. Agree kind of felt the same too. Was there some secret injury to Allen that we'll hear about in a couple weeks, or was it just that once you get into the playoffs the defenses all are much better. Hard to believe that's it as played some good defensive teams in regular season too unless they all save their good stuff for the playoffs..
  3. I really don't understand why going for 2 was the wrong move. At that point the Bills needed to score three TD's and on two of them they needed to convert a two point conversion, so what difference does it make if you were to get the two on the first two TD's or the last two? You can make the argument going for two on the first ones makes more sense as then you know where you stand going forward whether you'll need two or three more scores. If you wait until the last one and don't make it, may not be enough time to do anything else. Agreed, the running game was an issue all season. Singletery certainly dropped off alot. Was it him or the run blocking? You wonder at how well the passing game was, did they even spend enough practice time on the run game? Need big improvement there. Think drafting 30th they should look for a CB there as agree they need a legit #2 guy and likely could still find a guy that low who could step in as a rookie as opposed to drafting some other position. Agree completly with cutting Brown unless he were to come back in the $3 mil range. Agree too it is kind of ironic about the def coordinators. Going into this game I felt that the next coach of the Texans would be who ever lost this game between Frazier and Beimeny. I do question the logic though of either as how much of the defense is really Frazier or McD pulling many of the strings himself, same in KC with Beimeny as Reid likely is pulling many of the strings. In that respect would think a better choice would be Daboll or Spags or even a guy like a Wink Martindale.
  4. #1 I agree, but also agree may be hard to find with money as hard to come by as it is. I'd cut Butler and Addison which saves close to $16 mil to try and get one, but even if cutting those two still might not be enough when you add in other needs they also have like signing Milano, Feleciano, and Williams. The Bills philosophy on the D line is we're not going to have any superstars, but instead will pay for depth so even when we roll out subs in, they will beat you. In 2018 and 2019, that concept worked pretty well, but this season not so much. Part of it may have been due to having Jefferson, and Butler play out of position due to Star opting out or maybe they just were all the right guys. Know idea how common the rotating D line players is, but don't recall Bruce Smith coming out very often. May be a sign of the times as players in all sports seem to "need" more time off. #3 Also agree with. Interesting in that the Bills seem to be one of the few teams in the league that only plays two RB's each week or at least they have a 3rd one to count on to play when needed. But as little as we ran the ball maybe not needed. It also plays somewhat into the first point in that we dress 9 D lineman each week due to the rotations where as most teams only have 8 active so one less active roster spot elsewhere. #2 Don't agree with. We have the #2 already Davis, or maybe Brown IF he takes a big pay cut like in half and is completely healthy and still has the speed, but even then think I'd take the $$ saving and let him go. There's only maybe two or three teams in the league that have two guys put up more receiving yards than the Bills top 2 and that's KC and Seattle, Tenn came close. Whether our 2nd best guy plays as a #2 or the slot, overall doesn't change things that much. Davis also played pretty well as a rookie who likely will improve. The Bills have too much money in the WR position and can't afford much more. Maybe if they can sign Kenny Still for $2 to 3 mil I'd be fine with that, but even McKenzie is likely going to take more than a million to sign himself..
  5. So you figure from half a field away, he lined himself up to be in the camera view? He was just at the edge of the view. If you're going to go to that much trouble why not line himself up front and cent, or just stand 10 feet being Tracy Wilson. Was it strange that he was still out there, yes, but really doubt he was thinking at all about trying to put a spotlight on himself. Likely he wanted to remember what it looked like to be on the winning side so he doesn't forget next year. As was pointed out McD was still out there as asked to do an interview so he stayed. For all any of us know Diggs was there for the same reason, they planned to interview him but then CBS changed their mind due to lack of time. Maybe they asked Allen first and he declined so went to Diggs next. If you want to speculate that he was doing it to grandstand to be in the spotlight, then my argument that it was to be interviewed is just as valid.
  6. Think it's more than a possibility. Without a huge cut in pay, would be surprised if he's back. Likely when the Bills signed Brown to a contract, they were already figuring how in the following years draft which was going to have a deep WR group they'd draft one in the 1st or maybe 2nd round. If they had done that Browns contract would be fine. But once they traded for Diggs, and drafted Davis and Hodgins, think Browns fate is sealed as too much money in the WR grouping even with the rookies.
