WR John Brown (Ravens) to the Bills
Jerome007 replied to blacklabel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And people... don't forget Allen's running abilities! He can't spin around people but give him a straight field and he has shown amazing speed. 20+ yard runs are great and demoralizes defenses. It should open up Shady's runs too, which happens to also be a very good receiver IMO. I suspect the Bills will be a pass happy team first and foremost. Seriously, what a difference so far already. If they can pass protect, expect a LOT of long plays. It will be entertaining, whatever else happens! -
C Mitch Morse (Chiefs) to the Bills
Jerome007 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills have good cap space for the next two years so these signing make total sense. The players are happy to sign here as they get loads of money right away. The team is happy as either they have great producers for little cap room in year 3-4, or they move on with little dead money. It makes total sense for the current situation. And yeah, there is that possibility you mention I sure hope doesn't happen though ha ha. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (RG) was injured most of last year and his replacement did a good for much cheaper. So *maybe* the Bills can attract him thanks to the Morse signing. But currently it would have to be a trade with the Chiefs -
The Strategy of Signing Frank Gore
Jerome007 replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I too was rolling eyes when I heard this signing but this whole thread and posts like this one makes me realize how much sense it makes. A one year deal too. For some reason, I thought he was over the hill. If he is still solid - yes I know he is not his dominant young self - and good locker room leader, good signing! I always pictured him more as a pure runner and good blocker but I might be wrong. Is he a good pass catcher? -
WR Cole Beasley (Dallas) to the Bills
Jerome007 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I too like this signing but I too think we are overloaded at the #3 WR spots and slot receivers ha ha. But then he makes others less needed. Solid upgrades overall by Beane. Kind of silent deals that won't attract media attention but make significant impacts. -
Yes but the point is that they didn't pan out. Why? Hard to say. But odds are the new guys will be way better, just because the guys they replaced awfully underproduced. And with a better OLine, Allen with more experience and a FULL training camp at #1 with his receivers to develop timing... it doesn't take that much to improve (or regress). The thing that bothers me is that the Bills were fairly lucky as it comes to injuries last year, so no matter the planning, that's always a danger and depth always a factor. FA is far from over and the drat hasn't happened yet, but still we can say they have improved from last year. Enough? We'll see.

Ridiculous how pure assumptions are used for documentaries. What about the dozens of proven cases instead. **** these fake victims. Ok, she might a real one but everything smells so fishy here. And in any case, you don't do such stuff without knowing all the facts and just going by some troublemaker drama queen's words. Again, many PROVEN cases to go with.

"Garcon’s release leaves behind $7.2M of dead cap to the #49ers, clearing $1.525M of cap space." Wow. That doesn't exactly say the 49ers think highly of him!

Would you trade a high 2020 draft choice for AB?
Jerome007 replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I laugh at how so many of you think draft picks are some sacred prizes. The higher you draft, the better the chance the players pans out, the better the ODDS, no guarantees at all. AB is a PROVEN top receiver, one of THE best. Voted #2 overall best player in 2017 by his peers behind Brady. Of course, all his other issues sure factor in the decision process. Also matter the remaining years in the contract, pay vs cap space and blablabla. But overall a 1st round draft pick is an educated gamble that you can get someone very good or great. And often that player is average or a bust. So trading a pick for a proven player? A no-brainer unless the other factors mentioned don't make sense. -
Ha ha. I'm an SOD fan and never made the connection with his last name. Good find. He has a better 2nd year than his first which was already beyond expectations. The LB and secondary are top level. DLine could be improve in the middle? It's awesome that most of the focus for the FA and draft can be on the offense. The same defense with a better offense is already a better defense!

I think it's Boomer Esiason that called Josh "must see TV" and he is right. Dude was an highlight machine and is just plain exciting. He's got desire, charisma, and quite the arm and legs. With wins the media WILL get back on the Bills wagon. Sure a small city is often ignored but a 17 year drought and a losing season by October don't exactly help. Even if you forgot trends, we could see his improvements, and this time he will clearly be #1 and rep with the starters from day one of training camp. Chemistry between QB and receivers is NOT overrated.

I have really high expectations of Josh and the Bills next year, especially if Beane can produce. Not as easy as it sounds to draft and sign FA impact players on OL and WRs - not many are available and 50% of the teams are competing for them. They are not on a shelf just waiting to be taken as so many fans seem to imply. But he'll try, and the defense can be as good if not better with Milano, Edmund, White all having more experience, safeties still top notch, etc. Add more experience also by McD and Daboll, and the future is bright. Sure the pressure is on. We expect great things as soon as 2019. It might not be realistic but it is what it is. Injuries and bad luck can always derail a season and a good plan but come on, the odds are in the Bills favor for once. And to me Allen is the real deal already. I can't remember being as pumped this century! And the draft and free agents signing have not even started! A LOT rides on Beane, no doubt.

