  1. So, you think the video shown by the Jan 6 committee was not real? Just conjured up by the MSM? Tell me, do you also believe that the Neil Armstrong moon landing was filmed in Hollywood?
  2. What people don’t realize is that in a version of Tampa 2 defense, a tall MLB is your best defense against skinny posts. That’s why Brian Urlacher was so good. London Fletcher would be a liability for this Bills team.
  3. Gotta say that I’m mystified why so many posters here think that a few hours of non-violent tape somehow negates the hours of clearly violent tape. it’s like I cut up a half of Nathan Pederman throwing a few completions and clean handoffs and said, “see, no interceptions at all”
  4. That’s not entirely true SF got 2 of their 3 3rd round picks for losing minority coaches to other teams. Saleh and McDaniel qualified as minority coaches. I’m sort of hoping that Bills ask Daboll to take a 23 and me test. I did and found out I’m 1.2% Native American. If Daboll turned out to be 1% minority, would Bills get a retroactive 3rd round pick?
  5. I agree with this. He has ideal wingspan, strength, speed, and explosion. I agree that his feet seem a bit slow, but I think that can mprove with practice. Malcolm Gladwell noted in one of his books that to be expert, elite in any physical action, whether it foul shots, slap shot, or playing a piano, you had to practice that action for over 10,000 hours. So playing tackle just 2 years in college plus the back injury means he hasn’t had enough time to perfect his OT movement skills. I think he deserves more time. But if his back injury becomes a chronic problem, that’s a different story.
  6. It’s a bit more nuanced than that. Players pay tax for each game based on the location. So half his income is taxed at NY state top level, so about $500K in your example. Heres the kicker. Until2017, you could deduct your state tax on your federal return, and it would thus lower your fderal tax. Since Poyer would be in the 35% federal tax bracket, in effect he’d pay 65% of the NY state tax, and federal govt would pay 35% of his NY state tax bill. But that’s no longer true since the cap on deduction of state and local and ptperty tax was capped at $10,000.
  7. Bills absolutely, definitely , positively used their 1st round pick in 2020 for a WR. Diggs. This is simply a fact. that the article ignored. Add in Diggs and it s 45% offense vs 55% defense. The valid point in this article is lack of draft picks on OL. Hope that’s fixed this year.
  8. Interesting topic. Here is my view. My family moved to State College in 1968. First year Charlie Pittman was the guy. Couple years later it was Mitchell and Harris. Mitchell was the elusive Lightning to Harris's plodding Thunder. Me and my 6th grade chums were dumbfounded when Harris was drafted first. Obviously, Steelers knew what they were doing than a bunch of 6th graders.... Harris was faster than appreciated while at PSU, and, although Mitchell was a quality "halfback" with the Colts, in the end, he wasnt able to stand up to the daily pounding that a feature back in the NFL received in those days. BAck to the original post, I'm certainly intrigued by a 225 lb RB who can run a sub 4.4 40. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does at the combine.
  9. Which of Penn States 2023 draft entrants are a fit for the Bills? Here is my non-expert view as someone who has followed these guys through their college careers. PSU has 8th most players currently in NFL, per SpoTrac. The top 10 are all the usual suspects, except somehow Iowa slips in at 9. There are currently two starters on Bills from PSU, both solid if unspectacular contributors. Ryan Bates and Daquan Jones. PSU has had high profile players overdrafted (Maybin) and underdrafted (A. Robinson, C. Godwin) in the past few years. PSU players going to the combine are listed below: Round 1--Joey Porter Jr, CB. One of the top 3 CB in the draft. Will likely be gone before Bills draft, and not a need for Bills. Pass. Round 2-3--Jayir "Tig" Brown, Safety. Top 5 safety. Strong tackler, good ball skills, not an elite coverage guy. I think would be a good fit for Bills. Round 3-4 -- Parker Washington, WR. Slot receiver I've seen mocked as high as 1st round. I dont think he's a first round talent. Best comp is Julian Edelman, but PW isnt as quick as Edelman. Pass Round 3-5 --PJ Mustipher, DT. Was considered a 1-2 round pick in 2021 before ACL. Not as dominant this past year. Could be a "steal" for a team willing to take a chance, but 1T DT not really a need for Bills. Round 4-6 -- Juice Scruggs, C/G. Had a nasty auto accident that delayed his career for over a year. Seems healed from that , started at G in 2021 and C in 2022. Clearly a need for Bills and definitely worth a Day 3 pick. Round 5-7 -- Brenton Strange, TE. Good blocker dependable hands. Not a need for Bills . Pass Round 6+ -- Michell Tinsley, WR. Good college WR, dependable hands, but not elite speed or separation. Pass
  10. JSN from OSU is certainly a #1 WR. He’s a lot like Diggs. Elite route runner and ball skills. Widely regarded as better than Garret Wilson when both were at OSU. But I don’t think he will be available at 27. The only RB I’d take at 27 is the guy from Texas. Otherwise I’d go best available WR or IOL. I think Spencer Brown has shown enough to give him another year.