  7. It got them within 14 points and if the next drive they did score, could have made it 7. If we'd have gone for TD's on those drives and got nothing, we'd have been 20 points behind at the end.
  8. Brown would be great to have back with unlimited money available. But unless he takes a huge pay cut, can't see him back.
  9. Sure but if the TE was catching 7 or 8 balls, that's 7 or 8 less going to Diggs, Beasely and others, If the team was 70 or 80 million under the cap I'd agree, but with limited $$, think there are much bigger needs than TE. Both lines for starters and RB
  10. Sure, but Knox isn't terrible either. 30 or 32 teams would like to have a Kelce
  11. Our defense was bad all year, got a little better 2nd half, but still nothing like past two seasons and overall most of core players were same other than Star. No pass rush all year it seemed, but stat wise, sacks looked good so hard to understand?
  12. So does that mean more completed passes, is Allen going to complete 75% and set an all time record that's never been broken in 100 years?
  13. Watching the game, do you actually feel they would have scored either time. Based on how they looked the only difference would have been instead of losing by 14, they'd have lost by 20. I understand the argument, but tonight the way we played, nothing was being gained by going for a TD other than lose by more.
  14. I agree with RB and D line and also O-line, but TE is the least of the problems. Allen completed almost 70% of his passes. You could add Kelce to this team and doesn't mean Allen is going to complete 75 or 80%. It just means Kelce will get receptions instead of Diggs or Beasley or someone else.
  15. So instead of losing by 14, you'd been happier losing by 20 or 23? Do you actually feel like the Bills could have completed a pass or ran the ball to score? From what I saw tonight, the odds were very low of that happening.
  16. Is hard to explain how/why he looked so much better last season. Not sure if the issue is the run blocking is much worse or something else going on, but entire running game basically doesn't exist?? But agree the biggest things they need to improve in the off season is running the ball and pass rush. Starr should help against the run though we all thought he was horrendous in past years but may have helped more than we realized. But still not enough consistent pressure on QB .
  17. Likely due to Johnson playing ST Likely due to Johnson playing ST
  18. The way I see it the Jets are an all around mess in need of a fairly large amount of talent. They have draft picks, but if they end up giving a large number of them up to get Watson, then they may not improve much in other areas. Miami on the other hand is decent all around right now and has draft picks, so if they were to trade for him they'd be a good team now also with a top QB so of the two potential destinations, would prefer the Jets.
  19. So was this what the movie Chinatown was all about? Close to 50 years ago, but... do recall it was all about California water rights.
  20. Around 12:00 was listening to NFL radio and Vic Carruci reported it was Covid so who knows??
  21. Getting my 1st Covid vaccine shot this morning!
  22. Two other guys I put up there in the same grouping for similar type reasons are: Dominik Hasek Many players in sports demand to be traded, and many will also dictate the teams they will only go too. But don't don't recall a player ever telling the team who he's demanding they trade him and to a specific team, but then telling said team, "You better not ask for too much in return as I don't want you weakening the Red wings so that I can't win the Stanley Cup!" 2nd one, as a Knick's fan, Pat Riley. Many coaches will mortgage the future to win now as he did. He traded many a draft pick and young players for older guys with a year or two left max. They came close a couple times to winning ti all, but never quite made it thanks to Reggie Miller and Jordan. But then once he knew the team was over the hill and wasn't going to be able to win the following season, he was owed a bonus of a few million on the upcoming July 1st. The Knick's were one day late in paying it so he claimed they voided the contract and he walked away to Miami and the league ruled in his favor. Those two events, plus Marrone dumping the Bills has left me rooting for failure from them three. So far only one has worked out pretty well.
  23. So tell me what happened to him? Is it injury? Coaching? How can a person go from one fairly high level to where he is now? Reich did do a good job with him so hard to just dismiss that. There's a good chance he could be gone, but think his past success will warrant him one more chance. Guess it may depend on what a guy like Reich really thinks of him.
  24. Or Wentz, though the large contract may stop that All we now is Big Ben to retire too, would be a heck of a HOF class in 3 years, Brees, Rivers, and Ben
