  1. I really do think Hughes is the least of our problems. With pressure coming from the other side this year, his numbers will go up and it's not all about sacks either. If he's all over the field making plays, I'm fine with 6 or 8 sacks and a lot of pressures and some hits. Those penalties hurt him, though.
  2. Trent vs Shaq Harry vs Kyle I'm also keeping an eye on that #2 TE spot. and FB. Our backup TE's played poorly as did our FB. They need to help out more on wide running plays for Shady to be able to turn the corner. None of our OL are any good except maybe Dawkins will come around in year 2. I could easily imagine some late cut stepping in to start on the OL early in the season to help shore up our weakest overall position group -- WR's are our 2nd weakest group.
  3. I'd be very surprised if it didn't. How can it not? Injury (knock on wood) is about all I can think of. We know he has all the measurables.
  4. My thoughts exactly. It's a big risk, though.
  5. Don't forget that part 2 of the rebuild happens next offseason when we cash in on FA with a boatload of cash for a new speedy WR with good ball skills, LB help, CB, OL help, etc. We still have all our picks as well.
  6. I saw a TON of pancakes on that video. Let's hope he's the next Sam Gash. Nice ball skills too. If Josh is starting this year, he'll need a speedy long ball target to be effective. It will likely be strongest part of his game over time.
  7. Allen isn't the 1st QB to have "accuracy" issues. How often can that even be fixed and how well can it be fixed? Poll Question: What % of the time can QB accuracy be fixed well enough for them to become franchise QB's?
  8. Make 3 predictions for the 2018 Bills. 1. The Bills will struggle most against teams with strong DL's. 2. Shaq, Murphy and Hughes will make the competition for starting DE very entertaining. 3. Matt Milano will make a sizeable jump in performance in his 2nd year.
  9. I disagree that all contracts should be entirely because that ignores other worthy factors such as risk of injury and life long consequences as well as the many hours of preparation required.
  10. Good points, but EJ Gaines was not anything near a shut down CB. I'll grant that he was in the top 40%, but 'shut down' is quite a stretch.
  11. I agree with the OP, but force is mass times acceleration, not velocity. M x V = Momentum You'd be getting TD returns like crazy! Think about all that open field!
  12. What principle is he standing for? The one that says you should bulldoze your career if some event over which you have no control and has nothing to do with you doesn't turn out as you wanted.
  13. Good to hear! I know you can always have a lot of sunshine blown up your u no where about the rookies every year. Oh this guy looks great and then he turns out to be terrible. Let's hope for the sake of this franchise that he wows us when the games count.
  14. That is his strength. He's better at the longer stuff than the dink and dunk throws.
  15. It seems the folks at PFF don't think very highly of our draft at all. Your response? The Bills review starts at about 2:45 in from the start.
  16. I'd be thrilled if he were just average. It would be a major improvement. Can he play 4-3 OLB? I think he's too big. Since when is he an "excellent edge setter"? I have yet to hear about Shaq's run defense prowess anywhere other than these forums. No one seems to think he's very special. They even signed Trent Murphy to replace him.
  17. His stats will be terrible and he'll take a ton of sacks. In fact, whoever is back there will take a ton of sacks. Our WR's are the league's worst at gaining separation and our OL is a horror story. On top of that, we won't be able to run well. Allen will have to prove to me that his inaccuracy can be fixed. According to PFF, his accuracy even in short areas were much less accurate than most college QB's. I'm pulling for a turnaround there, but I have my doubts. The good news is that we still have all of our 2019 draft picks and will have a ton of money to spend on FA's next year so we can fix these problems.
  18. With or without Jones we need help and speed. Jones has only been 1 misfortune after another. I'm really starting to wonder if he's just gonna be another James Hardy. WR, OL and also RB/TE will have to wait til next offseason when we'll have much more to spend.
  19. And then there are those very disturbing accusations after the playoff game which no one seems to remember.
  20. He may stay retired, but would another team give him a better offer?
  21. I am fine if KB is the 2nd best WR on the roster as long as #1 has speed to burn as well as other positive attributes. Having Jones mature as a 3rd WR would help a lot too. In 2019 there will be a relatively expensive FA starting opposite KB anyways. I expect the TE position and OL to look very different as well.
