  1. This is a good point. If someone tell you something in confidence, it is hard, or impossible, to "unknow" that fact. Its like your sister tells you, in confidence, that she's pregnant. You're in a setting thats full of people that dont know your sister at all. Your guard is down. You accidentally mention that she's pregnant. Sometimes things slip out. People make mistakes. Some people make more than others. Those are the people you tell no secrets to, nothing off the record. But life is a learning process. It may take time to figure out who the blabbermouths are.
  2. This is the answer I think. I doubt another team scoops him up, so just keep him on practice squad. It would be a shame to lose a promising OL or WR just because you’d feel bad for cutting him.
  3. People make mistakes. If Beane said that, it was off the record. I don’t know how to make this any simpler.
  4. Uh… Im not sure if you read the initial post. That’s exactly what off the record means.
  5. Huh. Looks like s n a t c h is censored.
  6. Bates played LT and RT his last 2 years at PSU. He was good (not great) at LT. Although I think his best position is at G (I dont know what his wing span is, but its not great), I'm pretty sure he played T for Bills a couple years back. I dont think he's a long term solution at LT/RT, but maybe he could be the Bills swing tackle this year.
  7. Im guessing that now we all understand why that dude was a junior high football coach
  8. A few of my favorites. Top shelf, where mama hides the cookies! Lalalalalala lafontaine!, Alexander the great! Stopped… by the Dominator!
  9. Drafted in spring 2019. Count it on your fingers. 2023 is his5th year in the nfl.
  10. WTF is McD wearing a jester hat?
  11. Got a better one foryou. Reporter was asking Hank Bullough about his decision to punt instead of kick a field goal. “Well, that’s just spilled milk over the dam”
  12. I came away from this wondering how the Browns ended up drafting Baker Mayfield over Allen. Arent Manziel and Mayfield the same player? Texas boys, good at playground football, a bit short, ocassional alcohol issues? Surprised that they didn’t learn their lesson with Manziel. but really glad they didn’t draft Allen17.
  13. Yup. This guy found a simple way to win $11K betting money line. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/bettor-loses-1-4-million-after-chargers-blow-playoff-game-against-jaguars-per-report/
  14. The guy who wrote this is an idiot. It’s based off an Athletic article. They interviewed 50 NFL coaches/GM. There were 5 Tier 1 qbs. Allen had 3rd highest rating. Mahomes scored a perfect 1.00. Burrows a 1.02. Allen a 1.12 (which means 6 coaches voted him in tier2 and 44 voted him in tier 1). The best tier 2 qb scored 1.82. So yeah, this guy is clueless.
  15. Tim’s lesser known older brother.
  16. This is true. Journalists and podcasters were announcing loudly that the Bills organization had failed by not cutting Araiza the instant an accusation was made. I distinctly remembering reading an opinion piece by Tim Graham stating that in no uncertain terms. I tried to find that piece last night, and couldn’t. Hmm…..
  17. There is a fairly straightforward solution to this problem. Have NFLPA and owners recognize that RB is a unique position, and make the first contracts 2 yrs with a team option for a third. That way RBs can hit a second contract 2-3 years sooner.
  18. Uhh…. Just because they talk about it on sports talk radio doesn’t mean it’s true. Barkley was never offered a 2 yr $26 mil guaranteed contract. Now who looks stupid?
  19. Ah, this is a pedantic argument. That’s pretty close to what it means, and it represents the cumulative opinion of the worlds betting public as to the likelihood of the Bills winning the AFC. it’s the most objective way of obtaining an estimated probability of a future event. Or if you have a better metric, please let me know.
  20. Per DraftKings, Bills are +500 to win the AFC. In others words, DraftKings is saying the Bills have a 20% chance of making it to the SuperBowl. Do the Bills have a 20% chance of missing the playoffs? I don’t think so, my guess is about a 10% chance of missing the playoffs. If they get a rash of key injuries and bad bounces.
  21. Take a close look at that selfie. That’s not McD, it’s a comedian named Bill Burr. He catfished the dude who wrote the story.
  22. I'm not a huge fan of ESPN these days. But they got this right. Kudos to Bills top notch training staff. And Damar for his tribute.
  23. Let’s be clear. The only facts on this topic are the won-loss records that i cited in my post. everything else, no matter how definitively it is stated, is conjecture and speculation. “100% of Josh’sdevelopment” “80% of our wins are due to Josh ; Bills are a 6-7 win team without Josh” is stated as a fact, but it’s complete speculation. Ie, bullcrap.
  24. I specifically phrased this as: "But how much of Allens success is due to McD leadership and coaching?" Yes, of course, McD isnt coaching Allen's throwing mechanics, and the reciever's route trees. But he is the team LEADER. He sets the tone. He sets practice and meeting parameters, he picks (with input from GM) the coaches. He is the one ultimately responsible for success or failure. Not Allen. If the Bills fail to win an AFC championship over the next 3 years, who gets fired? Allen? Nope, it'll be McD. Because he's the leader responsible for success or failure.
  25. "McD is a very polarizing HC." I find statement like this to be absolutely stunning. McD is the best Bills coach this century. Full stop. End of story. McD 62-35 (.639); 5 of 6 season in playoffs. All other Bills coaches since 2000 102/169 (.377); 0 of 17 seasons in playoffs. How is this even a debate?? Yes, of course, McD has had Josh Allen. But how much of Allens success is due to McD leadership and coaching? This is, of course, an unknowable question. But realize that Allen has never had a remarkably successful season except as a Buffalo Bill. His record at Wyoming was 16-12. Allen was regarded as a raw talent, and didnt become a superior QB until his Buffalo Bills seasons. How much of his success was due to his own hard work, his QB coaches (including Dorsey btw), his OC, and his HC is impossible to know. But it is inarguable that McD is the best Bills coach of this century.