Sweet video. It sure got me pumped. A baller.

WAY too much Patriot* love around here (my analogy)
Jerome007 replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't go for the male strippers, I go for the great conversations and classy beers. OK, some of the food too. Brady and Bellichick are the best ever. I still was rooting against them. I don't think I'm the only one surprised they won this year. If another team, we'd be calling them a surprise upset team. I still can't grasp how their D became so great and their D line suddenly one of the best. Great schemes or not, it makes no sense. Brady was very clutch but besides that a glamour game manager (this year, not all his career!). It disgusts me they won but they made it happen. You can give them credit yet wish them a losing season. I just want the Allen led Bills to beat them twice (or thrice!) a year for a few years before Father Time does the job -
Who's more overrated...goff or mcvay
Jerome007 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What I don't get, is for all the Gurley-Goff-receivers talk, their offensive line was as dominant as you can get. Sure BB can scheme as good or better than anyone, but how come the Rams OLine couldn' make holes for the run or pass protect better? Schemes help, a lot, but still, that's a head scratcher. The Pat's D Line suddenly became one of the best during the playoffs. And who else was screaming at the TV at the end of the first half? Why didn't McVay use his two timeouts? The Pats* were at their own 2 yard line. Brady took a knee so was now at the 1. With 2 timeouts, it meant 2 more plays from the one! A safety was really possible as even kneel downs become problematic frm the one yard line. And it was only 3-0 at that point. I didn't hear commentator mention that then nor since. -
Interesting yet weird story on stadium bathrooms
Jerome007 replied to Stevie Ray's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you're in a place or festival or show with no waits at the pit stop and a place to wash your hands, you feel like you just came out of an uncivilized barbarian land you had lived all your life before. By ourselves with manage, adapt, conquer. But add young kids to the equation and all the nasty stuff really annoys on another level -
Tyrod Taylor has 'nothing but love' for Buffalo
Jerome007 replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod was mostly all class, but not all the time, and his pulling of the race card DID leave a bad taste. Especially since I feel the NFL and the media have a positive bias towards Black QBs, not a negative one! Look at how they gush at Lamar Jackson, like they did for RG3, Vick and so many that got the cover of mags and video games... He couldn't dislodge Flacco yet Jackson just did (with the same HC), couldn't last here and was ousted in Cleveland, without a doubt about who is #1 there. For a running QB, Josh just outdid him in 10 games. And on and on. That being said, he is a real "bridge QB" that could start for about 8-10 of the 32 teams. In any case, he had a real chance in Buffalo, took it and sure made serious $$$$ for his production. I suspect he wasn't the brightest bulb and that's why he couldn't progress in his reads after years of experience and why coaches never connected with him. -
Interesting yet weird story on stadium bathrooms
Jerome007 replied to Stevie Ray's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FRAT. Not reading all of it! But this is so spot on: "But the urinal trough? The apparatus is a large, communal urinal that offers an egalitarian, and highly efficient, method of elimination while forcing men to pee like cattle -- shoulder-to-shoulder, with zero privacy, and often while facing each other's junk. Few things evoke our deep, strange, love-hate relationship with stadium bathrooms like the urinal trough" Those were nasty. I'm glad they're mostly all gone. Yeah I suspect a meatgazer was the designer for that thing. -
NRC still hates the Pats from when he was a Bill
Jerome007 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be rooting for him I agree... though they did contribute to Incognito's breakdown. Contribute, not create it nor are they the main culprit, Richie is. But to this day I don't get the salary cut to a guy that was THE money player in the run game. If you can't tell they missed him big time this year, I don't know what game you are watching. Ask Shady. -
YESSSSSSS I was happy to see Tom say it, and even more so that so many other Bills fans think the same. I want an Allen led Bills team to win against the Brady-BB combo before Father Time takes them out or they retire. It won't make up for all the losses but still, a sweet way to put a bandaid on the huge gash. Grow a pair some of you fans LOL It's NOT two automatic losses!

Bils fans the Dee Ford appreciation thread
Jerome007 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate the Patriots as certainly most of us on here (doh!), but the review was clear to me. Edelman didn't touch the ball. Yes in one angle it seems to graze his thumb but in another one you can see it clearly does not. By combining the two angles it was clear evidence. -
And just like that, we are all Rams fans.
Jerome007 replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NO! I want the Allen led Bills to be a force and beat the Bellichick-Brady led Cheats 2 (or 3...) times a year BEFORE Father Time does it and or they just retire. Not greedy, just the next 2-3 years then they can retire -
Exactly! Defenses and special teams are part of the team too. No wonder the Patriots captains yelled "WE WANT THE BALL" with the Chiefs' mix of awesome offense and horrible defense
