  1. Really heads up play by 22 to quickly wave for fair catch. The announcer was wrong, stating that he called it on “the high bounce”. If the ball had bounced, he couldn’t have called a legal fair catch. As opposed to most insides kicks, where the kicker drives it into the ground and gets a high bounce, the TT kicker got under the ball and lofted it. There was no bounce.
  2. Benford went to Nova. FWIW, I think safety is his best position. Not quick enough for corner.
  3. This is my opinion, not a cut and dried fact. Bates started slow but finished well last year as a good OG. Not great, but good. Joe B had his last 13 games scored at 2.82, second best Bills OL. PFF scored Bates a 61.8, McGovern a 52.2. And Bates was not playing his best position (LG). Look, I’m not saying Bates is great. I think Torrence may have more upside potential than Bates, but the operative word there is potential. And by my eye, Bates was the superior IOL compared to McGovern when both were at PSU. My best guess is Bates starts at LG, McGovern at RG, and Torrence takes over RG after a few games.
  4. I think people may not realize how much the lost Covid year and back injury set Brown back. It’s been said that it takes 10,000 hours to become truly expert at any physical task, whether it’s playing the violin, pitching, or soccer. You can debate the 10,000 hour limit, but practice and reps are important. As opposed to most nfl OL, who have been playing OL since high school, Brown didn’t convert to tackle until his 3rd year in college. Given the missed time due to Covid and back injury, it’s fair to say that Brown is still on the steep part of the learning curve. This is an important year. By the way, don’t sleep on Bates. Watched all of his and McGoverns games in college. I think Bates is a better guard. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Bates at LG and McGovern/Torrence at RG.
  5. Why are you bozos clowning on this guy? he was never anything but loyal and hardworking for the Bills. Never a bad image guy. No bad press. Not a criminal. Didn’t have anything bad to say on his way out of town. Why is it so hard to say thanks for your hard work and good luck in Indy? Call me crazy, but I’m thinking that McKittrick was a better ball player than Chandler#81 was.
  6. Hey Mrs S! How’ve you been? Long time no see!
  7. Per DraftKings, Bills are 2nd favorite in AFC. Chief +600 Bills +900 Bemgals +1100 Ravens +2500
  8. Ok, let’s name names. I’ll start. Tim graham wrote a column for the Athletic on how awful the Bills, and especially Beane, were for not cutting him in July. And Matthew Fairburn came in Joe Buscaglia podcast saying basically the same thing. Those guys (Graham and Fairburn) are bozos, not worth your eyeballs. To his credit, Buscaglia tried to slow Fairburn down, and wanted to wait for actual facts.
  9. Are you sure those are the numbers for Bills Connor McGovern? There are two Connor McGoverns, one who played for Cowboys->Bills, the other played for Broncos->Jets. PFF lists just one Connor McGovern at center. The Jets player. They list the Bills Connor McGovern at guard.
  10. As a long time PSU fan, I watched all of Bates and McGoverns games, and have watched Bates games with the Bills. In contrast to what’s been stated in this thread, Bates played guard his first couple years at PSU, and was excellent. They kicked him out to RT and then LT because they had no tackles. It was clear to many observers that Bates was a better guard than tackle. His feet and. Athleticism are good, but arms are too short. McG played guard and center at PSU. Back then, he was better in pass pro than run blocking. Of course, PSU was running this goofy zone read and RPO offense at the time where the strategy seemed to be to allow the DT to blow up the mesh points. My thinking is that Bills signed McG and Bates to be starting guards. But when Torrence became available, they modified that plan. Depending on how quickly Torrence develops, I see Bates at LG and Torrence at RG, with McG being first IOL backup. I think Bates is a better overall guard than McG, and that Bates is better at LG than RG. Not really sure why. Maybe having Dawkins next to him helps. Finally, it wouldn’t surprise me if Bills 5 yr plan is Bates, McG, Torrence from left to right. Finally, given the rate at which OL are injured, Bills would be nuts to trade away either of these 2 guys.
  11. I dont know. I certainly thought Bills were the best team up until the reg season cincy game. They were 12-3, 3 losses by total of 8 points, 2 in games they easily should have won. they had beaten the cream of the AFC (KC and Tenn). They had the best point differential in the AFC. But then came Cincy game. Even before Hamlin went out, Bills D was being pushed around. And post -game, Bills collective heads werent in the game. Yeah, they won a couple more, but they were sleep-walking. Today, by all the pundits scoring, Bills are a top 4 team. Bills, KC, Eagles, Cincy. Personally, I like this team better. DL is improved (provided Miller returns to form). Secondary vastly improved (from the mid year no Tre no Hyde version). Offense is much improved on paper. Better RBs. Better flex TE. Better OL. Spencer Brown with a full off-season to improve. And yes, there are a bunch of ifs above. And until Bills prove otherwise, they dont belong on the field with Cincy. But I'm pretty optimistic.
  12. I sorta doubt that there is only one mathematical solution to the NFL scheduling algorithm. So here’s a novel idea. If your algorithm leads to one team playing another on the road 3 out of 3 years, maybe you ought to think about modifying your algorithm.
  13. Third year in a row we play KC at KC. What’s up with that?
  14. Shorter came to PSU as a 5star, #1 WR recruit. Was injured, then disappointing when he played. Stiff, didn’t separate, dropped balls. I heard he was better at Florida, but didn’t see much of him when I watched them play. He’s still tall, so there’s that.
  15. Thanks, you’re right. I’ll take a lap now…
  16. I’m confused. Your source is stating that Addison “was the only WR they had a first round grade on “, yet Beane directly stated they didn’t have a 1st round grade on any of the 4 WR taken before Bills picked. For the record, I think Kincaid was a better pick thanAddison.
  17. Excellent review Gunner. I think your work is better than some of the people who do this for a living (McShay and Graham for 2). I agree that a safety like Hamilton could take Kincaid one on one. For most plays. But not every play. Also, that’s taking a #14 to neutralize a #25 pick. So you can look at it as Kincaid neutralizing Hamilton.
  18. Ahh… Daniel Jeremiah, who is the best draft guy on TV, had him as 9th best prospect. you gotta stop watching ESPN.
  19. I’m saying Baltimore going jpj.
  20. Shoot. Would have loved to move up for JSN.
  21. Read through the thread. It’s pretty clear. The very first thing he writes (that JSN is off the board due to lack of production) is blatantly wrong. So that calls into question everything that follows. Look at it this way. If you were reading a history of WWII, and the first sentence is “the US entered WWII after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor”, would you believe anything that followed?
  22. But that’s not what you wrote. Here is what you wrote. “WR Fit: Jordan Addison Excludes: JSN (production), Zay Flowers (age), Quentin Johnston (production), Hyatt (production)” I don’t know. When posters write stuff that’s obviously wrong, and then lie about it, that makes me think said poster’s opinions are useless.
  23. Are you seriously excluding the best WR in the draft due to “lack of production”? I would hope that you realize this glaring error indicates that you’re clueless, thus rendering your entire post worthless.
  24. Call me crazy, but I think Darnell Washington and Cole Beasley have different skill sets.
  25. Gunner, really appreciate your work. But… While I agree that it’s unlikely Bernard will hit as a good player, I think Shakir, and Benford..especially Benford…could end up as multi-year starters. Which in my opinion, is hitting big for 5-6 round guys.
