  1. Does this mean the Colts will be in their all white look? They never seem to play well like that. Or is that just me?
  2. Glad Beasley can play, but I wonder if he is at 100% or in risk of re-injuring himself. Keep an eye on him early. If this tips in our favor early, maybe he sits on the bench.
  3. Looks like it will be partly sunny, partly cloudy throughout the game. No precipitation. Temps a touch above freezing.
  4. In the first video, who is driving the Roller at the :40 mark? 😂
  5. No linebacker, for either team, will dictate the outcome of this game. The quarterbacks will, and I think ours is better. If Josh continues to play as he has, Indy has trouble keeping up and we win.
  6. Their new favorite trick is the commercial break despite the fact that they are not actually in a commercial break. They just stop covering the game, usually for 30 seconds, and kind of do a commercial while showing the field in a smaller split screen. You have to record these games and watch about an hour late. Even then, I find it annoying how frequently I have to reach for the remote and FF. These games are 1 long commercial interrupted now and a gain with brief snippets of football.
  7. Listening to John Clayton's segment from WGR-550 yesterday. He said he feels Bills vs. Colts is the most interesting of the 6 matchups this weekend. Young QB who "needs to learn how to win in the playoffs" vs. veteran QB who knows how to win. I don't really agree with the "learning how to win" trope, but I thought his comment was interesting.
  8. That is what I would have thought too. You don't wash lucky socks...you keep wearing them and NOT washing them. This is why a lot of baseball player's caps look disgusting and are covered in white salty sweat stains. Like this:
  9. I have commented on this. Very small crowds have made what I thought was a lot of noise watching on TV this year. No doubt the small crowd will still make some noise. I also assume everyone is spread out and they are filing up the entire stadium. Does anyone know if that is true? Are they putting people in the upper decks and using all the real estate to get some space? If they do, there is going to be tons of empty space around everyone there, and I suppose people could kind of nudge over toward the play as the ball moves up and down the field. Cheat a little...if the ball is on the Colts 12 yard line, get the crowd to cheat over to the Indy side of the field. If the ball comes back over the 50, cheat back that way. You can't do that with a full house, but you could probably do a little of that for this game.
  10. Yep, me too. Josh clearly has a panic mode which can get ugly. When he's in it, he'll do anything, and none of it is good. Maybe he has grown out of that, but we haven't seen it in a long time. I think the empty stadiums contributed to this. I don't think it's the sole factor, but it played a part. I would think lack of noise, chaos, confusion, and crowd-infused adrenaline would help almost everyone on the field, for both teams, both sides of the ball.
  11. If we play as we have been playing, the Colts will be in trouble and will have trouble keeping up. We need to score touchdowns and get our points.
  12. Relaxed and confident is great. Cocky and over-confident is bad. I hope they stay on the right side of that line.
  13. It is because of Barnwell's intelligence, not despite it, that he says things like momentum doesn't exist in sports. It doesn't. NFL football's IQ is rising all the time right now. The old ways of "football guys" doing the same dumb stuff over and over are coming to a close. Thank goodness.
  14. Yeah, the stats above do not include the final game against Miami. That was all from an article published on 12/31/2020.
  15. These honors are just another way in which the current team reminds one of the Super Bowl era Bills. Back then, we used to send a small army to the Pro Bowl each year and it was always fun to see who and how many would go. Winning the division? Being expected to win and advance in the playoffs? Having one of the top QBs in the league? having a bunch of Pro Bowlers on the team? Having some of the best passing seasons in franchise history? This current team/era is (hopefully) similar to the Super Bowl teams, but maybe with an even higher ceiling. Who knows. I'll settle for 1 Super Bowl victory. Everything else is gravy.
  16. Diggs is almost inarguably a top 2 wide receiver now, league-wide. From Jeff Kerr at CBS Sports: * FOLLOWING NUMBERS AFTER 15 GAMES* Most receptions (first season with new team) Stefon Diggs (2020 Bills) -- 120 Brandon Marshall (2012 Bears) -- 118 Wes Welker (2007 Patriots) -- 112 Terance Mathis (1994 Falcons) -- 111 DeAndre Hopkins (2020 Cardinals) -- 111 Most receiving yards (first season with new team) Brandon Marshall (2012 Bears) -- 1,508 Randy Moss (2007 Patriots) -- 1,493 Santana Moss (2005 Washington) -- 1,483 Stefon Diggs (2020 Bills) -- 1,459 Henry Ellard (1994 Washington) -- 1,397 Most receiving yards per game (first season with new team) Bobby Mitchell (1962 Washington) -- 98.9* Stefon Diggs (2020 Bills) -- 97.3 Brandon Marshall (2012 Bears) -- 94.3 Randy Moss (2007 Patriots) -- 93.3 Art Powell (1963 Raiders) -- 93.1* *14-game season Most receiving TD (first season with new team) Randy Moss (2007 Patriots) -- 23 Art Powell (1963 Raiders) -- 16* Terrell Owens (2004 Eagles) -- 14 Harold Jackson (1973 Rams) -- 13* Lionel Taylor (1960 Broncos) -- 12* Patrick Jeffers (1999 Panthers) -- 12 Bob Shaw (1950 Cardinals) -- 12* *14-game season *Stefon Diggs has 8 TD in 2020 Diggs still has an opportunity to extend his receptions record and has a chance to pass Moss for the most receiving yards in his first season with a new team. Diggs needs just 50 yards to pass Moss and needs to get to 1,584 receiving yards to surpass Mitchell for most receiving yards per game in his first season with his new team -- so he needs 125 yards to set that mark (he currently has the record for a 16-game season). Moss is the gold standard for the best season for a pass catcher in his debut season with a new team (98 catches, 1,493 yards, 23 touchdowns) as the 2007 Patriots went 16-0 in the regular season --and reached the Super Bowl. Terrell Owens isn't far behind with the 2004 Eagles (77 catches, 1,200 yards, 14 touchdowns), playing a major role in the Eagles getting to the Super Bowl for the first time in 24 years. Brandon Marshall had the most receptions and currently holds the receiving yards record for a pass catcher in year one with a new team, as the Bears finished 10-6 in 2012 -- but missed the playoffs. Diggs already has the most catches and is expected to surpass Marshall in receiving yards on this list. He'll be in the conversation for the best first season for a wide receiver with a new team regardless, but the Bills' success in the postseason will determine if Diggs deserves to be No. 1.
