The Punter Situation/New Punter
Bring it replied to BillsFan692's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m having trouble following the logic of this move so close to season also. Distance is great but so is hang time when it comes to coverage and field position. I guess we have no choice so we have to trust the process! Hope this kid can kick because he is going to be busy!! -
Shocked! I would be shocked ?!

Buffalo Bills 2018: Meet the 53

I don’t know about Thomas but O Leary was not the best blocker. He made some big receptions and had a knack for getting open! -

It’s mostly the interior line! Atkins is a beast for sure but man we are missing Ritchie and E. Wood. Especially Woods leadership. To start or not start Allen. He didn’t look bad for a Qb under a lot of pressure. Is is it really going to make a difference? With this line Peterman won’t make it through the first 2 games anyway!!! -
Yeah. Having Trump in office has at least rooted out the enemies among us. Not that America is perfect but if you have ever served in other countries and really got a good look at them instead just tourist areas. You realize how blessed we are! Not by the things we have but by the opportunity and what freedoms that we still have! Cuomo and others simply don’t get that. But, to the topic. Mcd is a heck of a coach and it really feels good to be able to trust the management at OBD. At least it definitely seems that we are headed for better things!

Wait! I heard that America was never that great!

Dreams! I’m in my early 50s. None of really knows how much time we have left; we are not guaranteed a tomorrow! I don’t dream much. Maybe because in life more often than not you are left disappointed. In two short appearances Josh Allen has “wowed” me! Obviously the 2 touchdowns. But it’s been the other things too. The poise, athleticism, accuracy and decision making have beyond his experience. That incompletion to Thomas at the end of the first half was impressive. He bought time escaping to his right and fired a bullet toward Logan Thomas who had a defender on him with his back to Allen. He couldn’t get set enough to fully jump and pull the ball in, only touching it with one hand. What a throw in that situation. It’s my guy or no one! Hauschka then kicks the field goal. I keep telling myself don’t dream. Not yet. No, there may not be a tomorrow! I’m going to dream!! And dream BIG!!!! Go Bills!

Proof Josh Allen Is Ready [Perhaps Not 100% Scientific]

That’s confidence!! Having a tough time with future expectations on this kid. He has already greatly exceeded where I thought he would be at this point! -
They regressed from the season before for sure. Was it Ducasse or the Glenn injury? I’m not sure. Shady made them look good at times. They struggle much more in pass protect than the run. That speaks to lack of leadership when assignments are late or just plain missed! Maybe the new scheme needs more time. The run calls are much more varied now with Daboll. Some of these guys may never get it.

It’s easy to critique Allen on strengths and weaknesses! But, the feeling I get watching him is that he just can play the game!! He’s a Qb, period.
-
Good sign. You would think that vets like Alexander would know talent when he sees it. He doesn’t have to say anything if he felt negatively about Allen. He clearly states that the team would have just as much chance of winning with Allen as the other two qbs. That’s as a rookie too! Hope so. I didn’t think his mobility would transfer to the nfl. Guess I was wrong!

He made a few plays. Looks like the eighth grader that was brought up to varsity! -
Please name Josh Allen the starter

Allen did it again tonight, another td drive capped by a big play. The dart against the panthers and using his feet to buy time keeping his head up and finding Streater! Impressive! I’m really surprised by his scrambling ability. Wasn’t sure it would transfer to the nfl. -
I just think he is extremely raw. Very good physical tools. Just needs to learn more of the game. I don’t know if he has time this year? But, if he can hang for a couple of years and develop he could be weapon. Looks like he can get separation almost anytime he wants!!
-
True, he caught it. It’s not his fault it was out. I was really thinking that we had a steal in Foster. Sounded like he had a lot of talent and was over looked. But, he slowed down almost stopping on the overthrow. Big mistake. Easiest receiver on the field to cover at that point. Look I hope he turns it around, he needs a huge showing tomorrow!!
-
I agree with everything but the multiple commentators. I think that out of bounds pass was uncatchable. Other than that Foster had a bad game. He needs a monster game to even stay on the bubble!

Cover1 breaks down Allen's last drive against the Panthers

That td pass to McCloud was either crazy or crazy good!! Did he just get lucky? Maybe that it wasn’t tipped yeah. But not the throw itself. Pinpoint and it got there before the def. could react. Allen has an elite arm in terms of strength. Now can he be consistent with it? Man I hope so! Because I want to see more of that for the next 10 - 15 years. -
He’s got talent. It will go as far as he wants it to! Maybe this trade will light a fire in him? Off topic a bit. Caught the comment about Landry having many ways to create just enough room to make catches when he appears tightly covered. I’m interested to see if they have a Qb who can put the ball where it needs to be to take advantage of that.
