I can't believe so many people are trying to rationalize this trade and say it was good (at the time). This is a results based league. It doesn't matter if it was a good trade at the time it happened, you need to grade it based on the results. And the results undeniably show that Kelvin Benjamin was a god awful WR.

Some Allen/Offense Stats
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're counting Tyrod's time in Baltimore as a bench warmer as experience I guess? Tyrod has started 46 games in his career. The point is we ran Tyrod out of town for playing QB the way Allen has been playing. Allen has much more potential than Tyrod, but he has to start living up to it at some point. -
I always enjoy reading your threads. Some fair and useful analysis. My thoughts 7) PI and the non-challenge - this was pretty clearly DPI, but it was the correct decision to not challenge it. For whatever reason it seems like refs are unwilling to change the call on the field in a PI challenge. Makes me wonder if there was a league wide memo stating that PI reversals should be saved for instances like the NFC Championship game (blatantly obvious AND huge impact to the outcome of the game).

Josh Allen - week NINE report card
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll go with a B- Josh was a game manager today and nothing more. No turnovers, but we were lucky the Redskins didn't recover either fumble. -
I didn't have much exposure to deadspin. I would read their "Why your team sucks" and get a laugh out of it, and maybe 1-2 articles per month that popped up in my news feed. I never viewed them as a political site, and certainly not a left leaning site. Their articles generally seemed to be humorous and filled with sarcasm (closer to the Onion than actual news). I'm looking at Deadspin's front page and I see one article that touches on political topics (article about a Palestinian soccer team). The article doesn't take any political sides. Am I missing something here? Do you guys have examples of Deadspin being overly political and left wing? Are they legitimately a left-leaning website? Or are the people claiming that the same that think Fox News is fair and balanced?

Let's ignore that 65 yard game changing run that Star got dominated 1v1 on b/c other defenders made mistakes on the play??? Had to jump through a few hoops to make that conclusion huh? Star is the 2nd highest cap hit on the team, and if the best you can say about him is "well, if you ignore these really bad plays that cost us the game, he's normally doing his job by being invisible and eating up blocks" then that's a major problem.

Singletary's touchdown shouldn't have counted
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From my seats I saw him throw the flag prior to the snap (it was pretty close, and he picked it back up quickly). Very, very fortunate the refs didn't notice and blow the play dead -
Dawson Knox killing his own legend.
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, without a second thought I would take Kelce over Knox. 38/541/1 with 5 drops on 57 targets or 12/178/1 with 4 drops on 23 targets Tough decision.... -
Postgame: Dolphins 21 at Bills 31
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Do The Reich Thing's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not a valid point. Fitz started in weeks 1+2 for the Fish this year and was an abject disaster. -
Postgame: Dolphins 21 at Bills 31
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Do The Reich Thing's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen struggling was not surprising (at least he didn't have any turnovers). The Defense getting shredded by the Dolphins was very surprising. Without a couple of timely turnovers the Dolphins could've put 30+ points on us. -
I'm fine with no deadline trades, I don't think we're in a "win-now" mode that would make sense to mortgage future picks away. Defensively - why fix what ain't broken? Maybe trade some late round picks for depth guys Offensively - we could use O-Line or WR or TE (pending on Kroft status), but there's not many guys on the trading block that would be upgrades over what we have. And those guys would probably cost way too much draft capital.

How has McDermott done with this team so far?
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I voted B- Positives: He clearly motivates the players and has them playing hard His defense is championship caliber We made the playoffs 4-1 start this season Negatives: The Offense has never been better than mediocre during his tenure He stated Peterman (multiple times) and thought it was okay to go into a season with a QB depth of Peterman, Allen (some of that is on Beane) Terrible with challenges Poor clock management and situational awareness (looking at you, decision to punt in the Colts snow game) Lot of reasons to be excited, but I'm not even going to consider moving him into the "A" range until we win some playoff games. -
I was never sold on Allen (being honest, I wanted Rosen). I really like how he's improved his accuracy on short throws this season (prior to the start of the Patriots game). I don't like how he keeps making the same mistakes over and over. How many times has he gotten sacked (or taken intentional grounding penalty) to knock us out of FG range this season? How many times has he thrown off his back foot? How many "hero ball" plays have blown up in his face? He needs to cut down on the mistakes to earn my faith.

Josh Allen - week FOUR report card
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) It didn't take Peyton Manning 7 years to figure out how to score more than 10 points on the Patriots def 2) Saying that the INT's were basically punts might hold more water if all 3 INTs did not occur on 1st down 3) I'll agree the punting was atrocious -
The Chiefs had a ridiculous one a few years ago. The Chiefs kicked a FG with 4 seconds left to take a 23-20 lead (Chiefs were favored by 6). On the last play of the game the Redskins went for a ladder play, fumbled, and the Chiefs returned for a TD to win 29-20, and to cover the spread. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2736553-chiefs-garbage-time-fumble-recovery-td-hits-backdoor-cover-in-win-vs-redskins

Josh Allen - week THREE report card
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll go with a C The game winning drive is great and all, but we were only trailing in that game due to poor QB play. He had 2 bone headed plays that probably should have cost us the game (and would have against a better team). I'm looking at the intentional grounding that got us out of FG range and the INT (similar looking plays). -
Josh Allen - week one report card
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Vince Young went 31-19 as a starter in the NFL. Does that mean he was a good QB that "just wins"? Or does that mean he was a pretty bad QB that got carried to victories by the rest of his team? -
Week 1: The good, the bad, and the missing
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm more than a little worried that Gore had 11 carries to Singletarys 4. I'm having the worst flashbacks to Michael Tolbert, I thought I had repressed those memories. -
First Half wasn't as awful as everyone is saying
DabillsDaBillsDaBills replied to mjt328's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love that you labeled the Jets player in the last screenshot. Watching that play live I thought Gore should've made it out of the endzone easily. What a piss poor decision and bad running by Gore. -

Allen also had an INT overturned on a rather weak defensive holding call
