  1. While I do agree somewhat, I see the appeal of getting some elite physical traits in the secondary. Drafting guys in later rounds usually means you miss out on the elite traits. I think that is what our secondary is missing. We can play well against a lot of teams, but if they have some physical specimens at receiver or TE, they struggle. We need more speed and physicality to match up to Hill and Kelce (but not just them. It isn't all about the Chiefs). Anyways, it is a little silly to be talking about this before free agency. Who knows what the needs will really be? We have to see how free agency plays out.
  2. He should definately be extended. He is underpaid by a wide margin. Keep him happy. And you can lower his cap hit next season by doing so. Absolute no-brainer. He has been mature and hasn't complained at all about his contract. Reward him for being an elite player and a great teammate and for not being a distraction.
  3. That's not true at all. Players' draft stocks have risen significantly after good combine performances. We all like to act like it doesn't happen, but it does. Some years more than others. Any chance these guys have to put more of themselves in front of NFL decision makers, the better for them. Obviously, this does not apply to guys with high first round grades, but every other player benefits from it. Wow. Good on the NFL to save these immature players from their own stupidity, then. Going out drinking and partying before the biggest job interview of their life and perhaps missing out on millions of dollars?
  4. Seems like the medicals are what the NFLPA are opposed to, right? I think the interviews are valuable. Getting to sit each player down and run through plays and ask other questions.
  5. Whoever loses free agency musical chairs among the available backup QBs. I'm hoping for Mariota.
  6. I was literally going to post this same thing. Nice.
  7. I still don't understand the "Mount Up" thing. What are we mounting? What does that have to do with mafia? Are we going to ride our Buffalo through town?
  8. Can't say I have ever listened to him or thought about him.
  9. I disagree. Dalton and Smith both had some really good regular seasons in their days. But they both lacked that ability to put the team on their backs in critical situations. I think Carr lacks that as well.
  10. Hey, if there is really infighting going on like they claim, that sounds great to me. Keep it going.
  11. That seems smart. Too much can change between now and then.
  12. Carr is the new Andy Dalton or Alex Smith. You can do better, but you can do worse too. They are right on that line. They aren't good enough to get you anywhere special, and they aren't bad enough to really actively want to replace them.
  13. 1- Patrick Mahomes 2- Josh Allen 3- Justin Herbert 4- Joe Burrow Nobody else worth mentioning in the AFC. No way is Burrow the best in the AFC. He is nowhere near Mahomes and Allen yet and I'd say Herbert is better too.
  14. Some of these guys never matured beyond middle school.
  15. Rumors are this is his next girlfriend:
  16. They did huddle, but Bass was not in the huddle because he was practicing kicks away from the rest of the special teamers. The Special Teams coordinator needs to ensure that Bass knows what to do. Maybe he said to relay the message to him and that didn't get done. Who knows? But that responsibility is on the coordinator. It's not a movie. Everyone on the sideline has a job to do, including the head coach. His job is not to go do another person's job. That creates chaos and confusion.
  17. They didn't like it because both defenses affected the game. I think it really comes down to that. And the championship games were really good, I thought.
  18. Rodgers is a great QB. I would not put him in the top 5 all time just because there are a lot of great QBs. Maybe top 10? If he goes and wins another Superbowl or two, that changes. We'll see. A few QBs that would be tough or impossible for him to pass up (in my mind) without more championships: Brady, Manning, Montana, Young, Elway, Graham, and Unitas. I put Rodgers in the same category as Brees and Marino. Absolutely amazing QB's. If they could have won another championship or two (or even one for Marino), they would be top 5 easy.
  19. Not at all. Learning that an NFL owner is corrupt and trying to cheat should have stopped being a surprise for you when you learned what the Patriots were doing all those years ago, and then again after the multiple Patriots scandals since then. If anything, this shows that they will do anything to win. Ross wanted to tank to get a better draft pick to help them win. Tanking is nothing new. We know organizations want to tank sometimes. It's not that big of a deal to tank. But paying your coach to tank is idiotic. The NFL has never been more interesting for me. For years I lamented that there were no young up-and-coming QB's in the league to take over the elite status from guys like Manning, Brees, Brady, etc. Now we have a bunch of guys like Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, Burrow, etc. For years I wanted the Bills to be good, and now they are. So this is prime NFL interest for me.
  20. Yes, it's a problem for sure. But it shows that Beane knows it and is trying to address it. He has struck out so far, but he needs to keep swinging. It is a major need. I am wondering if scheme is part of the problem. Don't rotate so much. Let the starters get into a groove and set up the olinemen.
  21. The Bengals have a bad oline. Didn't stop them. Neither of those two teams have great running games. And, despite what you think, the Bills do have good coaches.
  22. Maybe if the Chiefs had gotten to the Superbowl and won it, there would be more merit to this take. I think the Bills are close, but what they lack is a defensive line that can generate pressures and sacks. Beane has really tried to address that, but the results have not been there yet.
  23. Steelers. I know you are not going to like that answer, but I prefer the best team who is consistently good and gives you a shot to win it every single year instead of the team that has one good year and then sucks. Which fans had more hope for their team the past decade? Yes, I want the championship, but I also want to root for a good team season in and season out.
  24. I think the Rams were the more talented, experienced team. The Bengals are scrappy, but the better team won, I think.
