  1. This is going to be McD's 9th season in Buffalo. It's incredible that there was still a player in Carolina from McD's tenure there. I think the only guy left is the long snapper
  2. Was it not Fitzy for the Jets? Raiders has to be Carr he was there forever.
  3. The Dallas Stars just fired their head coach after a conference finals appearance as well.
  4. Undoubtedly we force a lot of turnovers. We've been top 10 in forced turnovers every year of McD's tenure and top 5 every season since 2020. Our Def excels at exploiting mistakes typically made by bad QBs, or if we're already up big the other team feels the need to force the issue. If we're in a close game and/or playing a good QB the turnovers really dry up. When's the last time McD's defense dominated a good offense? Has that ever happened? Why can't our DEF put together a playoff game against KC like PHI did this year, TB in 2020, or CIN in 2021 (2nd half)? Going off on a tangent I wanted to bring up Dan Campbell. In the DET HOU game last year Goff threw 3 INTs by halftime and DET was trailing 23-7. Campbell had a quick little interview at the start of the 3rd Q and told the reporter "The defense needs to go out there and force some turnovers" His DEF went out in the 2nd half and forced 2 turnovers, 4 punts, and a missed FG. DET won the game 26-23 despite Goff's 5 turnovers. Compare and contrast that to McD in the 2023 Jets season opener.
  5. Really can't complain about what the offense did last year, but if I was going to tinker: - more deep shots - less reliance on Josh's legs for short yardage - better/more trick plays (the one vs Ravens in the regular season was probably the low point of the year for the offense) Our defensive philosophy works great in the regular season, especially against bad QBs. However, it routinely gets exposed by good QBs, particularly in the playoffs - No more bend but don't break. The goal should be to force a turnover or a 3 and out on every possession. I can live with giving up more long TDs if we're getting our offense an extra couple possessions per game - I never want to see our DBs giving 10+yard cushions unless it's an absolute blowout win
  6. 66 is old for a CEO type position like this. Tagliabue was younger than Goodell is now when he retired. How many team owners older than Goodell don't have a succession plan in place?
  7. I agree with how successful he's been, but he's 66 years old. He only has so many good years left and should really have an heir apparent by this point.
  8. I find it a little concerning that he hurt both his knees last season in separate instances where he fell onto the field after trying to make a catch. Does he just have bum knees?
  9. Christian Wilkins breathes a huge sigh of relief
  10. SGA is absolutely a superstar. Edwards and Brunson are pretty darn close as well. Indiana is really the only team left of the final 4 that's missing a superstar. They have a 1A/1B with Halliburton and Siakam and great scoring depth (7 guys over 10 PPG in the regular season).
  11. We also played KC without their WR1 Rashee Rice (in fact they went through almost the entire season without him). In my mind you can only blame a loss on injuries for 3 reasons: 1) Missing an elite QB 2) Missing a DPOY type player (TJ Watt, Myles Garret, etc) 3) Missing multiple players on a specific unit The Bills were decimated by injuries in 2023 at LB and secondary going into the 3rd playoff game vs Chiefs. That's the only playoff loss I would blame on injuries. It's unfortunate we didn't have Tre in 2021, Von Miller in 2022, or Benford for most of the 2024 game, but it should've been possible to overcome those injuries and put together a decent defensive game.
  12. Sure, a properly executed squib kick puts us in a better position to win that game than a touchback, but there's no guarantee. The next regular season game we played KC we scored with 16 seconds left in the 1st half, squibbed it, and they still scored a FG before the half ended. There's also a famous playoff game we were involved in where we scored with 16 seconds left in the game, squibbed it, and it was returned it for a TD. I've never had a problem with the touchback decision (the miscommunication over the decision is a separate issue). All we had to do was not go into prevent and play an actual defense for 1 or 2 plays.
  13. This is where I'm at. His last season here it looked like he was responsible for at least 5 interceptions. I don't want him back, but my money would be on Beane re-signing him. Beane LOVES bringing back players that he's familiar with
  14. In what world have his hands been excellent? In this last year he had a BRUTAL drop on that 4th down in the playoffs and an abysmal 58% catch rate in the regular season.
  15. Bills Raiders 2011 week 2 We were down 21-3 at halftime and ended up winning 38-35. One of Fitzmagic's best games
  16. I'll go on a fact checking mission. 1st loss Chiefs had 9 possessions 5 TDs 1 FG 1 Punt 2 end of half 2nd loss Chiefs had 11 possessions 5 TDs 3 FGs 1 missed FG 2 Punts 3rd loss Chiefs had 9 possessions 3 TDs 2 FGs 1 Punt 1 Fumble 2 end of half 4th loss Chiefs had 10 possessions 4 TDs 1 FG 2 Punts 1 Fumble 2 end of half By my count that's only 8 stops by the Bills DEF and not 9 showing in the screenshot. Maybe they are counting the missed FG in game 2 as a defensive stop, or the muffed punt that we recovered in the 1st game. Those are both ST plays so I don't think they should count as DEF stops. I'm not counting any 'end of half' possession as a stop since those were all kneel-downs. In the SB on the Chiefs first 9 drives they had 6 punts, 2 INTs, and a failed 4th down.
  17. There's plenty of owners willing to spend cash to kick cap hits down the road. Most don't get the same results that the Eagles do. The Browns (lol) led the league in cash spending last season. The Eagles have that loaded roster from hitting on a lot of recent draft picks, fleecing a few teams in trades, and not handing out bad contracts. There's nothing unusual or special about how much cash Lurie is spending on the team.
  18. Going the draft rout was not the problem for the Chiefs, they struggled offensively after Mahomes torpedoed Rashee Rice's knee. Imagine how bad our offense would've looked last year if Shakir went on IR in week 4. We had a taste of that in the Texans and Ravens games that he was injured for. Proven talent through FA doesn't always work either. We gave Samuel a decent chunk of change and he was a non-factor (hopefully he'll be better this year when healthy).
  19. We didn't though. The Lions scored more than us in the regular season. The Eagles and Commanders scored more in the post season. Combining regular and post season stats together is dumb.
  20. Chiefs didn't have WR1 Rashee Rice in either game against us
  21. Rasul Douglas and Jordan Poyer are still available
  22. I could not hate this signing more. I don't care if it's vet minimum + incentives to reach this "up to" 6.8m. We cut him and ate dead cap TWO YEARS AGO because he was 100% cooked after (unfortunate) injuries. He was atrocious (borderline worst CB in the league) for the Rams last year before they benched him. They ultimately traded him to the Ravens for a 7th round pick swap. Essentially the lowest possible value you could trade a player for. He was awful for the Ravens (although he did slightly improve from worst CB in the league). This is reminiscent of bringing back Beasley/Brown in 2022, or AJ Klein in 2023, or Micah Hyde in 2024 because we're familiar with those guys. Re-signing guys who are 1000% cooked just because we're familiar with them is terrible roster building.
  23. I'm honestly in shock that Chad Pennington received MVP votes. 2008 was a massive down year
  24. I don't think he's worth a roster spot even at a vet minimum contract. I'd rather take a chance on an unproven guy than give it to an aging vet that looked as cooked as Douglas did last season.
