  1. The idea of Kelly being a loser since he was on the losing end of 4 SB is silly. If Bills kicker had made a 47 yd field goal we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
  2. A good list, but I don’t think Robinson, JSN or Johnson will be available. I don’t like Addison or Flowers since they duplicate players we already have. I don’t know much about Johnston, but hear that he’s a bit raw. We want someone to contribute next year. That’s why I’m leaning to Campbell. I thin that he’ll be available, he’s athletiic, and was very productive in college.
  3. I basically agree with what you say about players not making significant moves up and down teams draft boards. But we (fans) typically know very little about any teams true draft boards. And they may differ significantly. Most of what we know about teams draft boards is a synthesis of information (and misinformation) that’s been leaked to guys with good contacts , such as Mel Kiper. Thus, invariably, we will see a guy with “consensus” 3rd round grade picked in the 1st round. While another 1st round guy will drift into the 3rd round. TLDR. I agree that players don’t make big moves up or down draft boards. But each teams board is different, and we don’t know their boards.
  4. Zero chance. yet that is precisely what the Bills did 4 yrs ago.
  5. This is silly. I haven’t seen anything close to this strategy used since Eli Manning and John Elway, both >20 yrs ago. since that time, there have been 640 1st round picks made, by >100 different GMs. And not one has used this strategy. Not one. Because it’s effin stoopid!
  6. Are you 12? How many adults use the term “tard” these days to refer to individuals who are developmentally delayed or challenged? Do you have any family members or friends who have kids with Down syndrome for example? SMH
  7. I’ve got a few thought on Scruggs. He’s an above average athlete compared to other centers at the combine. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/juice-scruggs/32005343-5267-3400-4cb9-0ed0b61b2e6f The analysts dinged his production , but I think unfairly. He suffered a serious back injury in an MVA which kept him out of football for 2 years. He’s now recovered and basically started every game the past two years, at guard then center. He hasn’t been surrounded by stellar talent at psu at IOL, nor at QB, which can make his performance seem worse than it is. Base in their performance at PSU, I thought he was better than McGovern, and almost as good as Bates. I think he will be a 5-7 rnd pick, but stick a long time in the nfl.
  8. Bills need to give spencer brown at leas 2 more years to see if he can be successful at RT. He’s young, has elite athleti traits (RAS>9), and just the right amt of mean attitude. but he doesn’t have experience. Malcolm Gladwell wrote a book about exceptional athletes, writers, artists, craftsman. He concluded that you needed to spend 10,000 hours at a vocation before you’re truly elite. True for shooting free throw, playing Mozart, or a journey cover band. Brown didn’t play OL in high school, only 2 years in college, now starting year 3 with Bills. Let’s say he practices tackle movements 2 hr per day n college and 4 hour per day in nfl. So that’s 1440 college hrs. The back injur really set him back, so hee only got about 4 hr x 400d in nfl or 1600. So his total is now 3440 hrs, give or take a few. If he works out full time for next 2 years—700 d x 4 hr, he will be at 6200 total hour, within spitting range of 10000
  9. Gotta say this is a moronic comment. Do stop watches run slower in Iowa? Do rulers measure differently in Iowa? This guy has a good 40 time and elite explosion numbers. Im not saying this guy is as good as Brian Urlacher, but he’s similar size with BETTER testing numbers. https://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?i=4756 Note—Im not making this comp because they’re both white guys. Im making this comp because they are both tall athletic MLB, and Urlacher was the prototype for ideal MLB in a Cover 2.
  10. Is that the Casa do Pizza that used to be on the corner of Hodge and Elmwood?
  11. I’m agreeing with Kiva here. I grew up in Tonawanda, left in 1968. Never heard of Buffalo wings at the time. Moved back in 1983. Wings and pizza were popular with my happy hour crowd. I heard the anchor bar story then. I’ve heard the frank and Theresa anchor bar story a billion times since. I’ve never heard about this Young guy until this thread. I’m not saying it’s wrong, but I’d like to see a bit more evidence than a history channel special before I believe it.
