  1. Don't count out Edwards-Torrence at the starting G spots either.
  2. 3 minutes ago, MrEpsYtown said: David Edwards is my sleeper. I think he starts. I don't know what happens everywhere else, but they talk him up every chance they get and he was a high level player before his injury last year. He is also still very young. I also think Boogie Bahsham has a mini breakout. ------------------------- I sure hope so. Edwards wasn't great before injuries took their toll, but he was still pretty good and his best years may lie ahead. Basham has shown flashes and could win a starting job before Von returns. I like these picks.
  3. Each year it seems that a player or 2 that few, if any, had on their radar outperforms all expectations. Who will be 2023's big surprise(s)? I'm going with Alex Austin. He slid primarily due to a slow 40 time, but if moved inside he could be pretty good. It may take some time for him to adjust though. I also think the future is bright for Dorian Williams, but not so soon. He has some outstanding traits, but needs coaching and experience to put it all together. I love his speed in particular. In the mean time, I expect his ST contributions to be noteworthy. Justin Shorter is another intriguing prospect after his college career was marred by a rash of injuries. If healthy, he might finally live up to expectations. I know from watching draft room video that Beane really liked him a lot. We'll see if that admiration was warranted. I'd end by saying that the success of our top 2 picks will not surprise me at all. I think the sky is the limit for Kincaid and Torrence.
  4. I'm 67 so I'm older than the franchise, but I have never waivered in my allegience. It has, at times, been tough. No doubt about that. I will remain a fan all my life unless this franchise is either dismantled or moved at which point the NFL will become irrelevant to me. I continue to hope that I will live to see the Bills hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
  5. I don't remember anyone ever saying that about Zay. And anyway, he's become an OK receiver since he left Buffalo. I'm more excited about Torrence anyway since the OL was easily the weakest unit on the team last year. I so hope Spencer Brown can be just average. Even that would be a huge improvement.
  6. I'd love this move -- especially if he could play G. Roullier and Torrence at G with Morse at C is way better than what we had just 3 weeks ago. If we can get him on a low budget deal while he gets healthy, that's a steal. I doubt it happens, but I'd love it if it did. MLB is still top priority though. I don't think our starting MLB is even on the roster yet.
  7. Simmons isn't the superstar AZ expected, but he's still OK. Kinda like Oliver in that regard.
  8. I'm surprised we're rated as highly as Cincinnati to be honest. Until we beat them, they have to be considered the better team, right?
  9. Clearly we need to add a MLB, but it may not happen until roster cuts come. Until then, one of our backups will have to man that spot. I have a feeling their plan, whatever it was, got fubar'd and they're forced to scramble for a lesser option. I'd be happy just to see an average talent at MLB. My money is on an aging veteran that gets a 1 year deal and a day 1 or 2 draft pick in 2024.
  10. LOL speeding? Is this a joke? How come I don't get a thread when I get a ticket?
  11. I don't know because I knew our OL was going to be a problem last year. I certainly don't see us as SB favorites now unless a few more pieces fall into place. This team is still good, but I suspect we'll take a step back in 2023.
  12. I'll be absolutely amazed if Torrence isn't a day 1 starter. I also think he will light a fire under the collective backsides of the other Offensive Linemen. As far as Brown becoming "real nasty" goes, I'll believe it when I see it and I'm not holding my breath. He still has a ridiculously long way to go and remains among the worst starting RT's if not the very worst. Some say Quessenberry is worse, but I just don't see it.
  13. You'd think they'd be signing a RT and ILB. They've done absolutely nothing about either of our 2 biggest needs yet. Is there a plan?
  14. He has been hurt, but he's certainly played at a higher level than Brown up to now. I understand he's set a price for teams to talk to him, but eventually reality will set in. If Brown makes a good step up, so much the better. Dalton Risner is still out there too if we're so inclined, but they're already commited to McGovern it appears. I think Dawkins - Risner/McGovern - Morse/Bates - Torrence/Bates - Wynn/Brown looks much better than last year's OL. I doubt either of these signings will happen, but either one would be nice.
  15. We have 2 solid NT's now. Ford is every bit as good as Jones too. Neither is great, but still...
  16. Solid move. If Harris can't go, we still have a capable power funner.
  17. Not that he'll be great, but a 4.49 40 time! That's crazy fast for a LB. In any case, he's a Bill so I wish him the best and who knows? Maybe he will be great after all. Stranger things have happened. There are a few UDFA's in the HOF after all. We can only hope he'll be the next.
  18. Everyone looks good on their highlight video. I do like that he can hit tho. Since he's slow, maybe they move him inside.
  19. I wouldn't say that Harris is any better than Singletary, but he's no worse and he's a better fit. I also think we're weak at 1 Guard spot even with Torrence whom I expect to be our best Offensive Lineman. I'm not at all impressed with any of the other Guards on our roster. Still, it's Brown's 3rd year and he's healthy, so that bodes well. Also, I think Torrence brings a very positive outlook to the OL room that should lift performances across the board. If we sign even an average MLB or trade for one and even land Hopkins to pay us back for Hail Murray, this team is going to be as good as any in recent memory. Josh obviously needs to reduce the turnovers after leading the NFL in that category last year, but he can do that for these reasons. For one, he can slide more and wrap up the ball much better. That should reduce fumbles. Also, throwing from a clean pocket and having better skill players along with a more productive ground game should help him reduce interceptions. I'm surprised we didn't trade up for one of the 2 quality MLB's left in the 3rd, but perhaps Beane just wasn't able to find the right deal. I believe we'll be OK if we just get a veteran MLB with decent speed and cover skills as well as a pass rusher to hold down Von's spot until he's ready to go.
  20. I have a feeling we will trade up for a ILB.
  21. O'Cyrus Torrence please! YESSSSSSS!!!
  22. Are there any decent OT's left? I'm afraid our crying need for multiple upgrades on our OL will go unheeded.
  23. I have to believe Knox is now trade bait. He's far too good to be TE2 and we traded up in the 1st to get his replacement. Surely they didn't draft a TE 2 in the 1st. Kincaid runs a 4.71 40, so playing him as a WR makes little sense unless he's our new slot guy. BTW, Kincaid doesn't block well at all, so in-line TE also seems a remote possibility. He also wants to play for the Bengals. I sincerely hope either Cody Mauch or Matthew Bergeron is in their crosshairs. We can always sign a FA MLB before the season if there isn't one they like in the 3rd. I just don't understand why Beane isn't more concerned about our OL. They're freaking awful and he just keeps signing more bad O Linemen thinking that will solve the problem. It won't. I feel bad for Josh and Damien Harris. They sign a receiver that Josh will be throwing to while he's running for his life. I thought McDermott said he didn't want Allen to get injured. Replacing that human turnstile at RT would certainly help that cause.
  24. Trade down!!!
