  1. Cook gets an A+ Mack gets an A Josh gets a B+ Oliver gets a B Maybe some O-line is in the B range No one else was better than 'decent' in this game
  2. https://imgur.com/a/0saMuIZ
  3. Josh was out of control on the first drive, but I'd still give him a "B+" for how he played tonight. Definitely well enough to win the game
  4. It was time to move on from McD after the 13 second game. Everything else has been doubling down on garbage
  5. I love being critical about officiating, and I do think the refs favored the Chiefs in this game, but it was about a 55/45 ratio. We easily could've won this game without self inflicted wounds, or if we had even a mediocre defense
  6. If 2 seeds still had byes McD would be 2-7 in the playoffs, with both wins coming against the Lamar Jackson Ravens
  7. 1 turnover 2 punts 32 points allowed Yup... that's an absolute disaster against a mediocre offense
  8. How about false start penalties? The supposed 'loophole' about tackles being allowed to adjust their back foot prior to the snap is literally not in the rulebook. Refs just choose to enforce it that way. We're left with this amorphous grey area where OT's are allowed to move ~1 full second prior to the snap. Except when they're not. Enforcement can change crew to crew and even down to down. Or alignment penalties? Hope you enjoy seeing Jawaan Taylor line up ~2 yards farther back than he's allowed to cuz we're gonna see a LOT of that on Sunday
  9. I was more confident in 2021 even though we only made it to the divisional. Felt like we "learned our lesson" from 2020 and our offense was playing so well we felt unbeatable.
  10. It says it right there: These provisions do not prohibit incidental contact by the mask or the helmet in the course of a conventional tackle or block on an opponent. I think it's pretty clear he didn't lower his head and it was not forcible contact. Therefore it's not a penalty
  11. Helmet to helmet hits are not, in and of themselves, a penalty. There's some situations where any head contact is an automatic penalty like a QB in the pocket or a defenseless player (IE a QB that's sliding). If the player being hit is just a regular runner it can still be a penalty if the defender launches (leaving his feet) and/or leads with the crown of the helmet. Josh was a regular runner on the play he was hit, and the defender didn't launch or lead with the crown so I think it's a good no-call.
  12. Do you realize how high 35% is for allowing runs of 10+ yards? If your defense is allowing a rush of 10+ once out of every 3 plays you can see why that would be a problem? Looking at the other teams that played on divisional weekend Bills had 3 carries of 10+ (including Ty Johnson in garbage time) on 34 carries Eagles had 5 carries of 10+ on 35 carries Rams had 2 on 21 carries Commanders had 3 out of 42 Lions had 7 out of 23 Chiefs had 3 out of 21 Texans had 2 out of 29 The Lions were the only team even remotely close. I will say even though we allowed a huge chunk of runs to go for 10+ at least we didn't allow a long TD run.
  13. Andrews had at least 2 blatant OPI go uncalled (push off on T.Johnson and one he had arms full extended and blocking like 10+yards downfield). Ravens O-line was getting away with murder too
  14. I thought the call on Dawkins was worse as he showed perfect technique and should NEVER be called a penalty. White was stumbling and created a bit of contact with Coleman, I could see that being called if the refs were being really tight with contact in the secondary. This was a 'let them play' type game though so it's pretty ridiculous to call that penalty on Tre. Pretty funny that we only had 1 accepted penalty and we still have a legitimate gripe about the officiating.
  15. That's definitely part of it. Also worth mentioning that McD had no faith in Bass to make kicks
  16. We did force a lot of negative rushing plays (FOUR), however, we also allowed NINE rushing attempts of 10+ yards. Henry went: 1, 1 , 2, -1, 10, 7, 2, -1, 12, 6, 3, 17, 15, 5(TD),5, 0 Hill went: 9, 11, 11, -2, 22 Jackson went: 9, 16, -4, 11, 8 It's not like the average was thrown off by one 90+ yard rush, we were consistently giving up chunks of 10+ yards on the ground.
  17. Obviously it wasn't a disaster, but it would have been without the turnovers. We forced 0 punts in the entire game. ZERO punts. Ravens were 7/10 on 3rd down. One of those stops turned into a 4th down that the Ravens converted and the other 2 were FGs. We allowed 177 rushing yards on 29 attempts (excluding end of 1st half kneel down). The 3 forced turnovers make this a moderately bad defensive game. Without the turnovers this is a historically bad defensive game
  18. I'm curious how many teams have won a game while allowing 400+ yards with 0 forced punts. Thank god for those turnovers
  19. The 2016-2018 KC Chiefs had 3 straight home playoff losses. Lots of other close calls (2009-2012 Patriots for example had 3 home playoff losses in 4 years, with the 4th year a SB loss), but that's the only exact match I could find The first 2 KC losses were with Alex Smith as QB. Then they switched to a new QB and the rest, as they say, is history.
  20. The 'blueprint' is to contain Henry and make Jackson throw the ball a bunch. Ravens are 3-5 in games Henry has under rushing 100 yards (2 of the wins vs Bengals) Ravens are 3-5 in games Jackson has 30+ passing attempts (2 of the wins vs Bengals)
  21. Imagine if the refs didn't let him get away with tackling Kincaid in the end zone or bear-hugging Coleman
  22. I agree that Hollins was an easy taunting call, but I think the Bronco player also deserved a penalty for grabbing Hollin's leg.
  23. It's not EGREGIOUS, but I do think the Ravens and Harbaugh err on the side of pulling Lamar a drive too late rather than a drive too early. Whereas the Bills err on the side of pulling Josh a drive too early. Look at last season Ravens up 42-19 with 7:55 left in the 4th Q against the Dolphins. Not only is Lamar still in the game, he's running the ball. There's 0% chance Josh would still be getting snaps in that game. Everything else being equal if McD and Josh were HC/QB for the Ravens I think Josh would've been benched at least 1 drive earlier in the Ravens wins against the Bills, Giants, Texans, Steelers, and Browns. I also doubt Josh would've gone back into the loss against the Eagles trailing 12-24 with 1 minute left in the 4th Q and no timeouts. Lamar racked up 70 yards and a TD in garbage time that game (the TD scored with 3 seconds left in the game). Lamar and the Ravens aren't as blatant about it as the peak Drew Brees Saints teams or the '07 Patriots, but they still run up the score/stats a bit
  24. Would he? I'm honestly not so sure. Lamar isn't the most egregious stat-padder I've ever seen, but he's extremely stat conscious. I think the individual awards matter a lot more to him than he likes to admit to the public. Look at how Lamar handles plays where a turnover isn't the worst thing. For example: 3rd and long (outside FG range), 4th down attempts (with no open WR), or hail mary situations. Lamar would rather throw an incompletion or take a sack than risk an INT on a play like that. Josh almost seems to take joy in those kinds of plays and relishes chucking up low % deep balls. Josh has more "arm punts" over the last 2 seasons than Lamar has in his entire career. Then you can take a look at how long Lamar is left in blowout victories before being benched. Ravens up 41-10 with 8 minutes left against the Broncos still had Jackson and Henry in the game. Ravens up 28-10 with 4 minutes left against the Browns still had Jackson and Henry in the game. Ironically in the Bills/Ravens game Josh was benched before Lamar was.