  12. First time I’ve ever heard someone complain about wings being too big.
  13. Gotta say this post didnt age well. FWIW, I dont know if Harris was released or not. But I think Harris will be better for this Bills team than Singeltary. Just my opinion.
  14. I didnt know about this rule. It makes sense to me, one of those rare win-win situations. Player gets the higher salary and gets to keep playing, while team gets a break on the salary cap. With this in mind: Klein Phillips Lawson Q Crowder I think Singeltary, Sweeny , Kumerow, and Jones woudl just be taking snaps away from rookies who could gain from game experience and become better. And spare me the story about an elite gunner who averages 2 tackles per season.
  15. This ain’t rocket science. Edmunds is a good player. Bills wanted him back. But not at $15 million per. Whether he was 24 or 26 yo is completely irrelevant.
  16. Nah, he should go see Stu’s assistant; Helen Waite.
  17. So, you think the video shown by the Jan 6 committee was not real? Just conjured up by the MSM? Tell me, do you also believe that the Neil Armstrong moon landing was filmed in Hollywood?
  18. What people don’t realize is that in a version of Tampa 2 defense, a tall MLB is your best defense against skinny posts. That’s why Brian Urlacher was so good. London Fletcher would be a liability for this Bills team.
  19. Gotta say that I’m mystified why so many posters here think that a few hours of non-violent tape somehow negates the hours of clearly violent tape. it’s like I cut up a half of Nathan Pederman throwing a few completions and clean handoffs and said, “see, no interceptions at all”
  20. That’s not entirely true SF got 2 of their 3 3rd round picks for losing minority coaches to other teams. Saleh and McDaniel qualified as minority coaches. I’m sort of hoping that Bills ask Daboll to take a 23 and me test. I did and found out I’m 1.2% Native American. If Daboll turned out to be 1% minority, would Bills get a retroactive 3rd round pick?
  21. I agree with this. He has ideal wingspan, strength, speed, and explosion. I agree that his feet seem a bit slow, but I think that can mprove with practice. Malcolm Gladwell noted in one of his books that to be expert, elite in any physical action, whether it foul shots, slap shot, or playing a piano, you had to practice that action for over 10,000 hours. So playing tackle just 2 years in college plus the back injury means he hasn’t had enough time to perfect his OT movement skills. I think he deserves more time. But if his back injury becomes a chronic problem, that’s a different story.
  22. It’s a bit more nuanced than that. Players pay tax for each game based on the location. So half his income is taxed at NY state top level, so about $500K in your example. Heres the kicker. Until2017, you could deduct your state tax on your federal return, and it would thus lower your fderal tax. Since Poyer would be in the 35% federal tax bracket, in effect he’d pay 65% of the NY state tax, and federal govt would pay 35% of his NY state tax bill. But that’s no longer true since the cap on deduction of state and local and ptperty tax was capped at $10,000.
  23. Bills absolutely, definitely , positively used their 1st round pick in 2020 for a WR. Diggs. This is simply a fact. that the article ignored. Add in Diggs and it s 45% offense vs 55% defense. The valid point in this article is lack of draft picks on OL. Hope that’s fixed this year.
  24. Interesting topic. Here is my view. My family moved to State College in 1968. First year Charlie Pittman was the guy. Couple years later it was Mitchell and Harris. Mitchell was the elusive Lightning to Harris's plodding Thunder. Me and my 6th grade chums were dumbfounded when Harris was drafted first. Obviously, Steelers knew what they were doing than a bunch of 6th graders.... Harris was faster than appreciated while at PSU, and, although Mitchell was a quality "halfback" with the Colts, in the end, he wasnt able to stand up to the daily pounding that a feature back in the NFL received in those days. BAck to the original post, I'm certainly intrigued by a 225 lb RB who can run a sub 4.4 40. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does at the combine.