  11. Actually the dancers reminded me of Kenny from South Park.
  12. Speaking of Beasley, maybe he'd be interested in being a WR coach. After his rap career is over of course.
  13. And Then....?
  14. I don’t believe Gabe YAC was 2.9 yds. Do you have a reference for that stat?
  15. Are there any starting RB in the league shorter than 5’8”?
  16. 205 lb CB at ILB in a 3-4. Bold move Cotton.
  17. We've about beat this topic to death. Here is real data to look at. https://www.lineups.com/nfl/snap-counts/defensive-players-snap-counts Choose team, choose Defense, then scroll down to look at DE and DT. Here is the introductory comments from the site, cut and pasted. "Whether you are playing IDP fantasy leagues or going the extra mile breaking down defenses, snap counts matter for the defensive side as well. Different defensive packages mean different snaps for the players, but things can be pretty steady in this department. Defensive snaps can show injury replacements for the defense, which doesn’t get as much coverage as offensive guys. Players in the secondary can be a bit mixed in nickel and dime packages, and vary on a week-to-week basis. The line is something that can be shuffled around, as certain defensive line players specialize in early down work as run-stoppers and take third downs off. snap counts can dictate the depth chart order for defenses, which can move throughout the season. Cornerbacks and safeties play the most snaps among the defensive units, while the lineman play the least being rotated more frequently. This is a good start to checking out who is playing the most." I looked at two teams other than Bflo. Balt and Car. Balt had a bunch of guys with 20-60% snaps; no DL with >60%. Cin had a bunch between 21-80 %. Of course, this is all skewed because of injuries. Von Miller played 61% of snaps but missed 5 full games; he was probably at 80% or more for the games he played. Bottom line--if you have a stud DL -- like Miller, or Aaron Donald, JJ Watt, CHris Jones, then yes, he plays 75-85% of snaps. You rotate the rest.
  18. “A senseless rotation that no other team finds necessary” Huh. Instead of simply admitting that your statement was wrong, saying you’d take a lap, you move the goalposts. Bills play 8 DL most games. So do many, if not most NFL teams. As a simple example, look at Bills opponent in a randomly selected game. Their last one. Bengals played 8 DL for 22-79% snaps each. https://www.cincyjungle.com/2023/1/23/23567536/bengals-bills-snap-counts-nfl-divisional-round-mike-hilton-trey-hendrickson
  19. Really? Almost all NFL teams, as well as top college teams, rotate 6-9 DL. Its been that way since the 1990s, when the Cowboys started sending "waves" of DL. Here's one reference, but you can find dozens in 5 minutes. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/eagles-defensive-line-rotation-jonathan-gannon There may be a few exceptions. Players like Aaron Donald may play 90% of snaps. How about a recent example. Bills Bengals game. Bengals had 8 DL playing 22-79% of snaps. https://www.cincyjungle.com/2023/1/23/23567536/bengals-bills-snap-counts-nfl-divisional-round-mike-hilton-trey-hendrickson
