Best Cornerback in the Game!
Bob in STL replied to Halloween Land's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I say he is in the top 3. Definitely a shut down corner and a fantastic player. The dancing behind the ref was pretty dumb, especially with the call on us. I get it, some of you guys like that stuff, there is more showboating in this league than ever. If the already over-officious refs tacked on an unsportsmanlike penalty that would have been real bad. -
Coach McD handled it correctly after the game. He expects his team to stick up for each other, not to back down, and no further punishment will be made by him on Lawson. I think coach McD earns even more credibility oin the locker room too. He seemed to like having blood on his sweatshirt. Fighting is not a good thing but that escalated quickly and helped fire up the Bills. The Jags had the ball, first down on the 1 in a tie 14-14 game ... and they ended up with 0 points. Yes indeed, the game changed after that play.

Postgame thread: Bills 24 Jags 21

Classy? Classy would be not opening your mouth and dissing a rookie on draft day, before the kid ever plays a game in the NFL. -
Kelvin Benjamin has checked out. Just bench him.
Bob in STL replied to LTF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? Haven’t we ate enough contracts? He is on the team that’s why. I believe you should work for your pay. You asked and I responded - I would not play his game and bench him. Go to work Benjamin and catch the dam ball. He should know that the film does not lie and he is looking for his next gig. -

Benching him is what he wants. He wants to sit out, not get hurt, and collect his money. Then blame the team for his low production once he becomes a free agent. I would dress him but see no need to start him. Let him play situationally. Make him work. -
Aaron Maybin After Football - "Walking the Walk"

Great story. He is an impact player in a much bigger way than we hoped. -
Does not make me feel good. Any news on that team is nauseating.

KC vs. LAR vs. 1992 Bills vs. SF No Punt Game
Bob in STL replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We can agree that we should have won by 14+. We had the better talent and the fact we made 4 in a row justifies that. We ran a no huddle hurry-up for most of the season. You would think we could have done better in the last possession but again, the Giants played us before, and they where better prepared. Being a veteran team helped them for sure. They executed a masterful game plan and we did not adjust until very late. -
Another over paid free agent mistake. Never made a difference. Gone in my opinion.

KC vs. LAR vs. 1992 Bills vs. SF No Punt Game
Bob in STL replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, I think the one week helped us. Two weeks of Bills partying and they would have looked unprepared like they did to start of the Redskins SB. Parcells and Bellichek put together one of the best Super Bowl gameplans ever in just one week, just think about what they could do with 2? The Bills lost because they did not take what was given to them. They could have run all day on that 2 LB and 6 dB defense. That would have forced the Giants into their base defense which then would have opened up the pass. We realized this way too late, like in the 4th quarter. Our offense played right into their hands and the Giants did enough ground and pound to wear down our defense and control the clock. Although there were many missed plays, the defining moment becomes the final play, a 47 yard FG on real grass. Not an easy kick back then but the one that separated the great from the very good. Outcoached and overconfident. Two weeks would not have helped. -
SI Chronicles the Sad Saga of James Hardy
Bob in STL replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills drafted this guy and he had a rap sheet that was known by all teams. I remember him scoring a TD on a high pass "jump ball" play and thought maybe we found a great player. Not that I am blaming the Bills, just thinking about how to avoid these pitfalls. I wonder if the Bills did anything to help him get acclimated to the NFL, to life on his own, and how to handle the big pile of money that was coming his way? I thought I read that they did. Going back to the Marv era, I heard that they provided basic home and financial management support. Anyway sad story. The importance of family and the need to take care of children properly is what resonates with me. Seems like a lot of the players coming out of college need this kind of help. -
There is no way we will beat the Jaguars
Bob in STL replied to Cygnus99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is winnable game. Need strong defense of course and we need special team to make a few plays too. Allen has to protect the ball and make some throws. This game is key to Allen's development and it will show if sitting out and "learning" has helped the game "slow down" a bit for him. -
Ed Oliver won't be a Buffalo Bill
Bob in STL replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No thanks. This topic already has more coverage than it deserves. -
How about Jonah Williams at LG?
Bob in STL replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he can play any tackle or guard position that is a real plus. Of course most with this amount of talent want LT for the big payday. -

The coats in questions were designed to fit over shoulder pads. They are given to players that are dressed in equipment and playing. The other players, including Oliver, all had team sweat shirt/hoodies, etc. Oliver is a star and apparently above certain rules? I don’t know him but that is how he is perceived here. Even if th e rule is dumb, even if he did not know the rule, his reaction was very poor. I would hope that most here would agree that sometimes in life we have to suck it up, even for something stupid. -

Not sure I agree that it’s the coaches fault but that is the way things are today. There was a time when a coach would not try to be so understanding after a player erupts at him on the sideline. Dumb rule or not. Oh well. -
Josh Allen starts week 12 but shows no growth....
Bob in STL replied to Rebel101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can he at least play the game before we decide if he made any growth? -
Most Famous Bills Fan you ever met
Bob in STL replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly Wolf Blitzer does not count. He barely acknowledges he is from a Buffalo, but he will acknowledge Kenmore or Ken West High. He really knows nothing about Buffalo sports. I met him, not an engaging individual, on any level. I met Marv, Russert, Berman ... all way better than Wolf. Russert was most interesting. Former GM John Butler spent a long time talking football with me. What a great guy. Talked about free agent players, the draft, the fans, the city. Great guy. -
If we can improve on remainding 6 games with a strong finish of 4 - 2 after the bye, all with Allen at QB, I will consider the season a success. A 7-9 Record with Allen playing that many games would be nice. Our draft position will still allow us to get a top OT which are plentiful. Would also like like to see Dawkins, Teller, Zay, continue to improve on offense.

Three Holding Penalties on One Play?

Wonder if the Bills ever had 3 penalties on one play. ?? -
WTF with the “feel bad for Peterman” posts?
Bob in STL replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He could use a lift. So why not wish him well in his next endeavors? -
Best wishes to him in the future. He worked hard and he took his shot, there is no shame in that.

Comments about Nathan Peterman being a "good guy"
Bob in STL replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can tell you my response has nothing to do with someone "sharing a thought" that I agree with or not. I has more to do with introducing an idea that a bias exists and in turn project another bias. We are inundated with political stuff in our day to day lives, it would be nice to keep football out of it, but I do think I reacted stronger than I normally would do in case.
