Are you worried about the corners behind White? McDermott gets the most out of the secondary and we have had one of the best passing defenses in the league since he has been here. You shouldn't be worried. I don't think it is a weakness at all.

NBC shoot going on at Hammer's Lot

Georgia is top 5 in total cases and top 4 in new daily cases. Makes sense. Also top 10 in deaths, top 4 in new deaths. -

I've been arguing against the fear mongering all along, but we ARE in a pandemic and social distancing is the one thing that indisputably works. Gathering for no reason is dumb. 1% death rate is not what determines a disease to be a pandemic. -

Until it isn't from dumb people making dumb decisions, like congregating in a big crowd for no reason. -

That seems pretty tone deaf and it's just plain bad advice during a pandemic... -
Scared how the season plays out
MJS replied to Bills fan since 87's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, that's called caution. Fear makes people do stupid things, or nothing at all. -
Cool video. Tre is very humble and real. Really like that about him. A lot of corners just brag and talk about how great they are and that they are the best and they can cover any WR. I like how Tre is real and talks about how hard it was to deal with some of these WR's, and how he wasn't going to win a jump ball against Sutton, etc.

Scared how the season plays out

Don't be scared. Fear doesn't help anything. -
Or Daboll isn't that good. He's never shown that he can field a top 10 offense in the past, if I'm not mistaken. He hasn't had much to work with, but we can't say he's a good coordinator just because he hasn't had talent to work with. He has a lot to prove this year too. That's the hope. Yeah, we think those guys will get better, but sometimes players don't. And sometimes they get worse. Everyone thought Baker Mayfield was going to have a monster season and he ended up looking pretty bad. But yeah, I have faith in McDermott and Beane. I have faith in what they are building. We just haven't seen the offense perform consistently at even an average level yet. I sure hope this is the season they put it together.

Ok. I think they could be top 10 on the very high side and like 20th on the low side. But I expect them to be more middle of the pack, which is a huge upgrade from last year, honestly. As I've said, I think our offensive line is below average and unfortunately our playoff game illustrated to the rest of the league that they can get to Allen almost immediately if they rush him. He had multiple defenders in his face unblocked on almost every key down in the 2nd half. We have a lot of good depth on the line, but a couple below average starters. The question is, will fans be happy with an average offense, or are they going to be angry if we aren't top 10? With all the hype the offense is getting, it seems like fans will be disappointed with an average offense even though average is a huge improvement.
-
All of that assuming Daboll is a good offensive coordinator and can use the pieces well, which is not a given. And what does that mean to you? Do we have a top 10 offense? How many more points per game will we get? Last year we were 24th in yards and 23rd in points per game at 19.6. Top 10 last year would have been at least 25.1 points a game.
-
Moss is a rookie. I don't like to assume that rookies will be major contributors. But he may. I expect him to be better than Gore. Another year in the system is only good if Daboll is actually a good coordinator. I guess we'll see. FYI I do expect the Bills to be better on offense. But I don't expect them to suddenly be a top 10 offense. I think they need a better offensive line and obviously Josh needs to get better too. I don't expect him to turn into Joe Montana over night. I expect him to make steady improvement, though.

The Bills are pretty similar to last year except for Diggs. The oline is still below average, in my opinion. Now, maybe Diggs makes the huge difference that we all hope he does. That's totally possible and maybe even likely. But people are saying the Bills now have loads of talent around Allen on offense and really what they mean is we now have Diggs. That's the only difference. I expect that our offense will still have growing pains. And I'm not convinced Daboll is that good of an OC yet, anyways. The jury is still out on him. Can our offense be really good with basically only one different player? I guess we'll see.
-
I mean, he is still under contract, so I would think that NEXT year is really the make or break year. The narrative is that Josh Allen won't have any excuses for poor play because he now has a number 1 receiver. Josh is safe (in that he'll get another year as a starter) if he plays the same, improves, or does slightly worse. If he falls off a cliff, maybe he isn't safe and the Bills are looking for another QB next year. But I expect he will improve, but perhaps not to the degree his detractors are demanding.

Bingo. I didn't read the article, but this was what I was expecting it to say.

Lack of legit backup QB may be Bills' 2020 Achilles heel
MJS replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Newton wasn't realistically going to sign somewhere to be a backup, and I wouldn't want him anywhere near this team anyway. He is as "me first" as it gets. Winston has had a truck load of off the field and character issues. Neither of those guys were realistic to sign. Now, there are other guys who would have been decent options, like Marcus Mariota or Case Keenum, maybe even Blake Bortles. I would have liked to see them go after one of those guys. They all have years of starter experience and even playoff experience. But I'm not bent out of shape that backup QB wasn't a priority. Their approach of drafting a guy to develop is fine with me. -

Discussed by delusional fans, maybe. But not by Bills decision makers. You are crazy if you think that is the case. Same goes for every team we face.
