  1. excellent read; the only new things are the history we dont know
  2. well if 50 million Elvis fans can't be wrong...what do 687,834,872 rick astley video views say...besides the fact he is the dreamy boy next door ????
  3. umh...Pats have a playoff caliber defense and coaching staff, the O will get better as the season progresses andi f the young qb does not progress he will be replaced. They had the usual strong draft in rounds 2 and 3 so the replacements are in place. The new and improved Bills under McBean Bills are 0-6 against the Pats, so until we beat them the Pats get the benefit of the doubt as in maybe not the div winner but a wildcard ? I am sure BB is motivated to proof that he can win and coach successfully without TB12
  4. age 36 he gets 2M broken down into 500K signing bonus 250k workout 1.250k salary 750k in dead cap if cut maybe they are leaning to cutting Bell and want a vet in the room is the only silver lining I see
  5. Shula coached against Halas and went5-4; only active coach left he coached against was BB and Shula was 2-0... old school guys: Halas, Lombardi, Landry, Shula, maybe Weeb Ewbanks (jets)...Ditka for charisma, chutzpah and Air Coryell for the passing innovations modern era; BB, Walsh, Noll, Madden, Parcells, Gibbs, Holmgren, Reid, Jimmie Johnson, Cowher..Bum Phillips and Glanville for some personality best of the rest: Perkins, Levy, Schottenheimer, best black coach ever - Tony Dungy ? maybe Bud Grant and Hank Stram and Pete Carroll and George Seiffert at 114-62
  6. lets see...Peyton and Eli Manning, Dak Prescott, Lock from Mizzou, Stafford Lions-UGA), and Tua was the first qb pick from Ala and of course the long history of Ala qbs starting with the 60,70,80s...come to mind without any effort...so your point again was ?
  7. I am excited by the Fromm pick; the kid is an over-achiever who has beaten the odds at GA; his teammates love him; his twitter profile name is hilarious;...Jake Fromm State Farm. The kid works very-very hard and is very smart (highest wonderlic score for all QBs this year) makes quick 1-2-3 reads and has played at the highest level of college football; is very humble and hungry...and gosh darn it has made an excellent first impression FWIW. Same agency as Josh so they are already introducing and texting on day one; Fromm is going to add to the qb room with questions and insights so I see this as a plus as well as learning from the others. Jake has the team first personality so I don't see the kid pouting over sitting as backup. I betcha that the Pats would have taken him right after us in the draft as he is the kind of guy BB desires as Pats ended-up not drafting a qb to which BB says "not by design"... Ying-yang with Josh, the uber athlete and Jake the uber intellect. I see Jake as more of a west coast qb, where they could possibly script 8-10-12 plays for him to come in as a change of pace to give Josh a break of if he does something stupid. Could this be a Kelly-Reich mutually beneficial relationship that last several enjoyable years ??? hopefully As far as arm strength, sure, but how many long throws did Josh make last year given that he only long sporadically and inaccurately ?
  8. its a deep draft for WR, CB, C - one each please; and grab the best P in college in round 7 on the way out
  9. Gil Brandt is 87 effing years old...he gets his info from a nursing aide so expect some discrepancies
  10. wrong-side of 30; doesnt fit the culture; big cap number; just dont see it based on the Bills mindset
  11. solid player - drop had to do with subpar combine where he ran 5.0+ 40 and only 17 bp - but looking at the edge taken before him his stats are just as good if not better and they didnt run or bp at the combine and or pro days canceled....was the top rated DE coming out of HS, one year starter yet his stats compare or better than those edge taken above him...athletic genes family is very good athletes including the ladies...one our existing DEs has to go; Trent and the cap savings or last year 7th rounder D Johnson...
  12. hybrid 6-1 or 6-2...220-225 lbs a big nickel that can play the run, cover TE and RBs in pass coverage and blitz so it confuses the offense by allowing more variety and diversity to your scheme and formations as such allows other LBs to blitz without sacrificing one slower in pass coverage. Can also play safety as backup and while developing experience will contribute on special teams. But I wonder if Dugger is gone before we pick what they would do ?
