11/2/25 GAMEDAY Bills vs Chiefs 4:30pm Post Game Thread
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was a complete nervous reck during the game. Beating KC has become an obsession. This time we played really good defense for most of the game, sometimes even great defense. Mahommes had one of his worst passing days ever, in no small part due to our defense today. Hairston has guys covered like glue. Bishop was amazing. Losing Hoecht is a major loss. Allen, Cook 3, and Kincaid were all very good. Play calling not great at times. I am taking the DUB. -
10/26/25 GAMEDAY Bills at Panthers post game thread

I will call it a good win and a warm up for next week. Great game for Cook and the run blockers. Great game for the defense too. Concerned about Oliver. Hoecht and Hairston will help them. The passing game is still not there. Allen talked about timing and his feet, I think his receivers are not very good. Shakir and Kincaid is all he has. They need to be better next week with KC in town. -
Roster Support over the past three years (Beane)
Bob in STL replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
The 2024 draft looks poor. Coleman and Bishop need to step up. Neither are solid starters. The 2025 might be a good one if Hairston becomes a real CB#1. Walker, Hancock and Hawes have flashed potential as well. The rest of it driven by cap management decisions. Since 2023 Beane has improved the OL but has not found enough help at WR. His inability to find impact players on defense is his biggest problem. Is this fireable? Not to me. Most of you guys do not follow the Sabres. Give Pegula a chance to change GMs and I fully expect he will blow it in a big way. -
Good. The plan is working then.

It’s time to have an uncomfortable conversation about Taron
Bob in STL replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am not convince we have CB#1 on the roster. The secondary is not very good. -
Terry will only ruin things trying to replace Beane/McDermott. Look at the Sabres. Terry destroyed that team to the point that no good players, coaches, or Front Office will go there. Everyone here in Bills Land needs to admit that Terry got lucky with the Bills and his chances of hiring better people are close to ZERO. Thank you for your service and best wishes to you.

I agree that the end arounds when you need 1 yard are bad calls. Would like to see a few Allen runs that are planned run pass options. Seems like we stropped doing that.

I don't think its true. He substitutes Cook a lot. When Cook get a slot of carries people complain that he isn't going hold up for playoffs. When Cook is not out there for a big play they complain about that.

10/13/2025 Bills at Falcons - Post game thread
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen does not have enough talent around him. He has Cook, Shakir and Kincaid. The rest is mediocre stuff. The defense needs impact players at every level but especially in the secondary. Take a rest, get back to work, and keep the faith. -
Beans and Sean - Should we miss the SB again
Bob in STL replied to Cubanmist 1's topic in The Stadium Wall
The problem with moving on is that you have Terry Pegula making the change and bringing in the new guys. Terry is a nice guy but he got lucky and struck gold with McDermott and Bean. With the Sabres he can't find good hockey management and its going on 15 long and painful years, an NHL record for poor performance with no playoffs. -
Bills asking fans to wear all white for the Pats game on Sunday
Bob in STL replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Burn the white jerseys. The Bills must wear Blue and Red with white. -
10/5/2025 GAMEDAY Bills vs Patriots Post Game Thread SNF
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought this game could be our first loss. The Bills just didn’t have it tonight. The officiating was terrible and inconsistent but the Bills did it to themselves with 3 turnovers and 11 penalties (15 flags total). Credit the Pats* for being better prepared tonight and they made more big play and fewer mistakes. The defense played a good first half, but as usual, once the offense started scoring the Bills defense gave up more points. Milano injury may have been a big key. The secondary is certainly below average. The Bills had a chance to take a late lead but failed to make the needed plays, underscoring the mediocrity of their WR group along the way. Seems like the WRs are never open. Allen can’t do it all every week. -

Bills Defense, will it get better as season goes on
Bob in STL replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
It should improve with the addition of the DL help - Hoecht and Oliver back. I am not sure about CB, Hairston will need time. The Safeties are a big question mark. -
DQ graded out high in the last game. Eppy is not going to get cut. Samuel is insurance, expensive insurance unfortunately.

You are missing something. Every team in almost every game can find a play or two and say "what if". Most of the games in the NFL come down to a few plays. The Bills will not win games by 42 - 7 every week. That is not happening. Every team makes "timely mistakes" or gets a break, its what you do afterwards that matters. The reality is that McDermott has coached his team good enough to be 3-0 right now. Criticizing wins is a luxury that only good teams have.

I think Sanders, or any rookie, needs a much longer look than just 3 games. He played a lot, now he needs to make some plays. It will come, the game will slow down for him in time.

Three games is a little early for the best blocker ever title. I like Hawes too but it way too early to say such things. Butch Rolle was another backup TE that could block and he was a special teams demon. Pete Metzellars was a fabulous blocker, he was a starting TE that blocked like we had a 3rd tackle out there. Levy said Metzellars had no peer as a blocking TE - pretty lofty praise and well earned. The Bills have had many outstanding blocking TEs and only a few good receiving TE's. Going back to the 1960's championship teams, Paul Costa was as excellent TE and that made two AFL All Star teams, he eventually was moved to OT and he excelled there. Keep up the good work Hawes, I do like the 3 TE sets and this could be a big advantage in bad weather.

9/18/25 GAMEDAY Bills vs Dolphins Post Game Thread TNF
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tough game, as I expected for Thursday night game against a very desperate Dolphins team. The offense looked good, then not, and then good again. Not liking that the Bills are not taking any deep shots down field. They averaged 6.3 yards per play which is quite good, but they left points on the field. The kickoff coverage was not good and Miami had good field position most of the game. The Bills 3rd down defense was bad (they gave up 10 of 15), mostly do to lack of pass rush. Bernard with a great INT when needed. Take the W and ten days of rest. They are not going to steam roll teams every week. Go Bills! -
If not scared, then ultra conservative for a team that was an underdog at home and had to make a statement.
