So far Mahomes looks good. So did RG3! In fact they seem like similar players to me! The jury is still out!!

Their not as good as I hoped but about what I expected. Defense is by far the better of the two but they have some holes. Cornerback has not been solidified other than White. Lb has some issues at times. Milano makes some plays and then will give up some, same as Edmunds but there is great potential there! Especially Edmunds! Man he got to Rodgers QUICK on that sack!!! The pass rush needs Alexander to be at least somewhat effective. Now on the Offense! Things are tough right now for Allen. Ideally when you play a rookie you want to have an experienced o-line, especially center. At least one very good receiver, many times it’s a tight end. A productive, solid run game. All running a scheme that is not brand new to everyone! Allen has none of those!! Mahomes has all of those plus more. He sat a year and the scheme is very familiar at least to the whole offense. I would argue that Darnold and even Baker have better situations RIGHT NOW. Things will get better if they push thru and keep working, but probably not till at least mid season. They need leadership to come from somewhere on that o-line.To me a center has to be a top priority this off season. The only conclusion I can come to with KB is he must be playing hurt. He has a hard time not only catching but holding onto the ball upon contact. This is just not like him at all! Zay appears no better than last year as far as route running and YAC. Holmes is a decent 3rd receiver and that’s it.Foster.....yikes! Allen has been a lot of what I expected! Young....sometimes I find myself saying “how did he do that?” Other times it’s “why did he do that?” Two things going forward! Hope he can stay healthy because he took a beating on Sunday!! And, I want to see him learning from his mistakes and progressing! Like Edmunds is doing! Those two could be good, REALLY GOOD!!

Two points I agree with. You have to pound Pettine’s def. with the run and force them to lay off on the blitzing. While his def. can bring a lot of heat they can be exploited on up the middle. Daboll failed here! Josh absolutely plays well when he doesn’t have pressure in his face and can step up and throw. Just like almost every QB! His mechanics are there and he can go through the progressions. Credit the Packer def. they got pressure in his face and did a really good job of tackling him when he did tried to scramble. We we will see that game plan again! Daboll needs to help Josh adjust!.

Pretty much agree with your post. As far as Benjamin is concerned; I’m not trying to make excuses for him but attitude may not be the issue. Watching him since the beginning of the season he not only struggles to catch the ball he has trouble securing it and hanging on when he gets hit! Nothing has been said about an injury, maybe to his hand for example. Things don’t add up here! He came to Buffalo during the season last year, played hurt, and seemed to like it here. Showed up to camp in good shape, I think this is last year on his contract too! Beane characterized him as a “fierce competitor “! Is catching Allen’s fastballs the problem? Wasn’t when he played with Newton. Is he upset about having to break in a young Qb? I know this pure speculation and maybe in time we will hear why KB is struggling.

Yeah not on every down. I feel like he would be best in a rotation with Murphy and Hughes. Good things seem happen!

Lorenzo has the most impact on the d-line rushing the passer! Saw it last year against The Jags. It was his best game last year. He is a decent linebacker but a stud pass rusher from the edge or a tackle position!!

Allen has wowed me twice with his athleticism since he has come to Buffalo! Yesterday it was his poise and confidence! He was comfortable out there and he just let it all out! The early lead helped! He managed the situations, found open receivers, extended plays and only made a couple of rookie mistakes that didn’t hurt the team. He led the team with his attitude and his play! He was, well, inspiring. To his teammates and to us! Im going to get to game this year. My job makes it tough. Can’t wait to see him in person!! He is special!

I don’t know how long it will take for Allen to reach the game in and game out consistency that great QBs have. I do know that he is tremendously gifted. That is the second time he has “wowed!” me with his athleticism. My expectations were less for sure! Expectations are probably the reason for that comment! Look, this franchise finally made the playoffs after the length of time that it takes to have a kid and see that same kid graduate high school! Many felt that they got lucky and backed into the post season! Not me, but that doesn’t matter, there are still many perceptions and expectations out there that won’t change until they are well - changed by the current team. I think we FINALLY have the coaches and the QB to do it!! But, it will take probably years of winning!! Good post! I thought the same thing during the game. Couldn’t remember the last time they got after the QB that way! Alexander needs to be on the d-line that’s for sure!! Hope Murph can stay healthy.

It’s still early, but Allen is looking more and more comfortable out there. I think the game is already slowing down for him based on his general body language! Poised and confident!!! His teammates see it too! Exciting days ahead Bills fans!

What is earthshaking about this assessment? When you play a rookie Qb in the NFL you need to have a good o-line, run game, decent wideouts and a good defense to keep you in it! IF you hope to win enough to be above .500 ! Allen certainly doesn’t. Not one of these rookie QBs except Rosen has really good footwork. They all need improvement in many ways!

Our first 8 games are a brutal initiation for a rookie QB! And a rookie mlb! I am expecting this team to get better once the youngsters get some more experience. But honestly, there are doing ok considering the challenges! I think our future is bright!!

Exactly! Even with all time great Bruce Smith across from him Shaq wouldn’t be much better because he can’t beat guys 1 on 1. At least not nearly enough to be a force! Decent against the run but at this level you need to do both to some degree! As far as I’m concerned Alexander needs to be at LDE !!! Rotation with Murphy and Hughes. Shaq is part of the problem.

From what I saw last week, Alexander needs to play DE permanently!!! It’s where he excels. Do it Coach!! Tyrod can’t pass worth a darn anyway! But, yeah we sold out to stop Fournette for sure and it almost worked. Our defense isn’t that much different than last year. Still feel that much better football is ahead for this team! We need another CB!

I have always looked at mutiny as a good way of finding out who your enemies are and who you can really count on as a friend! I feel that Mcd has plenty of support in the locker room. That coaching job he did last year to end up in the playoffs bought him that!
