  1. The underlying assumption here is that we are better than we look. We aren't. Other teams hold certain things back too. Our OL is a disaster right now. Groy beat out the competition at C. I rest my case.
  2. We are 31st in the current power rankings. Only the talentless Colts (other than Luck) are ranked lower. I see no reason why this should surprise anyone. That said, I think Petermann is better than most everyone assumes, but he's going to be running for his life and have few open receivers to throw to in order to get the ball out quickly. Yes, he is better than they think, but I doubt he'll have a chance to show it. This OL struggled last year and at times were completely overmatched. Now they are even worse. I hope Petermann survives.
  3. Why? He's just not very good, even as a backup. He can play all 3 interior positions, but even while OL talent is in short supply he could easily be replaced.
  4. Quality WR's and CB's are a whole lot easier to come by in FA (if you have the cap space) than even G's and C's these days. You are 100% correct.
  5. You want all that talent and you really want to keep Groy? Mills? If we use our top 2 picks on the OL, they might not even make the roster.
  6. I disagree. LG, C, RG and RT are ALL problems and Dawkins should be moved to the other side.
  7. Why? He's way, way too light to play DT. Not a good fit at all.
  8. Jace Amaro, Michael Floyd and Kevin Minter were cut. I haven't followed them much. Numerous G's and C's that I don't know were released as well. Anyone in that group sound like a potential Bill?
  9. I don't see too much OL help coming, but let's hope I'm wrong, eh? LB depth would be more likely or just maybe a receiver...maybe???
  10. My guess is that Beane isn't concerned about 'saving face'. If admitting a mistake means winning more games, that would save face far more than hanging onto a guy that isn't making it happen. People always accuse GM's of this when they couldn't possibly guess the GM's true motivation. Why do so many assume that NFL GM's are so petty?
  11. Great response! I've never waivered in my support even in the darkest times. Many of you are too young to remeber so many years when Buffalo, Philadelphia, Chicago, Pittsburgh and (later on) New Orleans vied for the top pick year after year. Remember when Harvey Johnson coached the Bills to back-to-back 1-13 seasons? Remember when Dan Darraugh or Ed Rutkowski were our starting QB's? Did you know that the Bills won only 43% of their games in their first 50 years. I've learned to roll with the punches and I still say we'll take a step backwards this year and 2 steps forward next year. Who knows? Maybe that proverbial light will come on for Allen and Edmunds early on, but I don't think it has just yet.
  12. I feel the need to point out something that should be obvious, but still seems to confuse some. Acknowledging that the Bills are rebuilding and are still at least a year away from serious contention has nothing whatsoever to do with emotions. This conclusion is based on reason. It has nothing to do with love or hate. As far as the equally absurd notion that only homers are "good fans", I was a loyal Bills fan before they even played their first game. And for the record, I see brighter days ahead. LOL I'm pretty sure you're being sarcastic. Also, if you don't like what your country does, don't leave. Instead, work for change. You can't know that someone is trying "just to be negative" unless you are a mind reader. Don't shoot the messenger just because you don't want to hear the message. Make a reasoned response instead.
  13. Of all the position groups, OL is BY FAR the weakest both on our roster and league wide. We'll be lucky just to sign a depth guy there. I strongly disagree. There is a league wide shortage of OL talent. Many guys that are starters wouldn't have even made a roster 10 years ago. Just look at the OL's from last year for the Bengals, Colts and several others.
  14. Because they are going to get pulverized behind that OL.
  15. Petermann has had the best preseason by a mile, but unfortunately, against the other teams' 2's and 3's. I don't want Josh anywhere near the field until he and his OL are ready.
  16. BPA if it's top 5, but hopefully that's our starting probowl LT for the next 15 years. Quality OL are almost impossible to get in FA, so the draft is the place to get them. It's much easier to find help at WR in FA than good OL starters. I expect a big shakeup on the OL.
  17. I was thinking the same thing, but I will be a little surprised if he doesn't get another shot if he's healthy. I disagree, but you're right. That would be a surprise.
  18. LOL 15-16 wins gets 2 votes! I think those are protest votes, eh?
  19. It seems there's always a player or 2 that gets cut from the Bills roster before the regular season that was unexpected. Who is your surprise cut. More than 1? None? I think there won't be any big surprises. They would normally cut a couple guys on the OL after a disasterous preseason, but we have no replacements. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new OL or 2 after the cut downs, though. I also think a LB or 2 could be added for help with depth. I expect all 3 QB's to make the roster because they know that the risk of injury there is very high.
  20. Well, he just scored a TD on the only good passing play of the game for our offense. I guess that's something.
  21. I disagree, but who the heck knows with all these young players in key positions? Maybe the light will come on and Allen and Edmunds will be killin' it in November. Right now, they look pretty raw, though.
  22. I think this is the best answer so far. Right on the money.
