  1. Flipping this around for a moment, for years now I have realized I follow the Bills and even more so the Sabres out of raw, sheer, force of habit. I.E., had I not been hooked as a kid, I wouldn't be following either now. My childhood brain was brainwashed to get excited over a Bills and Sabres game, and that's why I still watch, out of habit. The Sabres have been more or less unwatchable for almost a decade now, and I almost never miss a game. I literally think "Why am I watching this?" and it's just because that's what I do on a random Tuesday night in the winter...watch the Sabres, if they are on. My 2 nephews, both born and bred in Buffalo, do not really follow any Buffalo sports at all. They are HUGE English Premiership soccer fans, however, and both play soccer. Times are changing I guess.
  2. Richmond Webb SHUT DOWN Bruce on many occasions. He was a great OL. So was Keith Simms on that same Miami OL.
  3. So what's the point? That Brady is a douche bag? We already knew that. He's still the GOAT.
  4. We have a LOT of non-traditionally timed games coming up! When was the last time it was like this?!
  5. I have now finished "The Queen's Gambit" on Netflix and relished it slowly, only allowing one episode per viewing. It's only 7 one-hour episodes and it goes by quickly. One of the most enjoyable shows I've seen in several years. If you have Netflix, sit down and start watching! You won't regret it.
  6. There was a thread on trading cards just a few weeks ago. I got into NHL hockey cards for a small period of time in undergrad, then never went back to it. Never got into football cards at all.
  7. Aside from lots of obvious comments already made (about investing to get rich or nailing more chicks, etc.) I think I would say something about being more aware of my youth, relishing in it, and making the most of it because it won't always be around. How you say that in 3 words I'm not sure. Basically, I wish I was more aware and appreciative of the benefits of being young when I was younger.
  8. This question is kind of like asking "of all the kisses you have given your sister, which was the best?"
  9. I would like to see them put top resources into Offense. Make the OL better, get a real TE who can run and catch, maybe even try to upgrade the WR corps, as good as it has been. Not sure it can't be made better.
  10. Your comments remind me of myself in terms of how I approach the team. I am constantly trying to look forward and assess how good we are and where we are going, in an objective way. All season I assumed we would be 1 and done in the playoffs. Then we beat Seattle and it really surprised me. Now, I'm not sure. We have a shot at winning 1 playoff game, depending on who we play. The NFL is all about match-ups and some possible playoff matchups might favor us, others favor the opponent. I assume most posters here will want to kill you for daring suggest we are not obviously a dynasty in the making.
  11. There is an "A" ball stadium maybe 10 minutes from where I live, in Jupiter, FL. I believe the team that plays there is in the Florida Marlins system. The stadium looks relatively new and nice, but it is small. I have never gotten over there for a game but should; it looks like a fun day at the ball park and I assume you can buy a good ticket 5 minutes before the game starts, for less than $10. Maybe I'm wrong on that, I don't know. I have never watched baseball played below the AAA level (in Buffalo) but I assume A ball players are good enough to be entertaining enough to watch. I had tickets behind home plate for Nats games in DC for a few years, and did the same in Buffalo many years ago for Bisons games, when they were affiliated with the Pittsburgh Pirates. I could hear the "zip" of the ball when the pitcher threw it in either ball park just the same. And the ball seems to have hit the catcher's glove with just as much power. I was always amazed at how loud it is.
  12. I may be biased, but I'm going to say that Josh Allen is the greatest player in the history of the game.
  13. You really can't work on improving "defensive turnovers".
  14. She looks like, and has the proportions of, a man.
  15. Impossible to make a list like this. You have to narrow it down to musical genres and try to start there. David Gilmour, EVH, SRV, and Eric Johnson (for example) can't be compared directly; they are all some of the best guitarists of all time, but express their musicality in totally different styles. All you're going to end up with a list like this is a group of people whose names we already know.
  16. Hopefully they aren't as concerned about the "run game" as they say they are. They have shown otherwise this season, for the first time in my memory. That's a good thing.
  17. Don't think so. The NFL is highly motivated to find a way to get the season in, and they will. If these games have to be moved out of state, so be it. You can argue the home field advantage is not that great these days in most games anyway.
  18. I felt much better about this loss tan I did the New England win. We played better against a much better opponent, and should have won but for a miracle. For me, it was easy to take. In contrast, we probably should have lost against NE, played much more poorly, and NE is TERRIBLE this year. Shows you the value, or lack thereof, of wins and losses in assessing if a team is good or bad.
  19. You mean the new one. It's way better than the original UCS set.
  20. I just finished the first episode of "The Queen's Gambit" on Netflix. All I can do is add to the enthusiastic response already referenced in this thread. It's a seriously well done show and I am enjoying it greatly!
  21. I agree about our offense; easily the most encouraging it has been since the Super Bowl years. So then why does everyone around here B word about our run game and the defense? I just wish Josh ran more and in a more dynamic way. It's still the best thing he does.
  22. I was going to say the same thing more or less. ALL of the Superbowl losses were so huge the stuff on the OP's list hardly registers on the scale, at least for me. Can't fault the OP for being young...his list only covers his time as a fan.
