  1. Thanks, as always, for keeping us informed, @YoloinOhio. I'd be horribly uninformed without you. Trubisky had a rough go of it in Chicago, for various reasons. A new situation next year, after learning from Daboll, Dorsey and Josh, will most likely rejuvenate his career. He has the physical tools to be a quality starter in the league. My only question is with his mental make-up. When he questioned whether the TV monitors in the Bears facility should be on, so he and his teammates had to hear all the negativity, that said a lot about his attitude. I'm just speculating here, but if that had been Josh, he might've asked for more monitors, and with the volume all the way up, so it could fuel his fire within. Hopefully he's learned from that, and doesn't let the outside noise get to him. Only time will tell.
  2. I'm hopeful he can fill the #2 spot one year from now. From what I hear from the weeds, he's got a Grade A QB mind, but the physical tools are average at best. I hope he can improve sufficiently this year, now that he's not exiled in Covid-free isolation.
  3. The Vikings fell for the Kirk Cousins fully guaranteed contract scam (TWICE!!), and now they need to invent reasons why they underachieve every year with a below average QB.
  4. Time to put that season ticket jackpot to good use!!!!
  5. Not enough of an upgrade to justify screwing a guy who took less money to stay. I know it's a business, but it's still a business amongst human beings, right?
  6. We've been watching Mahomes do his thing for the several years now, and we're used to it. But if there was some sort of swap done, and we had to watch Josh light it up with the Chiefs?? Well, that's like watching my ex-wife be happy with another guy. And that's no way to live!
  7. Never is an awfully long time. I think you underestimate the greed, and overestimate the moral compass of 32 billionaires. Very soon, when the headlines have died down, there will be a bidding war for his services.
  8. Temperamentally, Tyrod has always been solid. But he's a band-aid over a team's gaping wound at QB. Something more permanent is going to be needed soon.
  9. As an out-of-stater, training camp locale doesn't affect me, one way or the other. I would love to root for you locals to get as much access as you can stand. But I can't. I'm rooting for whatever gives the Bills the best chance to win it all this year. And I trust McBeane to make the right choice. Our championship window starts slipping downward next year, when Josh and Tremaine will cost a combined $35mil (which will be a bargain compared to the following years). Public relations cannot be a priority this year.
  10. Switch from sticky gloves to catcher's mitts. Seriously, though, I think Josh has learned to take the edge off of his fastball, when the situation calls for it. But when he has to zing it in there to make the completion, all our guys better cowboy up and make the catch. Or they can go catch lobs from Goff in Detroit, and go 4-13 every year. It's an occupational hazard in big boy football.
  11. It's not a slap in the face of the Bills. It's a bottom dweller trying to market hope to their fanbase. The catch was incredible, probably Hopkins' career signature catch. The way Murray had to contort to get the ball in the general vicinity of Hopkins was very impressive, too. The fact that the ball ended up in the perfect spot was pure serendipity. Two inches higher or lower, and that's the ballgame. I was down trodden about it at the time. But the fact that it galvanized the team for a dominant stretch run has softened the blow quite a bit since then.
  12. Doesn't the 1:00pm game cut into the Early Bird specials? LOL
  13. Exactly. That's why we needed to get a 1T in the draft. Even a 5th or lower would've been something.
  14. The Packers are going to trade Rodgers, to the highest bidder in the AFC. They're just trying to make it look to their fanbase like they did everything they could to keep him. They were obviously ready to move on from him. Otherwise, why trade up in the 1st round for a high profile QB? You don't do that for a backup. Rodgers threw a wrench in their plans by winning the MVP. Now the Packers FO can't sell it to the fan base that Rodgers' skills are slipping. Once they complete the "we'll do whatever it takes to keep Rodgers" dog and pony show, and Rodgers bad mouths the organization a few dozen more times, the trade will be made.
  15. https://www.nfl.com/news/lions-agree-to-trade-matthew-stafford-to-rams-in-blockbuster-deal-involving-jare "Detroit will acquire Goff, a 2021 third-round pick and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 in exchange for Stafford, per Pelissero." The Rams are screwed.
  16. That's one of the Rams picks that they traded to Detroit for Stafford. Apparently, tankathon thinks that that puts the Rams in the NFC Championship. I'm not buying it one bit!
  17. Until 20-25% of the salary cap goes to your QB. That's what closes the SB window, FAST!!
  18. http://www.tankathon.com/nfl/mock_draft is the same, only a different RB: Another Spiller???
  19. I'm fine with no startable CB or TE. But to completely ignore the 1 tech DL is baffling to me. Star is coming back. But A) what if he doesn't have it anymore, and B) what if he gets half way through camp and decides to hang it up for good? And if he is there this year, who else is in the 1 tech rotation? If they try to make Ed play it again, I'm going to lose my %&#$. He was drafted #9 overall to be our lightning bolt disruptor in the middle of the line. If that's how he's going to be used again this year, you might as well trade him for a true 1 tech, and let him shine in the role he was meant to have somewhere else.
  20. I think they're going to give the young and cheap Dane every chance to win the CB2 job. If that doesn't work, one more year of the Levi project. I think he's become the veteran backup, in a cap reduced world.
  21. The 49ers can't send next year's 1st. They spent that to get to #3. And the year after that, too. How do you make that trade??
  22. You are correct, sir! My bad, @mannc! Too many prospects with similar names to keep track of. I'm sure Beane will get it right on Saturday. 🙏
  23. It's Avery Williamson. I'm thinking we better use one of the 5th rounders, because he may not last until our #213 in the 6th. But he could be our KR/PR for at least the next 4-5 years.
