  1. I'm wondering what the process will be for "substitute" ticket holders to get in the stadium on game day, when those ahead of them fail to provide proof that they don't have COVID. There's going to be a certain % of ticket holders who aren't going to get in and there should be others allowed to take their place.
  2. Read above. Sounds like going through list of season ticket holders who opted in for this season, going by seniority.
  3. A dedicated thread focused solely on getting tickets and what we have learned/know so far is a great idea. I think there would be a lot of interest in that, even among those who will not attend, like me. This thread will quickly fill with garbage devolving further and further from the topic heading. Not specifically stated, but implied IMO. No opposing fans allowed.
  4. This needs its own thread. Breaking news....fans can go, with quite a few restrictions. But this is still good news
  5. A number of these Boston Dynamics videos are fakes. Don't know about this one. But the underlying point remains valid. I was listening to a good discussion the other day about artificial intelligence. One of the researchers pointed out that once we get something that works and works well, it will be able to learn and progress so quickly that, for example, it might be capable of solving Nobel Prize type scientific problems like every 5 or 10 seconds. The people who are working on this assure me it will happen in our lives. Maybe even in 20 years, some suggest as little as 10. They tend to be biased and over-optimistic in my opinion, but still. It's coming. Just a question of time. AI and genetic breakthroughs that massively increase human lifespan are coming and relatively soon. 2 of the biggest human advances, ever, and we're close to that point in time right now. Kind of exciting in a way.
  6. I just abandoned "DARK" on Netflix after 7 episodes. I had heard that it had a slow start and you needed to give it time. Seems to be pretty popular. I gave it too much time! Just a very derivative, not-super-well-done show. Couldn't find a character I liked to save my life. Kind of a dreary vibe, very slow moving, it's like 2 out of 5 star fare for me.
  7. Do you think the folks in DC thought RG III was headed for the HOF early in his career? The guy looked like the best QB of all time for a while. There is thread here suggesting Lamar Jackson is going to *still* wash out of the league after also looking like the second coming at times in his early career. Wentz just got benched, after looking like the best QB in recent Philly history, especially during their Super Bowl year. Can we ease off the HOF discussion, just let things play out, and enjoy the ride for a little bit? This team is in as good a groove as they have been in in 25 years. And it's happening RIGHT NOW. Just enjoy it.
  8. I totally agree with you. The important thing is that, some time during this season, the Bills became one of the more intelligent/analytics-focused teams in the league. McDermott is not doing the same dumb stuff anymore and we are more apt to go for it on 4th down, punt less, go for 2 extra points when appropriate, and so on. His challenges still need work, but the in-game tactics have improved greatly. These guys also seem to get the huge importance of a pass-first attack, and it's why I am so big on our team right now. Haven't been this big on them since the Super Bowl years. I keep dreaming of them adding a stud TE who can run and catch and what that could open up for our offense, which is already firing on all cylinders. And the funny thing is that the "experts" who comment on the game never got the email that the game has changed. The conventional wisdom surrounding the game of football is extremely low IQ. Always has been.
  9. It's going to be a very interesting Sunday with so many moving pieces and this many possible outcomes. There's really no way to know who we might play, which is kind of fun.
  10. I wish I had more hands so I could give that song 4 thumbs down.
  11. I agree with you! The game is grossly over regulated as it is. We don't need to make it more complicated, make it simple. Eliminate the divisions, best X number of teams from each conference go to the playoffs with tie breakers so there can't be ties. Simple.
  12. Some people believe in these football-isms as though they were etched in stone by God. "Thou shalt not play a division opponent; division opponents are tougher than regular opponents" and so on. The reality is it is all about matchups and the "better" team to play is the one you match up better against. I would rather play the Dolphins than a number of the other candidates this year, because we are the better team in the matchup. The fact that they are in our division, or that it might be the 3rd match up in the season, etc., are almost meaningless concerns in contrast. The Dolphins also don't have an elite QB, unlike a bunch of other teams we will have to worry about at some point, should we get far enough.
  13. The Rex situation is not really analogous as that was all done behind closed doors and only came out after the team and coach parted ways. The Jets have come out and formally announced the termination of their coach, but only after the season ends. That's f-ed up.
  14. One reason why I am so optimistic right now is because we are FINALLY one of the teams that looks like it is going to go out and get its points no matter what the opponent does, and if that opponent can't match, they lose. This is how you win football in 2020. I have faith we will get ours; the other teams need to worry about getting theirs.
  15. Sounds like a nickname for some illicit activity. "Hey, has anyone seen Bob?" "I think he's in the bathroom elevating his Jackson."
  16. Worked well for the Bills during the Super Bowl years. We always owned Miami, no matter when we played them.
  17. Seems to be a curious way to do business, but this is the Jets we are talking about.
  18. Whether Patriots fans realize it or not, that organization is going to be lost in the wilderness until they find a way to get a franchise QB again. As we know well around here, that could take a while.
  19. Beasley will sit/rest this week, and I think many other 1s will do the same thing, especially with Pittsburgh standing down as well. They will try to move heaven and earth to get him in there for the first playoff game. This could be a really boring type of game (Miami), but that's OK. The hype and build-up leading to our first playoff game, whoever it is against, is going to be off the chart.
  20. So what are the predictions for the 2 big games on New Year's day? I think Alabama wins it all, but I hope I'm wrong! I have my eye on the Cotton Bowl. Could be a good game. At this time of year I just enjoy all the games and want to see great, evenly fought football if we can. I don't really have a dog in the fight, which can be freeing.
  21. Thanks for posting that. I will try to get one of these in the next time I am in town.
  22. That's a minute of my life that I'm never getting back.
  23. I mean the actual sound of their voices; they really sound alike.
