  1. I think the benefits of playing at home, in an empty stadium, outweigh the perceived benefits of playing on the road. Unless the game is played in a blizzard or some ridiculously bad weather, which it probably will not be. I think the empty stadium helps Josh a lot. I also think the routine of waking up in your own bed, etc., in a familiar stadium is a benefit. Not huge, but it's something.
  2. Beasley would have fit in very well on our previous Super Bowl teams. He seems like he is out there to win games and doesn't care about anything else. Takes his craft seriously. You can't have too many guys like this on a team, in any sport.
  3. It's not mirrors, it's photo-editing software and no, she doesn't look like that in real life. I suspect the entire thing was staged.
  4. I prefer the contrast created by the grey face mask. This combo isn't bad, but it's the reverse of the one I like best. Blue on top, white on bottom. I'm not really sure why they play with the uniforms so much. Is there any data on how well this stuff sells at the Bills store? People aren't buying red jerseys, for example, are they?
  5. Trap games don't exist; that's just nonsense discussed by sports fans, like a lot of other things. But we already knew that. Why this thread now?
  6. Voted hard no. Doesn't mean we can't honor Josh in some other way, maybe even by naming something after him. WNY has already been graced with a name from the Allen family in a place of honor--that's the new wing at the hospital with his grandma's name on it. That makes a lot of sense. Allentown has a huge amount of history...you don't change that IMO.
  7. I think the #1 seed is a bridge too far for this team, this year. But that is OK. Seedings aren't as important as matchups. We could lock into a better matchup, ironically, by getting a lower seed. Depends on what's happening all around us. It's too early to know how this is all going to play out.
  8. I really hope there is a voice somewhere inside this team that is urging everyone to forget about everything until they win a Super Bowl. It all means NOTHING without a Super Bowl victory. I feel that is what was lacking on the Super Bowl teams.
  9. Just thought of Jason Peters---instant and huge upgrade to the OL. I'll add him to my list with Gilmore.
  10. I'll take Gilmore. Having 2 total shutdown corners in the same backfield would really free up the coaching staff to do some fun and creative stuff on defense. I think he could add more raw impact to the team than any other single player, so I'll take him. I would prefer to take a dynamic playmaking TE, which is what this team needs badly....but there weren't any of those during the drought years!
  11. For several years I was obsessed with EVH's red/white/black frankenstrat, as I was making a replica of my own. I am now wondering what has become of that with Ed's passing. I assume Wolfgang has it, but don't really know. The value of that just went through the roof. I think Clapton's Blackie fetched around $1,000,000 at auction. I would value Ed's guitar similarly.
  12. Funny story. Try to listen "tape delayed" by an hour or 2. They very nicely record all content, suck out the commercials, and make it available on the website. I now only listen this way, often a day behind. It doesn't really matter to me and it's worth it to avoid the commercials and breaks. I also notice that all the shows have "BS" periods built into them where the guys talking don't want to actually do their jobs. They go into "tell a bad joke" mode or start talking about what their child ate for breakfast. You can FF those segments too and actually get to the meat of the show, if there is any on that day.
  13. The team I don't want to see, aside from the best teams like KC, is Tennessee. It's a bad matchup for us, they handled us easily last time around, and I think we would have a very difficult time winning in a second matchup.
  14. Yes, but 2 rather small markets.
  15. I thought of this thread at the end of last night's amazing game. Reports of Lamar's demise seem to be greatly exaggerated.
  16. I have mentioned this exact phenomenon a few times here. I grew up a Red Sox fan and only knew losing for a long time. Then 2004 happened and yes, it changed me forever as a fan. Nothing matters any more. The Sox can be good, bad, great, terrible...it doesn't matter. We got the monkey off our backs, it's never going back on, and that first WS championship changed me forever as a Red Sox fan. I do believe the same will happen to me as a Bills fan if we were to win a Super Bowl...and a whole lot of other Bills fans too.
  17. Don't agree the NFL has "become a joke" but I totally agree that you can't compare Kelly's era with Josh Allen's. The game has changed that much. The spirit of Kelly's comment, though, was that he sees Josh Allen growing into a more accomplished QB than he was. That will take some doing, but it would be hard to argue against Josh being, by quite a bit, the better athlete.
  18. Nothing surprising here. He has been super consistent all season long. He is the most consistent performer on the team.
  19. What a terrible series of plays.
  20. That's a big 2 point conversion. 🤢
