  1. Bills 31 Patriots 21 Pats get a garbage time TD to make it look closer than it really was. Cook continues the streak of 100+ scrimmage yards and a TD.
  2. If Jackson misses the next 2-3 games and they lose all then that'll be a hard hole to get out from. I don't think that'll happen though.
  3. 100% I got some guesses as to why, but let's not go down that road on a football forum.
  4. A lot of yall have been out of school for too long to recognize that this kind of lecture is what good teaching is all about. This is probably an undergrad class that's not filled with Econ majors. He's taking an abstract concept and putting in terms that a lot of students will have had real world experience with, trying to watch their favorite team. That kind of teaching sticks in your head a lot better than just dryly reading out of a textbook.
  5. Man, if I heard "I love you" as many times growing up as Josh has said it during a single game my childhood would have felt way different.
  6. Sounds like Cheektowaga has a new favorite player.
  7. Dude's a huge jerk and abuser who happens to also be a good football player. Never actively rooting for anyone to be hurt but it's pretty hard to be empathic with a guy with an abhorrent past/values.
  8. He's right in a macro sense but wrong in the micro. Yes, good teams are often getting the benefit of the doubt when it comes to penalties. I think it's kind of silly to argue otherwise. No, that's not why they're calling PI on you Sauce, it's because of your reputation as a serial offender for PI (both called and uncalled). Refs know your reputation, and scrutinize you more.
  9. Once again Gwar is snubbed for the halftime show because the NFL are cowards. It would be the greatest half time show of all time. For real though, Bad Bunny is a popular choice and it makes sense as he'll draw in an important demographic for the NFL. Not for me, but anyone who grouses about the Super Bowl half time show seriously needs to get some perspective.
  10. Man, this was one of those games where it was way more stressful than it needed to be. Here are the positives: - Cook continues to look fantastic. - Allen can still take over a game when called on. - Cole Bishop had a pretty INT. - Deone Walker looks good. - Still won by two scores while looking like doodoo for huge stretches of the game. Now for the negatives: - The defense continues to be suspect. Here's the thing, if they could tackle I think they'd actually be really good, maybe even elite. They're often times in the right spot, but they just refuse to finish the damn play. It's infuriating. - The Special Teams unit. Is it bad that I said "no big loss" after the punter got assaulted? He was bad, the roughing penalty is the only positive he had all game. - Ryan Van Demark looked out of his element. He was a really apparent weak spot on the offense. - Deone Walker is the only defensive draft pick that's contributing right now. Not great. Last week I praised the Bills for their intentionality. This game seemed to have none of that, it felt frenetic, chaotic, and rudderless for a good portion of the game. Despite that, they still won by a significant margin and the game was never out of hand. Celebrate the win and let's hope they clean it up.
  11. Somebody else said it but the Bengals might give them a run for their money. Woody & Brick Johnson are hilariously dysfunctional though.
  12. I have a morbid curiosity for who would be worst if they were asked the reverse.
  13. He's the kind of player I hope the Bills would at least kick the tires on. Getting him in the building for a workout/sitdown seems like a no brainer.
  14. I think it depends on how legit you think the Chargers are. If you think the Chiefs are unlikely to win their division, I can understand hoping they win. Baltimore has shown over and over that they're a talented team but very sloppy. If you don't think they'll clean it up, you probably want Baltimore to win this game. I'm conflicted, but I lean Chiefs if there's a gun to my head. To be clear, the only thing I'm actively rooting for is both teams to get diarrhea on the field and mass retire from embarrassment.
  15. What are the chances that we can get Chris Olave to defect to the Bills?
  16. Tyreek Hill beats children and breaks a woman's leg on purpose: Allowed to play. Allen points at someone... "FINE HIM AND HIS FUTURE CHILDREN!"
  17. If it was obvious as a lot of posters keep saying it was, why didn't replay assist step in and overturn it? This seems very nitpicky, honestly. I haven't watched it since the broadcast, but I don't remember thinking it was obviously not a possession.
  18. I can understand that, but nothing about vanilla games in September are going to give us much insight on how they'll do in January. Coming into this game, Joe Marino was talking about the variety of blitz packages and 4-3 base defense they're running this season and how it's a departure from past years. It's hard to evaluate without Hoecht too.
  19. They played the way they did intentionally. They should have executed better on third down, and the D-Line needs to get home, but the soft zone is a coaching choice. They didn't believe the Dolphins could win with 10-15 play drives, and they proved it. They showed nothing on offense because they didn't need to. The game was about 4 plays on offense from being a blowout, without the missed field goal everyone is talking about this game differently.
  20. No, and I think it’s a conscious coaching decision to be boring until circumstances dictate we have to let it rip. The Bills are one of the most disciplined football teams in the NFL. They’re constantly methodically marching down the field and scoring, and they do it at a high level of execution most of the time. They’re daring other teams to do the same, and betting on the fact that they can’t, or that their variance is too high to make it sustainable for their opponents.
  21. Walker was projected to be a possible first round pick until he had the back injury season. I think it's clear that we got an incredible value there and he's got a lot of potential. We might be looking back at this draft and calling it a home run in a year or two.
  22. I think McD and Babich probably aren't losing any sleep about the secondary. The soft zone defense is an intentional choice and they wanted low event football. That's what soft zone will get you. I do think they'll be frustrated with the D-Line however. We got a lot of penetration but it wasn't effective often enough. We're missing guys there and the ones we have are young and learning on the job, so I think there's a lot of room to grow. Deone Walker flashed enough tonight for me to really take notice.
  23. The takeaway I have from this game is the intentionality of this coaching staff to commit to soft zone defense and basically saying "we don't think you can score fast enough to win". I personally hate it, but I think you argue about its effectiveness. I would like to see more aggression in the secondary. The D-Line just needs to be flat out better. They need to finish and hit the QB, Tua had all day in a timing offense and it burned us.
  24. Tom Brady is a known cheat who exploits the rules for his favor. Why wouldn't that bleed into his post-quarterback career? It's an obvious conflict of interest to be an owner of a team and a broadcaster with access to other NFL teams. He's not even a very good broadcaster.