  13. when watching the Tua workout tape the one thing that stood-out to me scouting from my couch was which his lack of height-size, listed at 6-1, 218..same can said of Baker Mayfield who is the same height and weight...phish were drafting a QB at 5 no matter and he gets a year to develop, glad they did not get one of the top receivers but they are likely going to with the NE approach
  14. Hurts is the pre-draft hype or is it disinformation....Davis is a track star transitioning to football and plays stiff...Anae maebye
  15. its a deep draft for WR, CB and C...it would be a hoot to see more than 1 center drafted in the first round.
  16. I hope Kim Pegula isnt browsing this board (looking for lifestyle maintenance ideas amongst the cerebral giants that frequent this portal of higher thought) and makes a few calls to One Bills Drive
  17. ironic and true..his bro Gregg is the head legal at PSE and part of the exec leadership team at PSE now...you cant make this up, talk about a Buffalo kinda thing
  18. depth if Trey or Micah or Singletary sprain an ankle who can we rely on there is decent depth at several position groups but not all thats why I like a DB, edge, RB, WR, OL in that order - I would be happy with 5 picks this draft given Diggs acquisition makes 6 and trading up in the middle rounds for quality or quantity in the mid-range... if you want to draft a P in 7 round be my guest
  19. kmet is coming out - check the draft boards he is first or second rated TE - big guy his father played NFL and was drafted by our Bills in 1992 Kmet is also one heckuva baseball player and seems to be picking NFL over MLB career likely 2nd or early 3rd round pick - if we were to pick him this board would have a mushroom cloud over it for week
  20. historically the Bills have not run effective draws and screens...and I think Chan G ran the best ever schemes for us for screens more woeful history...yesterday Joe B from the Athletic had an article where he listed the stats for our TE over 60 years our top 10 for passing yards for TE were 1) the legendary Dave Costa 1967 with most yards..19 freaking effing 67 2) Charles Clay 3x and Scott Chandler x2. - name the greatest TE in Bills history and some will say Paul Seymour because of his blocking helped OJ..but pass catching TE - Pete M ? Charles Clay ? Scott Chandler ? 3) We dont have a TE with more than 725 yards passing in 60 years - we are one of three franchises to never have a TE collect 750 passing yards in a season and Jax is one of the others and they are relatively new historically speaking...so the on-going dialogue about drafting a quality TE will continue until...Dawson Knox develops or we draft one early (first round TE busts include Ruben Gant from the 70s and Tony Hunter the golden domer selected before Jim Kelly that year)
  21. 1. Bills have the least draft capital going into draft, but it all levels after the first round more or less 2. So unless they have a first round grade who slips into the 40s I dont see them moving up. 3. I dont see a RB having second round value based on other needs and depth. more of a 3 or 4th round choice where they have better chance of moving up. 4. CB or Buffalo Nickel is my hunch followed by edge or vice versa for rounds 2 and 3.
  22. not likely, check their cap numbers and they may have to move Thuney (G) to get relief existing pack of pics which exceeds current cap space brady was a mid-round pick, its the coaching ya know
  23. it was over for this dude after opening day 1977... he missed 2 kicks on that rainy day at home against the Dolphins when it was close game...during the zero for the 1970s run Shula and company laid on us; same more or less as Brady and BB did to us this past decade . He also went 3 for 15 from 50 yards plus for his career which lasted several years; hard to fathom why drafted (Bills 5th round) and why he last so long.
  24. the bloom is off the rose with the Pegulas...do they see a recession coming, did their vision change? Man years ago I thought working for a Buffalo professional sports org would have been a dream come true. They must have their reasons and they dont have to justify as plans and more importantly results change. They may have been overzealous in their vision, who knows for sure. I wouldnt want to work for PSE now and I have to wonder if other execs and even rank and file workers would have second thoughts about hiring on in the future Optics aren't good with the significance of the quantity and quality of jobs lost esp with a pandemic.
