  1. Nobody is picking the Bills but I see this as a possible upset. Peterman is the key.
  2. Tyrod talking about 2016, really? You would think he was he would be focused on the season opener. He is on a team that won 1 out of the last 32, How many can he loose before they go with Mayfield?
  3. Are we going to have a thread on every ex Bill still in the league ??? Levitre, Peters, lets start a Darby thread next. When end a team changes coaches every 2 to 3 years, and changes front office every 4 to 5 years this is what happens. Good players leave. Either they force the leave (Peters), wait unti free agency and leave (Levitre, Hogan) or get traded (Darby, Darius, etc).
  4. Taking out the "leave in Buffalo" and grading only the performance of their sports product. Bills - C. Started with all the Polian confusion, Marrone leaving and Whaley staying, this was an F right out of the shoot. The Rex and Rob show, listening to that Marketing Guy, that was bad. Coach McD and GM Beane have pulled this from a F to a C and it's trending up. Still in a rebuild but I think they have the right people running things and they stay out of the way of Football Operations. They can go to B this season if the young players develop further by end of year, this seasons record is secondary to Allen and Edmunds looking good. Sabres - D. Horrendous signings and organizational errors by the Pegulas in the early years. No playoffs in 7 years and 3 last place finishes in 5 years should be an F but we have Eichel, Mittlestat, and Dahlin to build on and plenty of other young talent so this grade reflects an upward trend. I like Botterill, not so sure about Housley as an NHL HC. Now add in the total impact, commitment to staying in Buffalo, building Harbor Place, Canal Side, helping to revitalize downtown, One Buffalo ===> A to the Pegula's
  5. The entire offense needs work now that all the experimentation of the preseason is over. Given this, not starting Allen is good move. I wish Petersen all the best but fully expect we will see Allen take over sometime this season.
  6. Eddie is a name that rhymes with Steady. He thinks Peternan is steady. stead·y ˈstedē/ adjective 1. firmly fixed, supported, or balanced; not shaking or moving. synonyms: stable, firm, fixed, secure, fast, safe, immovable, unshakable, dependable; More 2. regular, even, and continuous in development, frequency, or intensity. synonyms: constant, unchanging, regular, consistent, invariable; More verb 1. make or become steady. synonyms: stabilize, hold steady; brace, support; balance, poise; secure, fix, make fast "he steadied the rifle" calm, soothe, quiet, compose, settle; subdue, quell, control, get a grip on "she needed to steady her nerves"
  7. True, but then we are down to 2 WRs and a TE in the pass pattern with Shady for the check down safety valve. either way we are very short on weapons after Shady and Benjamin.
  8. Yes he is wrong. He is very wrong. Ritchie retired, then asked to be released. Wood had a medical condition which forced his retirements Glenn has nit been healthy for 6ge past two season and made a ton of money to not play.
  9. For the real season we will use a totally different blocking scheme than what you saw in preseason, using angles and zones to seal off lanes. That should help the run game. Pass blocking may be a challenge though. I think we we might see no fullback and two TEs quite a bit. We may have better talent and better blocking with two TEs than with three WRs. Either way, with the lack of experience at QB, and the lack of talent on OL and WR it will require great coaching from Daboll to be competitive.
  10. Yes, good point. Hopefully they have someone ready.
  11. You don’t know until you try. I liked the Corey Coleman move. It was low risk and low cost to see what the former #1 pick had. When he showed nothing we had to cut him. Move on. As for the punter, if this kid does not show well you bring Schmidt or the other guy back. Not a high risk move at all.
  12. Some good point. Scheme can overcome some of the lack of talent as long as the players can execute it but at some point the opposing defense puts out a counter scheme to stop your scheme and it works and the entire league sees it. When we shall see how they do but when I see an OL with Mills as one of the more solid players on it I do have cause to be concerned.
  13. 2-2 would be a great start with this schedule and no proven QB.
  14. If the OL play is merely adequate I will be shocked.
  15. Comments like “poverty and blue collar mindset kills the vibe” are really kind of odd. You get worse after that. Struggle for peanuts? Rest of the nation flourishes? The comment about which generation “ruined Buffalo” illustrates a lack of education. Calling it America’s Mexico indicates a lack of sensitivity. Makes me disappointed if you really are a UB grad, which I seriously doubt.
  16. I see a lot of questions, mostly on offense but really there are questions related to talent and depth across the board. What you cant tell yet is preparation and execution... last year McDermott surprised a lot of people by having his team prepared on most weeks. I was was shocked to win 9 last year with the talent purge that happened. This year it’s the OL retirements and trades (Wood, RI, and Glenn) that worry me most. We essentially did nothing to replace these guys. Also losing steady but un spectacular Tyrod for a big unknown at QB. It’s easy to see the negative press. McD has his work cut out for him.
  17. I say do NOT start Allen. He is not ready and neither is the entire offense. Pederman is the sacrificial lamb. Lets see see what the OL can do after a few games with a full game plan in place. Let’s see what NP does first.
  18. You people calling for his return do not realize how ill and how dangerous he is. Bringing him him back is the wrong thing to do. Let it be.
  19. Can we play a few games before rushing to judgement on the OC? Yes, the OL and WR positions appear to be very thin. There is no veteran QB. We know.
  20. What areas of the team has Beane improved? OL - no, worse due to injuries and retirements WR - no, worse QB - TBD RB - same TE - same DL - no, but a work in process LB - depends on Edmunds CB - same or maybe better S - definitely improved kicking - improved coaching - much better lots of work ahead, need another year for sure.
  21. 2018 is starting to feel like 1968 ... hopefully we are better than we look.
  22. Come on, these are the players you want??? All major distractions with serious issues. Zay is walking a fine line, he better produce or he will be gone. Ritchie agreed to the pay cut and signed it. Then he did not like the deal and fired his agent. Then he retires under contract . Then he asked to be released to go elsewhere on a new deal. Then the violent gym incident. Then the violent incident at the funeral home. All on top of the bizzare racism allegations during the Jax game. Ritchie has an excellent LG. Time to move on and get the guy some help. Otherwise it is quite possible that he is going to hurt someone or himself someday. No teams are calling him, he needs help, his career is over. I hope he gets the help he needs.
  23. “Bring the whole squad down in a hurry” ... LOL
