  1. Aaron Maybin and for me it’s not even close!
  2. Imo Marcell is a talented player that may or may not bring everything on game day or to practice. Looking back on it now I felt that he screwed the Bills because he obviously checked out once he got his big franchise contract. We never saw Marcell at his best after that! Nice guy for sure, but for him to have any ill feelings toward the Bills for dealing him isn’t right. He had every chance here to tow the mark and wouldn’t. I don’t hate Marcell at all, it really is a shame when a guy has hall of fame talent but lacks the discipline. He reminds me of Derrick Coleman of the Syracuse Orangemen. What a waste of talent!
  3. No, my dad didn’t follow football much. I was a Steeler fan as a kid. Hated everything that was Dallas Cowboy! I was 18 when the Bills drafted Bruce Smith and being from Western N.Y. I felt that the Bills were more of what I’m about. Been Billieven ever since! Ditto.
  4. Actually, I think you made the point about Beane getting Edmunds by not letting that other 1st go in an earlier topic. I thought it definitely applied here and was worth repeating! He did an impressive job for a first draft as a GM!
  5. Yes, the jets got the 3rd pick. Remember they had a much higher pick to deal to get there. Beane did what he could without going for broke to get to 12 from 21. It’s what he did to get our Qb and keep that other 1st that impressed me. Without it they had no shot at Edmunds. Toss in Phillips and this is could go down as one of the greatest drafts in Bills history!
  6. I’m going with 2-2 My thinking is that McDermott ever the prepared one, has us getting the win at Baltimore. I also feel the home opener is winnable but we have to run the ball well against that pressure d-line. We need those two wins because we aren’t winning at Minnesota and most likely a tough road loss to the Packers in week 4! Our defense needs to be humming right out of the gate!!!
  7. “Pretty good” is right. I can agree with you there. He certainly took care of the ball! He certainly doesn’t lose many games for you. Doesn’t make the big throws to win many either. Some but not enough!
  8. Calendar will have less to do with any slowdown this year in Shady, more likely the loss of Wood, Incognito and an ever shaky right side. On the Browns; Gordon is far from reliable at this point, offensive line needs improvement to have a consistent ground game and where is the defense? Taylor will be running for his life! Let alone if they are stupid enough to start Mayfield(they are). It it will be sandlot ball at its best. Tyrod will dazzle at times and the dawgs will suck it up. But, that is all!
  9. Believe when I see it. Tyrod has no run game, one good receiver in Landry, and a lousy defense! We probably will regresse some especially with all the changes on the o line, but can’t see our defense playing worse!
  10. The one thing You have to give Tyrod is. He owned the fish!!! Still glad he is gone though.
  11. Lol! On the serious side, Phillips will be hard to keep off the field THIS year. And if Edmunds has the instincts for mlb he will be a stud! Huge upgrade over Brown.
  12. Yes it is. But I think that Phillips will be very productive earlier than later and will push those ahead of him. McDermott likes a healthy rotation of the d-line and I think Phillips snaps will go up quickly. How he ended up at the bottom of the 3rd round is beyond me!
  13. I agree. He isn’t slow off the ball but he doesn’t have Kyles quickness at the snap. However I think he will be much stronger than KW against the run. Phillips is definitely a one tech. nose tackle. He will be hard to keep off the field imo.
  14. Wisdom? Somewhere along the way EVERY NFL Qb had to learn to not take a sack on 3rd down when you are in fg range in a tight game. You aren’t born with it. Some recognize those instances when they need to and throw it out of bounds, some not quick enough. What will Allen do? I don’t know. But, when he gets his base right and throws he is mostly accurate. He has arm talent that is rare! He is worth the gamble imo because if he continues to show improvement he will be very good maybe great!
  15. I was sure that Rosen was “the” guy for us too. Now considering his post-draft comments I can at least get a feel for why Buffalo passed on him. Not just passed they went and got Someone Else! He is simply not a Mcd guy. Rosen is first in his own opinion and in action. Not, team first. Mayfield has been endlessly compared with Manziel in his draft days. I say that Rosen is more like Manziel than Mayfield. That turns off teammates and coaches. Rosen and Manziel are very different QBs on the field, but the same in their ability to be a team leader. Maybe Manziel has learned a little, maybe Rosen will too at some point.
  16. He is going to love it here. Seems like a great fit for him. Loved the video!
  17. My initial reaction was incredulous disbelief. The Browns could of had Barkley and at least the 3rd best Qb of the draft. It is it is still incredulous disbelief!!!
  18. Nice write up Shaw! Really enjoyed it. I don’t think your account is that far off either. Im a little biased toward Allen because of his background. I am a farmer and if the “ apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” Josh Allen has learned how to be dedicated, persistent and to put your whole heart into what you do. I don’t think that the word “ quit” means anything to him. We will see his best and that just might be great! An old coach once told me that if he had a stud mlb he could build a great defense. Edmunds could be that guy, he has the raw talent. Nfl genes to boot. Could this be the start of something special? Had to the old-fashioned donuts!!
  19. Nope. I’m just can’t believe that Mayfield will go top 5 not even top 10. I really hope the Jets are stupid enough to move up to 3 and then take Mayfield leaving Rosen to us!!! I’ll be doing cartwheels if Sal’s projection comes true!
  20. I totally agree with you. We would need to get him some weapons not to mention an o-line.
  21. Certainly don’t disagree with you that he probably doesn’t have the talent for the majors either and that he is being used by the Mets a little. But he imo is certainly no “fraud”. No one is perfect but you can get a pretty good idea of someone’s character by how they live. Tebow at least would take a knee to pray and to give respect and praise to his God. At least showing that he believed by his actions that the world doesn’t revolve around him. So sick of the “Gronks” that take a cheap shot after the play, blame the refs in the locker room, get slapped on the wrist with a one game suspension and then try and appeal it to the league. We all do it to some degree but I’m glad that Tebow is in the spotlight a little. He is a good man!!!
  22. Not saying he can’t play just that the odds of a really good nfl Qb being 6’ or less is small. Not high enough to take in the first 15 picks. I generally do too. Maybe LT is taller than listed. But anyway there definitely wasn’t much difference between the two!
