I think this qualifies as the least surprising news to come out of OBD in a long while.

So what other positions should they not have addressed in order to address multiple weaknesses on the OL? QB? MLB? CB? DT? DE?

Everyone screamed "Blow it up! Rebuild from top to bottom!" Now that they got their wish, all you can hear is"OMG! They blew it up! Fire everyone!" Newsflash! The only talent still available is the dumpster dive variety. The cavalry is not coming. We're rebuilding the roster from top to bottom. We'll need another year. Stop complaining. It won't help anything.

Let's not rebuild entirely with past their prime players. Besides, the WR we're missing is the one that can stretch the field, so tying up all that money with Dez would be counterproductive. Other than that, available talent at this point is all the dumpster dive variety. This was never going to be a good season 1 year into a top-to-bottom rebuild. The rookie QB is far from ready anyways. No surprises here, though I honestly expected NP to play a little better than that. Allen probably won't fare any better for a while. He sure didn't look ready last Sunday. Hopefully he will be sooner rather than later. Next year is a realistic expectation for him.

We're 1 year into a total rebuid starting with an entirely new coaching staff, GM, scouting dept, team president and roster. Certainly this 1st game was worse than we all expected, but hardly a major shock. Where were we supposed to get this new OL, WR corps, DL, LB corps, QB and CB who come ready to play in 1 offseason while in salary cap purgatory? Obviously the turnover has just begun. You all knew we had to bite the bullet and go through this difficult process. Yes this team sucks right now and better answers are half a year away. Geez, I thought I was the one that was too negative.

There are plenty of good WR's in the NFL. Quality OL are rare. I think the OL will be MUCH harder to fix, OP.

If by fluke you mean we won't lose by 44 points every week, you are correct. We'll lose by half that many most weeks.

The underlying assumption here is that our HC lacks character so he keeps a bad player to appease his ego and doesn't care how it affects the team. Show some spine and just say what you mean. And for the record, this team has a lot of problems, but this is not one of them. What we lack is talent, not character. That said, KB needs to stop the infantile trash talk and get his own act together.

You're too young to remember Dan Darraugh and the time Ed Rutkowski (SE) had to fill in as our "emergency QB.

If we don't use our first 2 picks on an OT and C, you can forget about 2019 also. WR's and CB's are much easier to find in FA than OL.

I don't know what you were watching, but he didn't look very good today. That said, I'm still hopeful for his future. I don't think he's anywhere near ready yet, though.

We're not "bringing in" anything at this late date unless you want to trade away what is looking like the top pick in the draft to bring in a mediocre talent.

I have to believe the spread will be much bigger than that come game time. Sadly, the D looked MUCH worse than mediocre. This wasn't all on Peterman. Every unit on the roster looked pathetic. It HAS to get better, right?

Yeah, I think Beane is vulnerable, but again, as long as they show at least a little competitiveness. I don't think Kim Pegula's job is in danger, though.

Yeah. I won't argue that point and specifically in L Frazier's case. He's a great DC. I have to say that I feel for Daboll with so little talent to work with. Still, they have to lift things up. Even if we don't win more than a couple games, 47-3 all year means heads will roll. At least stay within a score or 2, right? I can just imagine that postgame interview with Dareus if we play like that against the Jags. He'll be laughing at us for sure.

I know we don't have much talent on this roster, but most of these guys have at least played in the NFL before. The coaches simply MUST do a better job of getting this team prepared. It's only 1 game, but McDermott and Beane will need to get things turned around and at least show a little competitiveness or their tenure at OBD could be short lived. Every realistic person understood that the team was going to take a step backwards this year as part of a full rebuild throughout the organization, but they simply can't perform this poorly all year or the Pegula's will lose all confidence in them. I don't expect them to play this bad every week, though. Still, even my prediction of 4-5 wins is looking pretty shakey right now.

You know when your punter was the best player on the field for your team, you're in trouble. Hey! He only shanked 1! He only fumbled 1 snap! I guess that will be the bar for performance this year. I bet Shady is praying for his release so he can return to Philly.

They could not have filled all the holes on this roster in 1 offseason anyways. I think to say that he does not "intend: to fix the problem makes no sense. Of course they all want to fix the problem at OBD. The real question is can they.
