  1. Huh. just tuned into the draft. I vaguely remember a few posters here telling me no way that Han was a first round pick. 16 is pretty solidly in first round.
  2. The comparison to Diggs is pretty good. Dotson is a very good route runner, has excellent speed, and elite hands and ball skills. He’s not a big guy. But where does this “can’t get off press” nonsense come from? The guy played most snaps as Z. He wasn’t a slot receiver at PSU. Gained 2000 yds the past 2 seasons, including the covid shortened season. Against OSU, who puts as many DBs in the NFL as anyone, and plays mostly man coverage, Dotson had over 100 yds in each of the past two seasons.
  3. Cant believe that hondo missed the fact that Kay Stephenson was on both the starting QB and HC list....
  4. I wouldn’t pick any of those three. Metchie is JAG Walker is talented but seemed unmotivated at PSU. Certainly never played up to his talent level. Wouldn’t take a punter in the 3rd ever. I think Stout from PSU is a better punter than Azaiza. Higher percent of punts inside 20, allowed about one tenth the return yardage that Azaiza did. Cross is very good, smart player, always around the ball. Third might be too high, but a better choice than the other 3.
  5. Nope. 1 arrest per year is actually a far lower rate than a comparable non-NFL population. 1 per 90 man squad is 1.1% # arrests, all crimes for 21-24 yo was 1.2 million in 2019. Us population age 21-24 was 21 million. https://www.ojjdp.gov/ojstatbb/crime/ucr.asp?table_in=1 A little fancy math and you get an arrest rate of 5%. I wonder if crimes by NFL players are actually under-reported.
  6. I’m going to second the Jahan Dotson. I think he’ll be available at 25, or may need to go up a bit higher. IMO, his best comp is Paul Warfield. One of the smoothest WR I’ve seen. and has extraordinary hands and ball skills. Biggest knocks against him are lack of top top speed (ran 4.41 at combine, 4.33 at psu). That’s about what Lee Evans ran. and size. Not the biggest guy, but did 13 reps at 225 at combine. Not bad at 180 lbs. I have no real inside knowledge. I’m guessing he goes between 20-35.
  7. Here’s a real sleeper. 7th round or udfa Drew Hartlaub. PSU punt team gunner. Ran a 4.22 40 at psu pro day. Taiwan isn’t gonna be On this team forever.
  8. Big PSU fan so of course I’m biased the thing that sets Dotson apart from all the guys is his truly exceptional ball skills. The guy never drops a ball, and makes unbelievable catches. OBJ like one handers for TD. Plus he runs precision routes, exceptionally smooth. Hope Bills take him if he’s there at 25.
  9. As you say Ford is young. He’s not costing the Bills too much in cap. He plays both RT and guard. Might be worth seeing what the new (old) OL coach can do with him before kicking him to the curb. i doubt Bietker is ready to start the year.
  10. Bates played all OL positions except center at PSU. I’m thinking he plays RG equally well as LG. May not want to disrupt the “chemistry” between Bates and Dawkins.
  11. I have no inside knowledge, but I’d heard Bears front loaded the contract to make it tough to match. So I was guessing a cap hit in 2022 of $6 million or so. Bills would need to restructure contracts to clear this much space. really glad Bills matched. Besides being a big PSU fan, I was really pleased with Bills OL play at end of year. So keeping 4/5 of the line intact seems like a strong move.
  12. Isn’t cutting matakevich on the table? I thought that would free up close to $2 million
  13. This evaluation is spot on. I think TCF can be a good NFL corner. I think the biggest strike against him is that he’s missed a ton of games over the past 2 years due to injury. also, fwiw, psu has a gunner that ran a 4.22 yesterday. Drew Hartlaub. Also played safety but didn’t see the field much. I don’t know why.
  14. Not giving Bates a 2nd round tender was a gamble. If he ends up signing for >$4.0 million, Bills were wrong. In that situation, if they match, they pay him more than the $3.9 mil a 2nd round tender woudl have cost. If they dont match, they lose out on an extra 2nd round pick. If Bates offer is <$4.0 million, Bills made the right call. Given the way Bills OL played last 5 games of the season, I think you want to keep the OL as intact as possible (DW salary was far too high, so he had to go). Given that caveat, I think Bills should have used the 2nd round tender, which would have scared away all other teams. Now they need to sweat a bit.
  15. Phillips Oliver Groot Lawson Miller Basham Epenesa Lotuleilei (who might get cut) thats crazy.
  16. I think its been stated a billion times in this thread. But just in case you missed the first 24 pages. THERE IS NO WAY HE'S GETTING PAID $120 MILLION OVER 6 YEARS. NO CHANCE. NONE. ZERO. The contract could just as easily be for $500 million over 6 years, with the last three years being salary of $150 million/year. Hate to break it to you, but this isnt Beane's first rodeo. Its his job. Call me crazy, but I'm betting that this "overzealous and inexperienced GM" knows a bit more about NFL football an cap management than you.
  17. OK, assuming this is correct, we can now guess at some cap hits. $32 million guaranteed. So lets guess $30 million in bonuses, $2 million salary first year. 30/6 = $5million per year bonus hit. So first year cap hit may be as little as $7 million. To hit $53 million first three years, salary in years 2 and 3 about $10 milliion. Then, to equal $120 million, salary in last 3 years would be about $22 million per year. That will never happen. If he's cut after 1 year its a $25 million cap hit, after 2 would be $20 milliion, after 3 (when he really needs to be cut or contract reworked), its $15 million. $15 million is a big dead cap hit for one player, but in 2025 cap will be $250 million or more, so not that bad. These are just my guesses; it will be interesting to see how its all structured. Clearly a cap gamble, but good move by Beane. He's trying to hit the open window.
  18. I heard that he got out a microphone glass and looked at the fine print, then decided to stay in Washington.
  19. Pretty sure I read on the PSU site that Jahan Dotson met with the Bills
  20. In his podcast, Buscaglia said the numbers from one site were incorrect, and that the Bills had shuffled $2.5 million during a restructuring. And that Bills will only save $1.5 million off Stars cap # (around 8.3 million i think) by cutting him now or after June 1.
  21. Per Joe Buscaglia those numbers are incorrect. Bills would only save 1.5 million by cutting Star.
