  1. thanks for sharing, these little pearls always make me stop and listen in esp when someone says something interesting or funny...such as its Hyde that comes over to talk to the coach during timeouts rather than Edmunds ? I wish they would show some of the reactions when things dont go well, the questionable ref calls, the reaction when a pick or fumble happen and not just the happy-clappy plays
  2. post-game analysis: the line opened holes for 175 rushing which is great; but Joey Bosa athleticism made the right-side look slow and bad all freaking game Dawson Knox looks like a one- dimensional pass-catching TE with drops which seem to have improved simply cuz they dont throw to him much or any of our TEs period. Have our safeties lost a jump-step I mean another hail mary gets answered and they looked flat-footed and slow we have given up the most point in the NFL in the second-half !!!...that is not what playoff teams do. All those turnovers in the second-half...that is not what playoff teams do. Still being gouged for big runs !!! ..that is not what playoff teams do. Another close win over a loosing team...sigh SF, Pitts, NE (road) Miami at home for perhaps the division title...here we go..hoping for the best..expecting the worst
  3. agree, coaches felt the line had some continuity-rhythm going after the Morse concussion and the press probed-wondered and the boards lit up about it...hoping we can get thru a game without a lineman getting hurt for a change...
  4. whatever it is its much better than an ACL injury and the depth at guard is likely our deepest on the OL, but still hurts, should be 100% for OTA and camp in 2021...2020 will just not stop with the bad news !!! sigh
  5. compared to the other major sports, the NFL enshrines more candidates and this in on purpose and I am fine with the concept...however the flipside is that more members actually diminishes the concept of limiting it to greatness and thus includes the very good...my pocket argument is that both Steelers WRs from their super bowl era are in: Swann and Stallworth...really do both players playing the same position on the same team belong ? Which one was better ? Hard to say because they were both great, or was one great and the other very good, or were they both very good and they got the advantage of the super bowl hype and rings ?
  6. in the 60 year history of the franchise there have only been twenty (20) punters who boomed and shanked for the Bills...my favorites include Paul Maguire - the guy played multiple positions: LB andd P and made it to NBC as football savant in the 1980s with lesser talent than he had on the field and he laughed like a drunk hyena... Spike Jones - he wore # 11 in the 1970s at the same time as Gil and Bob McAdoo did in the daze of my star-struck childhood in Cheekta-vegas and Marvelous Marv Bateman who boomed and shanked more than the average punter read em and weep fellas... https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/career-kicking.htm
  7. its must a bye week... yeah its great to see the O playing well despite the O line injuries and what I consider a lack of commit to the run game esp when the other team is blitz-crazy like the Cards were. The lack o punts also does not include any block and or fakes which I l believe are zero ?
  8. yes the good ones and bad ones happen - throw out the 72 and 12 yarders out and that is what you have...the timing was not good, we needed a boomer at that time and we got a shank///1970s Marv Bateman comes to mind he would boom and shank more than the average punter.
  9. head coach esp McD is not going to make this kind of surprise decision in a vacuum...I am sure he had the input of the O-Line coach and the OC...the O line has played well of late except for the running game and they went with a consensus...one play away from a win guys...its one regular season road loss with a bunch of guys out and we missed breaking it up by inches...
  10. Bill Adams who was a backup guard for several years during the Electric Company years...Frank Reich of course....Gale Gilbert held the clipboard for us for 4 years as the 3rd stringer, made it to a 5th straight SB with the Chargers and his son now is a NFL QB as well....
  11. if you have a cell phone and internet access ? not an absolute in Utica I know...consider the totally radical concept of streaming video: download the dofu sports app avail at the apple store or the google play store...it free and has all major league sports...sorry no Utica Comets, but hey you can do that in-person you lucky devil !
  12. as complete victory by the offense as I ever saw in 50 years of watching and or trying to watch the Bills; the play calls were great by the OC; Josh was at his best even tho sacked a bunch; the O-Line did the best they could and man the WRs with those patterns, catches and YACs...add a great game by the special teams and a crazy D effort against a great qb with a SB ring and perhaps the best WR in the game....maybe the best team effort victory this century ?
  13. great to see esp after I ripped on him big-time after a victory even..ok lets see if we can two in a row, on the road against another good mobile qb and a good team, here's hoping.
  14. it would be highly surprising or is it really ? to see Hackett get a job over former player and vet OC with a Super Bowl win on his resume Eric Bieniemy... Daboll is also going to be in demand I would suspect...which makes me wonder who the in-house candidate would be to replace ? Dorsey qb coach comes to mind first.. any other cerebral giants on this portal of higher thought have any pearls of wisdom ?
  15. we got plenty of banged-up guys ourselves so get well guys; do we do same gameplan that we did against KC whuch was hope and pray Might we stick with the new found running game this week and have it set up some play action or will regress to our mean and Josh ends up having to play hero qb
  16. promising stat that surely gives Ike some confidence Too small a sample size, NE D-line not that good and I like to throw-out the low and high score and also focus on the over or under versus the expected. We got Feliciano back just as Morse exited, having those two together would the best and Dawkins is a given. Winters becomes the depth behind Ford at RG I say with Williams doing a quiet steady job at RT. Feliciano-Morse-Ford would be our best interior lineup but it may not happen until Morse recoops,
  17. untradeable and most unfortunate..un-cut-able https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/aj-klein-12429/ Kleins cap numbers are unfriendly to cutting him without absorbing approx 4M in dead cap for next season and you cant do that given our 2021 cap and all the unsigned vets (Milano, Feliciano, the other G, the RT come to mind). Insert insulting cliche here... slow white guy who plays with high motor...not sure what they saw here in when they scouted-signed him other than maybe more of a match to replace LorAx than Milano.
  18. the analytics show strong correlation to decrease in these holding penalties to the same decrease in playing time for one Lee Smith...TE Bills...false starts are down as well... Bills had same number of penalties as NE which is strongest analytic of a close game...next question please
  19. it was a very 2020 win I feel good about it but not as good cuz of the leaky D and the lack of the home crowd cheering and enjoying it the pats are dead this year but the fins are coming on
  20. also I like was SF did last week - use speed on the edge as a counter to the run left - WR screens or jet end-around call here and there to attach the edge
  21. vary things a bit more like walk up and have an immediate snap instead of slow-walking and then the usual long, drawn-out usual hard-count where the D knows he doesnt get the snap until the play clock is down to 1-0 then maybe snap it on the first count this way the O keeps the D more honest its like playing poker, you dont want to show your hand until the end
  22. tie..between feliciano and bills fans for watching yet another season where we beat the mediorce teams (likely squeak into playoffs) and are able to see first-hand the glaring weakness of our D...Seattle and Arizona up next aint gonna be easy...the process seems to be stuck on recycle
  23. Bills have approx 4M in cap space, Beano has shown he trades during and at end of camp, not expecting any moves, that 4M carryover likely more helpful than a trade deadline move...
  24. ilkely Hyde, Butler, Knox, Norman to be ruled out for us Norman (hammy) and Butler have not given us much this season as expensive Carolina free agent adds not helping the D I hope Phillips and Johnson at safety get to play
  25. this defense misses the interior play, experience and space that Star has, makes it harder on the other DT (Oliver play has dipped as well) and Edmunds not going to make plays when the opponent offense is allowed to place a blocker squared-up on Edmunds as I am seeing at times
