There is nothing wrong with any of your analysis there, but I remain scared to death of Tennessee. Probably irrationally so. But it is a bad matchup for the Bills and it's the one I would avoid if I could (leading up to my assumption that all roads ultimately run through KC at some point in time). The irony is that Tannehill is one of the least scary QBs in the AFC playoffs, but it's still a bad match up for us on a team-wide level.

I can never tell Griese apart from Riddick. They both sound remarkably similar to my ear, and I don't know either well enough to know which person would be likely to say what. I thought they were (both?) brutally honest last night, with most of the venom directed at New England. I was really enjoying it.

Your last paragraph is where I'm at too. I think some Bills fans might not realize just how fast that last little bit of development can come. It doesn't have to be progressive for the next few years, getting a little better each season. It can be right here, right now, and I think we have a solid 1 in 5 shot at winning the Super Bowl this year, maybe better than that depending on how the playoffs develop. At this stage of the game, the only approach to adopt as a Bills fan is to go all in and hope for greatness. If we don't quite get there, so be it.

I actually really like this Dolphins team. Their D is fantastic, I love how they approach football, and the organization is definitely moving--quickly--in the right direction. It's crazy how fast it has happened, but New England could be lost in the wilderness for quite a long time trying to find their next QB. In the meantime, we might be entering an era of fighting with the Fish for the AFC East, just like in the good old days! That rivalry has been DEAD for years and years...but man, it could be back and be back big time, starting RIGHT NOW. I would LOVE to see it again.

Honestly, I am not feeling like that at all. I've bought in, I guess. We have been playing better each week for a while now, the D seems to be back, and Josh Allen is settling in as one of the best 4 or 5 QBs in the league, sometimes better than that! If Josh can stay at this level for his career, we are going to be doing a ton of winning. I also love that we are somewhat coming out of nowhere to be where we are now. This team can win the Super Bowl THIS YEAR.

I was going to post something similar. The game broadcast guys have a support team handing them cheat sheets to help prepare for these games. The quality of that information is not always as accurate and up to date as it could be! The corporate line on Edmunds remains what it is around when he was drafted--freak of talent, high producer sort of stuff. The reality is he is a disappointment. Watch how often an offensive player is able to push Edmunds to a spot that Edmunds doesn't want to be in. He goes along for the ride all the time. Milano gets off those blocks and still manages to make a stop. Their totally different classes of player IMO.

Reminds me of the time he did the same with an iPad. He's a perfectionist who is used to getting his way. When things don't go right, he snaps like a child. He is probably a giant pain in the ass to be around.

Josh Allen Passer Rating Through The Year
Nextmanup replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm surprised the graph looks the way it does, to be honest. My subjective take would be that Allen's game has had ups and downs, but that the "ups" have steadily gotten higher throughout the year, with a steady, gradual progression measured against setbacks now and again. He's playing his best football right now, and he seems to be improving all the time. -
Bills are now #2 AFC Champ, #4 Super Bowl contender
Nextmanup replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills have been getting better and better each week for quite a while now, and are playing their best football of the season RIGHT NOW. Talk about playing the right way at the right time. Every last decision this organization makes starting right now needs to be considered in the context of winning the Super Bowl. How do we WIN the Super Bowl? That is the question. If we fall short, so be it. This is why I have no problem with, and probably support, sitting everyone against Miami. -
What JC Jackson said to Stefon Diggs

I would like to know what BB said to McDermott when they shook hands after the game. It was a longer than normal exchange and most Bills fans assume it was all pleasant and classy. It may have been, it may have not been. Did McDermott say anything about it after the game? I didn't listen to any post game stuff yesterday night. -

Shhh. He's rolling. Sports fans love to talk about this type of thing. Someone will mention "momentum" soon. -
Steelers officially playing backups vs Browns
Nextmanup replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm amazed at how many here want us to play the 1s against Miami. We have a genuine shot at going on a run THIS YEAR and "home field advantage" has never meant LESS. One serious injury to a key player in that Miami game and the entire run could be jeopardized. We need all our top weapons firing at 100% throughout the playoffs, on offense and defense. -
I would argue "home field" does have some advantages still, as you mention, but that the "home field advantage" has never been smaller in the COVID era. Especially if you are playing a road game in an empty stadium.

Bill Cowher vehemently supported the "rest now" approach on Sunday, during one of the studio segments. He said he knew that if it was him still running the show in Pittsburgh, he would take "being healthy" over fighting for the seeding situation. I would not be surprised whatsoever if he called Tomlin and put in his 2 cents on that; In fact, Tomlin may have called him. Current/former head coaches of the Pittsburgh Steelers are a rather small fraternity!
-
If a first round bye was at stake, yes, you play the game to win and get the better seed. Now that that is gone, however, you can make a strong argument to go either way. Rest the players and know your best players are healthy for the playoffs can be argued to be much more valuable than a seed improved by 1 slot.

For what it's worth, Bill Cowher suggested yesterday that he would definitely prefer to be healthy (sit the 1s) than worry about seeding.

This team is playing as relaxed and loosey-goosey as I recall seeing. If they play like this in the playoffs, there is no limit to what they can achieve. -
