Mac Jones is repeatedly dirty and needs to be reined in
pennstate10 replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ahh... i 'll see you the Allen unsportsmanklike and raise you the Allen trifecta. Facemask one Rams DL, throw him into another, and stiff arm AAron Donald for good measure. Never seen a QB called for facemask before. -
Of the three AFC East teams the one that worries me most is Jets. I think Jets loss is the only really legit loss — where Bills was outplayed—the Bills have this year.

Devin Singletary not scoring a TD with 34 seconds left
pennstate10 replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kick was from the 15 yd line so it was 25 yd not 20. where did your figure of 1% come from? Is this based on any facts or simply made up! -
James Cook -- 5.8 ypc(!) and his longest is only 33 yards.

Taiwan Jones. Guy must have some compromising pictures of McD. -
Devin Singletary not scoring a TD with 34 seconds left
pennstate10 replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hey, just curious. after seeing missed 35 and 38 yd kicks this week, is everyone absolutely sure that not taking a sure TD was the right move? My opinion is that it was a close decision, but that McD should have taken the TD. FG, especially in bad weather, might be 90+%, but it’s never 100% -
I think Josh is the MVP. 1) Re: passing stats, consider the windy, rainy, snow bad weather games for Josh. Also consider that bills receivers have highest drop rate in NFL. Despite this , Allen is a top 3 passer when considering all passing stats. And a top 3 runner. 2) Consider supporting cast. Mahomes has Reid, and a top 5 OL. Hurts has the best OL. Burrow has the best trio of wr in NFL. Josh has a below average OL, a first year OC, and 1 top WR. 3). Someone might say Josh has advantage of a top 3 defense. Although this is clearly an advantage if you want to win a Super Bowl , it’s a disadvantage in the mvp race. A top scoring D means you need fewer points, and therefore less offensive output, less gaudy passing stats to win a game. I think it would be interesting to see how DC would vote as to which QB they least like seeing. I guess it would be mahomes and Allen, then burrow, then Herbert, then hurts.

NFL Week # 16 - Bills at Bears - 1st half game thread
pennstate10 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Huh. I do recall a threaD about last weeks game in which posters were debating whether a 25 yd FG was automatic or no. -
Love those Genny Cream Ale pounders. nowhere to get them in the DMV.

Hmm.. I searched 2007 mock draft. Looked at the first 10 results. All had Russell #1. A “bust” is a player who doesn’t fulfill draft expectations. It follows immediately that the players with highest expectations are those drafted highest. Therefore, ipso facto, ergo insalatum, Jamarcus Russell was one of the biggest busts in modern nfl history.
-
Hmm… Jamarcus was the #1 #1, played in only a handful of games, and was out of the league in 3 yrs. And he’s not a bust? ok

I’m guessing you haven’t seen NFC pro bowl roster.

Devin Singletary not scoring a TD with 34 seconds left
pennstate10 replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ahh. If you score a TD there is 100% chance that 6 points go on the board for you. That’s the rule. Lookit, I agree it’s a debatable decision. It seems to me that too many coaches try to overthink situations. Score points whenever you have a chance is a good general guideline. -

Your analysis of the situation is correct. But the determination that it was the “right” decision is dependent on the percentages assigned. Where did you get those numbers from? I could just as easily say in a snowstorm there is a 5% chance of missing the kick and a 2% chance of a TD with 40 sec left. Then it’s the wrong decision. -
MVP; Hurts / Allen / Mahomes by the numbers...
pennstate10 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Am I crazy for saying that the media seems to like Allen, and rather than give it to Mahomes a second time, a tie goes to Allen or Hurts? And if Hurts is hurt, then maybe Josh is favorite, so long as he wins out and plays well the rest of the way. I think Allen is clearly "more valuable" than Hurts. Hurts has a stronger supporting cast (OL, RB, WR). Look at it this way. If Allen was on Eagles, whats their record? 14-0 maybe? If Hurts is on Bills, whats Bills reccord? 8-6/9-5? Who led more comebacks? Mahomes is a different story. He's every bit as valuable as Allen, maybe more so. But Allen is a likable guy, so it wouldnt surprise me if Meida decided to give him a win in a close race. -
Interesting Diggs Split Stat from The Athletic
pennstate10 replied to inthebuff's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not true. this is really a simple and well known statistical question. You simply need to do a students t test comparing the yards gained for each of the 11 plays he was out vs the 72 he was in. My guess is that you would have a significant result. -

Ahh, I think Tony Romo may differ with your opinion on automatic kicks. -
Devin Singletary not scoring a TD with 34 seconds left
pennstate10 replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let’s put it this way. If bills coaching staff didn’t give singeltary explicit instructions to score or not score, they’re idiots. That’s like giving your punter the option to run or punt when the game is on the line in your own end. Players shouldn’t be making that decision, coaching staff should. -

pennstate10 replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let’s be clear, I doubt this was a thought that just popped into Singletarys head during the run. Given that it was an iffy decision, I’m sure that MCD said don’t score, no matter what. They’re not going to leave that decision to a 3th year RB. For the record, I thought it was a bad decision. You play to win the game. I saw psu lose a game against bama in exactly this way. Kicker missed from the 5 yd line as time ran out. and this game had a wintry mix. A gutsy, but unwise call in my opinion. -
NFL Rules on Heaters For Sidelines?
pennstate10 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m 99% sure you’re incorrect. Bills had fans and cooling benches but weren’t allowed canopies similar to the injury tents. That’s what they needed more than anything to provide shade form direct sun, which the dolphins were provided via stadium roof. This is the crux of the unfair advantage and the entire discussion. -
Gotta say that this is pretty close to how I feel about Mahomes.

In the Era of Josh Allen, how about a little Jim Kelly love

Think you missed my point. Married men tend to live near where their wives grew up. -

I don’t know. Kelly stayed in Bflo, but his wife was from Bflo and Kelly grew up 3 hrs south of Bflo. Josh grew up in CA, and his GF is from CA. I think he’s goin back there. -
The "ball did not survive the ground" rule
pennstate10 replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
? No, that’s the key, he wasn’t inbounds. He was OOB (out of bounds). If a guy juggles a pass for 20 steps in bounds, it a catch. if a guy juggles a pass for 20 steps, never has clear possession, and goes oob while juggling, it’s no catch. Have to have complete possession, including not losiing clear possession when hitting the ground. In poyers case, he bobbled the bal oob, so no catch. -
The "ball did not survive the ground" rule
pennstate10 replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Guys, this has been a rule for at least 5 years. You see plays like this every wknd. If you bobble the ball oob, that’s losing possession. It’s really straightforward. if a guy gets 2 feet down, and then bobble the ball oob before turning upfield or some other Football move, it’s no catch. It really was a pretty obvious call.
