Yes, Beane is executing a plan. Last year was painful to see such a young team with very little depth but I was impressed to see them improve and play hard all season long. That was good coaching. It certainly looks like he brought in 8 players that will help. More coming, plus the draft. Beane is proving himself. A positive winning culture is being set.

Let’s not get too excited just yet. Last year they fielded a mostly minor league team, started the season with Nathan Peterman and no veteran qb on the roster, and the depth was so non existent that they could not play any facet of special teams well.

I don’t know if he starts but if he pushes Teller to be better that would be great. I think he will get a chance. Every player in camp should get a fair look.

New England won their first SB after they signed a large number of mid priced free agents to improve their overall roster. We we played a lot of rookies last year. Signing several quality veterans to reasonable contracts is the best way to improve the overall talent on the team. The money spent on AB is money taken away from improving other areas. Besides that AB is a sideshow that we don’t need.

Edelman is always overlooked when people talk about the best. Super Bowl MVP and all. I would take him over OBJ or AB.

Last year counts. His talent is not in question.

I always like BPA in first round. Since we have glaring needs at OL, WR, and DT, I would trade down and acquire another 2nd. Then I would hold those picks. We tend to trade up, hopefully not this time. Three picks in the first 2 rounds would be great. We also need help at RB, LB, TE, and DB, so more premium picks are helpful.

Some great ideas here. I’ll will only add we should do not overpay for big names just because we have cap space. The current regime has shown ability to draft and develop players. I think we are one step from a legitimate Wild Card team, and then another step to get to a legitimate contender. So I would save some cap space for the year after next to help sign our own players and to fill holes in 2020. Git ’er done Beansie.

Hardly a great quarterback but I agree that he should get a small break for age, lack of experience, and the fact he was playing Bellichek. He still sucked though. Bellichek had Brady. Wade had Goff. Not a fair playing field. The Rams offense looked like one of the least qualified ever to be in a super bowl. The defense did do a superb job of keeping the Pats* off the scoreboard though.

Free safety. - Henry Jones, Tony Greene, Steve Freeman. All better tacklers than Kelso. I think Saimes was a strong safety and I do not recall him returning kicks. Butch Byrd, a CB, was a very fine punt returner.

He was in the neutral zone. My dead grandmother could see it. New England had that same call too, last KC drive in regulation.

Regular season stats are only useless if you go the the playoff and win.

Great game to watch. HATED seeing the Pats* win. Totally disgusted by the NFL to decide a Conference Championship game in OT when only one team gets the ball. I get the reasons, injuries, players union, etc., but this is a shot at the Super Bowl. I wonder how the Chiefs feel, losing in OT and never getting a chance in OT?

Terrible non call, yes indeed. Fixed, maybe, but doubt it. Just as as bad was Payton’s clock management. He left the Rams with a timeout, he did not need a first down to burn both of their timeouts. Payton on TV complaining, he should shut up and answer as to why he burned a whole 11 seconds in 3 plays.

Yes, the ref blew the call,or the non call in this case. Sean Payton, certainly is a great coach, but today he blew it. First down with 1:56 left, in easy field goal range, and he throws a quick slant taking one second off the clock. The Rams had two timeouts left, the best strategy would be run two plays and make them use their timeouts. Sure you can throw on 3rd to pick up the first and run the clock down but burn their timeouts first. So they fail to convert on 3rd (the missed PI), the Saints have a 3 point lead but the Ram have 1 time-out and 1:45 to work with. The rest is history. The Rams used 1:30 and their last first down to score the tying FG. Had the Saints run those two down, and maybe even the third, the Rams have zero timeouts and about 50 seconds to work with. So yes, the missed PI was bad, but the Saints could have won in regulation with smarter clock management.

Both parties pursue narratives to buy votes. Then not much happens until the next election. Remember when the Democratic Party was the party of the unions and the common working man? Now many of these voters are identifying with conservative politics and voting republican. So the Dems are replacing those votes with others - appealing strongly to recent immigrants, younger women, LBGT, etc. Just keep in mind that these elected officials, no matter the party, spend their careers in DC politics working jobs paying $150K to $250K per year. Yet, they raise their families in high style and have bank accounts worth many Millions, even Hundreds of Millions. Does that sound right? One party wants to raise tax rates for rich but preserves tax loopholes, the other wants simplification and lower tax rates ... either way the rich will benefit most and you will essentially stay the same.
