OL coach Bobby Johnson headed to NY, has signed contract
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills do not block things. They want to be on the side of the coaches and allow them to move on to other things. It's the correct approach anyways. You want the best and brightest to want to come to Buffalo knowing that they can develop here and move on when new opportunities are presented. You don't want to miss out on talent because you were short sighted and blocked a move. And who cares if we lose our oline coach? Our oline has not been good. And there are plenty of guys they can bring in to replace him. -
I think Allen will be on a mission next year and will take the league by storm. Yes, he'll have some down quarters here and there, but I think he is going to take full command of that offense. I think it will be the best Josh Allen season yet. Does that mean the Bills will win the Superbowl next year? Maybe. Maybe not. It takes so much to get to the Superbowl and win it. But no team has a better shot than the Bills next year. Some may have just as good of a shot, though. The AFC is becoming a monster.

Most coaches haven't played, at least at the highest level.
-
What effectiveness are you referring to?
-
That's the hope. Ed Oliver has been progressing nicely as well.

Josh Allen was feeling the pain of today as well

Maybe he stubbed his toe. Well, actually the Bills beat them the last time they played them, which was in the regular season. So it wasn't two Chiefs games in a row. But yeah, playoff games. -
I was very heartened when they picked up that "defenseless receiver" flag in the Rams vs 49ers game. It was a great, clean hit by the defender.
-
Yes, we have been missing that elite guy on defense. A game wrecker on the defensive line would make this team truly elite. I don't think we need another elite receiver. We have Diggs. The rest of the guys have shown they can take over when Diggs is doubled and game planned out of the game. Obviously, we have an elite QB. I didn't want Beckham and I stand by that. Von Miller, though? Sign me up. But they traded him out of conference for a reason. On defense we have Tre White, but we need one more elite guy. An elite MLB or an Elite pass rusher would go a long ways. The Bills of the 90's had that on both sides of the ball and it is what we are missing now. Jim and Thurman on offense, Bruce on defense. We need our Bruce.

They might not win it. We'll see. Stafford is a good QB, but Burrow is becoming a great QB.
-
I didn't even need to check who gave you negative reactions. So predictable.
-
Wow, that hit on Stafford was ridiculously dirty. Went right for his head.
-
Chiefs were holding all day on defense too, and it didn't get called at all.
-
And then they beat the 1 and 2 seeded teams in the playoffs to get to the Superbowl...

What happened to her hair? Did she lose a bet?

Mahomes choked. That wasted time out by Andy Reid in the first half cost them points at the end of the first half as well. Happy to see the Bengals advance. Good for them.
-
If McDermott wasted a time out like that fans would demand his firing.
-
Yeah, I haven't looked at their contracts, so I can't speak to that.
-
I'd rather trade for Kamara. Their team is in cap purgatory. Their head coach just resigned. They will be rebuilding and dumping some of their high cap players. Kamara is the best receiving back in the NFL. Barkley can't stay healthy, it seems.

This team you are referencing is 50+ players, plus a bunch of coaches, sideline personell, random media people, etc. It's too many people for just the head coach to gather around, plus that stadium is really loud. You have to have a process for communication for each of the units that go out there. In this instance, that process of communication broke down somewhere. You have coordinators for a reason. McDermott got the call to the coordinator, the coordinator got the call to the players. Somehow Bass did not hear or did not understand. It's a big failure of communication. I don't put this on McDermott except that he is the leader and the buck stops with him. However, the defensive play calls afterward certainly he should be more accountable for. I'm sure he was involved more directly in those play calls. If he wasn't and he let Frazier just call it, that's a problem.
-
With how loud that stadium is, perhaps it was as simple as Bass not hearing the call correctly, or him just incorrectly assuming he was supposed to kick it deep. I think the worse offense was their defensive calls, though. When they kicked it into the end zone I thought "Ok, I guess they didn't want to risk a return. They had a big return earlier. Whatever." But prevent defense? Leaving the middle of the field wide open? That is the true failure here. The Chiefs had three time outs.

I love some of you… but I hate this site right now

Excellent thread titles. Can you come up with a few more? -
McDermott's first Offensive Coordinator hire back in 2017

That's called NFL football. I watch a lot of teams outside of Buffalo and there are mistakes made in every single game. It is the most complex sport in the world. -
Josh Allen's 4 year progression displayed through one stat?
MJS replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
They'd all want the ball at the same time.
