I don't think its true. He substitutes Cook a lot. When Cook get a slot of carries people complain that he isn't going hold up for playoffs. When Cook is not out there for a big play they complain about that.

10/13/2025 Bills at Falcons - Post game thread
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen does not have enough talent. He has Cook, Shakir and Kincaid. The rest is mediocre stuff. The defense needs impact players at every level but especially in the secondary. Take a rest, get back to work, and keep the faith. -
Beans and Sean - Should we miss the SB again
Bob in STL replied to Cubanmist 1's topic in The Stadium Wall
The problem with moving on is that you have Terry Pegula making the change and bringing in the new guys. Terry is a nice guy but he got lucky and struck gold with McDermott and Bean. With the Sabres he can't find good hockey management and its going on 15 long and painful years, an NHL record for poor performance with no playoffs. -
Bills asking fans to wear all white for the Pats game on Sunday

Burn the white jerseys. The Bills must wear Blue and Red with white. -
10/5/2025 GAMEDAY Bills vs Patriots Post Game Thread SNF
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought this game could be our first loss. The Bills just didn’t have it tonight. The officiating was terrible and inconsistent but the Bills did it to themselves with 3 turnovers and 11 penalties (15 flags total). Credit the Pats* for being better prepared tonight and they made more big play and fewer mistakes. The defense played a good first half, but as usual, once the offense started scoring the Bills defense gave up more points. Milano injury may have been a big key. The secondary is certainly below average. The Bills had a chance to take a late lead but failed to make the needed plays, underscoring the mediocrity of their WR group along the way. Seems like the WRs are never open. Allen can’t do it all every week. -

Bills Defense, will it get better as season goes on
Bob in STL replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
It should improve with the addition of the DL help - Hoecht and Oliver back. I am not sure about CB, Hairston will need time. The Safeties are a big question mark. -
DQ graded out high in the last game. Eppy is not going to get cut. Samuel is insurance, expensive insurance unfortunately.

You are missing something. Every team in almost every game can find a play or two and say "what if". Most of the games in the NFL come down to a few plays. The Bills will not win games by 42 - 7 every week. That is not happening. Every team makes "timely mistakes" or gets a break, its what you do afterwards that matters. The reality is that McDermott has coached his team good enough to be 3-0 right now. Criticizing wins is a luxury that only good teams have.

I think Sanders, or any rookie, needs a much longer look than just 3 games. He played a lot, now he needs to make some plays. It will come, the game will slow down for him in time.

Three games is a little early for the best blocker ever title. I like Hawes too but it way too early to say such things. Butch Rolle was another backup TE that could block and he was a special teams demon. Pete Metzellars was a fabulous blocker, he was a starting TE that blocked like we had a 3rd tackle out there. Levy said Metzellars had no peer as a blocking TE - pretty lofty praise and well earned. The Bills have had many outstanding blocking TEs and only a few good receiving TE's. Going back to the 1960's championship teams, Paul Costa was as excellent TE and that made two AFL All Star teams, he eventually was moved to OT and he excelled there. Keep up the good work Hawes, I do like the 3 TE sets and this could be a big advantage in bad weather.

9/18/25 GAMEDAY Bills vs Dolphins Post Game Thread TNF
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tough game, as I expected for Thursday night game against a very desperate Dolphins team. The offense looked good, then not, and then good again. Not liking that the Bills are not taking any deep shots down field. They averaged 6.3 yards per play which is quite good, but they left points on the field. The kickoff coverage was not good and Miami had good field position most of the game. The Bills 3rd down defense was bad (they gave up 10 of 15), mostly do to lack of pass rush. Bernard with a great INT when needed. Take the W and ten days of rest. They are not going to steam roll teams every week. Go Bills! -
If not scared, then ultra conservative for a team that was an underdog at home and had to make a statement.

9/14/25 Week 2 GAMEDAY Bills @Jets post game Thread
Bob in STL replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was Stanley from Sloan. No worries. -
Glenn coached scared yesterday. Maybe he will get better but that was a poor coaching job on Sunday. The Bills coasted in a place that is has been hard to win in.

Jimmy Spags? You won’t see him any more.

The Jets played it too safe. They needed to rack up points, they were playing Josh Allen. Instead they played conservative, even when down by 3 scores, they punted on a critical 4th and 2 at midfield. I expected more from the Jets but after seeing this game I think we could have hung 45-50 points on them if we had to. Instead we played the clock and got to rest some players for Thursday night.

Bills win with ease and I was comfortable in the 4th Quarter. Jets fans are suffering. Too bad .... Bring on Miami. -

Who would you rather start vs the Jets? Tre’Davious or Strong
Bob in STL replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would play Strong until he gives a reason not too. He did ok and as previously stated is a better tackler than Tre. Tre was expected to be backup depth to Hairston. -
Have the Jets ever felt like a real rival?
Bob in STL replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, the Jets are rivals. The Jets and the Pats* have been our rivals the longest, going back to 1960 and the original AFL. The Dolphins joined the AFL in 1966. The Jets usually play us tough no matter the records. It is very odd that the Jets and Bills have very little overlap when both teams were good. The Bills beat them the season that the Jets won the Super Bowl i(968), the Bills only win of the season. Life Time Records with our Division Rivals: Vs Jets: Bills won 71 and lost 58 with only 1 playoff game included (Bills won that one on the road in the Knox era). Vs Pats: Bills won 51 and lost 71 with 1 tie. The playoff record is 1-1. The Brady era was completely lopsided in Pats* favor. Vs. Dolphins: Bills won 60 and lost 62 with 1 tie. Playoff record is 4-1 in the Bills favor. The Bills have nullified the 0 for 20 record in the 1970's versus Miami. -
The Ugly The Bad The Good... The Bills Defense v Ravens Thoughts
Bob in STL replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
Rapp is back-up quality and Bishop is still a work in progress. This is a very far cry from Hyde and Poyer, even from old Hyde and Poyer. Bean needs to pick up the phone.
