  1. AFC Title game inside of 3 years. Nuf said about McBeanes. Next question?
  2. kinda fun to watch the struggles of "America's team" . gonna be a while before they are relevant
  3. yeah, Simms is a straight shooter; doesn't really seem to be one of those to say things to just stir up views and clicks. I've never seen Wilson play so there's that, so there will be a bias towards Lawrence bc of his exposure, but Josh had no exposure and he turned out better than all in his draft class.
  4. yeah, once they pay Murray that team will fall apart.. no way they can keep all these $15m per year guys .. Murray will not get them to the promised land and they will end up in salary cap jail to boot
  5. I imagine his agent told him this was his last big contract, so probably should go for the biggest $$ . Can't imagine Beane was offering $31m ... he doesn't have $15m cap hit in 2021 to spend.. if he's spending $15m per year, spend $12 on Milano and get a much younger guy.. I'm not big on giving big $$ contracts to aging shiny objects... you end up with just them and a bunch of rookies and UDFAs
  6. not gonna judge a 21 year old just yet, but 2 pro bowls don't make any sense either... this year will tell all with Star coming back to protect him from o lineman
  7. Keep him. He and his wife are a blessing to the organization. He can play enough for a game or two. If Josh goes down for the season, the team is f'd. Simple as that in todays NFL for any team with a $40m QB.
  8. agreed, but back then (in my case, I'm pretty old) if you blew out a knee they really didn't know how to fix them very well.. so best to pass in my case
  9. I was good enough, but not good enough for the recruiters to give me a scholarship to play (Colgate). So I didn't as I was pretty banged up coming out of HS (DE, OT) and could see myself getting blown up pretty good by much bigger guys at the college level ( I was young and lighter for my grade). Would have been fun to try to earn the scholarship after 1 year, but glad I did not. Pro game is very recognizable to me albeit executed with so much more size, complexity, speed and talent. The game is still pretty much the game.
  10. Agreed. Lax is tremendous. Plus he already has his SB ring (something no one on the Bills can say). Now he can go back what is probably his favorite sport. Well done. go have some fun.
  11. I think Dick Butkus would be good as well. He's only 78.
  12. yep. franchise-tagging guys won't really happen this year. You could see lots more trades for picks than normal to dump salary and manage the cap.
  13. sure. just don't break the bank for the shiny object.
  14. Bobby Ross years ago as head coach also, he went to Chargers instead. Pretty sure the wifey was right on that one... easy choice that one. Frankly, if you were a single rock star pro athlete with no ties to WNY, making millions per year, all things being equal, why would you consciously choose WNY over any west coast or southern team?? Answer: 9 times out of 10 you would not. The Bills being good now changes the calculus for sure, but the Bills needing to overpay-for-FA phenomenon will always be an issue to contend with, unless the player is a family guy or has ties to the area or both. Do you think Daboll would have come if he had no ties to the area and had other identical offers? Don't think so...
  15. A lot can and will happen between now and September to invalidate chunks of that historical data. Free agency will be wild this offseason and IR type injuries will wipe teams chances out before October even starts, so there's that. Every season stands on its own, But hey, thanks for the numbers....
  16. We all saw yesterday what a broken O Line does to an otherwise dominant team. You can't recover from a bad or broken O Line. And every team saw that yesterday and will be protecting their O Line guys. Its a good day to be a solid O Line guy in the NFL. You will get paid. Beane will be sure to have his replacement lined up before letting him walk.
  17. but getting a big time pass rusher at 30 cannot happen... these are top 5 pick type guys
  18. Where the H were all these KC defensive holding/PI penalties last week??????????? Man this is frustrating. Sure, correct the officiating this week. Terrific.
  19. IMO Brady has a bunch of rings partially bc they won the division and had home field so so many years. The Pats were most times in the best position to get to the SB , and history shows having byes and home field throughout the playoffs is massive. Pats only played 4 wild card games in 20 playoff years since 2000, bc they won the division almost every year. My point is that they manufactured this in large part bc the other AFC East teams were so badly run top to bottom for two decades. Been watching lots of Bills games from the 2000's and those teams were just so so average. Jauron, Mularky, Chan, Rex, EJ Manuel, Trent Edwards, Fitz etc etc... just so bad. So yeah the Pats were well run top to bottom , but the rest of the AFC East has been such an NFL doormat for so long that the Pats had no competition -- they were 5-1 or 6-0 in the Division b4 the season ever started. Net, net, Brady deserves whatever accolades he gets, no problem (In fact, I'm hoping he wins one today to (1) get a SB for Arians, who deserves one for what he brings to the game and (2) Bills need a blueprint to follow for beatings the Chiefs) but remember that the rest of the AFC East was equally as badly run as the Pats were well run. God bless Ralph for keeping the team in WNY but IMO he ran a half-baked, backwater operation full of amateurs for close to two decades as he aged, to the Pats benefit.
  20. what a stupid post. the guy is a boomer, by the stats, probably the best punter talent in the league. sure let him walk. yikes the offseason is slow. Covid fatigue has hit me hard.
  21. When Star is back in front of him, he will be better.
  22. He wants to be a starter, so this is a dead idea. Plus , with the cap at $175m, no way Beane burns anymore $$ on QBs beyond Josh. I assume He needs to put max cap $$ on guys who will actually be playing.
