  1. Dont see it at all with Thorson. He and Drew Locke come up as darlings in the scouting world so I am obviously missing something on both of them.
  2. Agree to disagree on this one. I think it's close but Fournette was incredibly underrated as a pass catcher, averaged 12 yards a reception to Zeke's 8. Fournette was trending towards, if not on the same level as Peterson after his Sophomore year. I think his Junior year changed a lot of that, but it was clear he had checked out and was on to the NFL.
  3. I would go Peterson and Fournette before Barkley if we are going that far back to someone like Barry Sanders. Barkley is a great prospect, for sure top ten guy but I wouldnt put him over the two I mentioned before until the end of the year.
  4. Unlike the Bills the Rams are doing the right thing and building around a quarterback they picked in the 1st round. Honestly, the Bills should have went for it this year. I have to imagine McBeane gets more than just three years to do this thing, think about it next year will be the first year with a new quarterback of their choosing and they will already be in year two. Does it make any sense to fire them in year three with only two full years with the quarterback they chose? If they get anything less than four years here it will be a mistake.
  5. He doesnt know how to throw wideouts open and he wont risk throwing to someone who is even half way covered to try and let his wideout win. There is no excuse for an NFL quarterback to throw under 150 yards in a game, none. He may not be the only issue, but he is the only player on the team that can impact those problems enough to mask them or illuminate them. They better figure out if they want to try and make the playoffs, fail and win six to seven games or if they want to get a franchise quarterback because while the draft has two or three of them potentially they wont be there at 12 or 15 or whatever pick we end up with trying to win now and win later
  6. Agree with Polian. Watched his first two games this year and while he has improved as a passer, and makes some nice seam passes he doesnt have the ability to make timing passes with a great deal of accuracy.
  7. Not talking about one play. I think his body of work is incredibly hyped because he makes for a good article. Ive watched the games, I am not impressed. He holds the ball a very long time for someone who is flawless in his ability to read defenses and drop "dimes". I think he is a first round guy but I dont think he should enter the conversation for top ten. He has accuracy and leadership issues, not a proven winner, and his arm strength is overblown. I Dont know how he'd be on USC, no clue but I know I dont think he is as good as the hype suggests, and if he wasnt verbose I dont think a lot of others would either.
  8. And still won. And wins 92% of the time. Rosen is currently at 59%, his team maybe terrible but if I am taking someone top ten I want someone who rises above that, not someone who throws pick sixes across his body.
  9. He didnt throw five touchdowns, he threw four and had two picks to go along with them. Just to clear things up was his defense to blame for his 60% completion rate against the steel secondary of the Memphis defense?
  10. Rosen is so polarizing on this board its impossible to get an accurate portrayl of him. Not sure if people are watching the games or basing their opinions off of liking or disliking personally but I am still amazed by all his hype. Not going to argue it anymore because its been beaten to death, but for context sake Texas A and M beat Nicholls by ten points last week, they were also down to UL Layfaette this week before winning. Easily take Darnold, Rudolph, and Mayfield before him. However it seems a lot of Bills fans love him, including our AM morning guy who is very impressed with Rosen's podcast...tell me again how little time you have for school.
  11. Statistically both Soccer and Lacrosse are just as likely to cause concussions. Mens water polo is the most dangerous high school sport to take part in. The difference here is those sports dont fit a narrative or create as many clicks and out rage amongst middle America.
  12. The good news is smart money is on both of us being right. Quarterback success rate in the NFL is something around 19% of those drafted. Agree to disagree and wait to see how it turns out.
  13. I feel like we may have had this exact discussion in another thread. Feel like you're generalizing about Mayfield being a loose cannon from one incident. The Manziel comparison to me is a bit lazy. Not every athletic "short" quarterback from a spread offense is Johnny Manziel. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, just feel like this one is wrong. Mayfield makes passes I dont think Manziel could have made. I'd love to see the comparison between Mayfield's and Manziel's average time between snap and throw. I think that would put the comparison to bed quickly. When looking at both Mayfield and Rosen, simply put I think they both have jerk tendecies, but in terms of pure arrogance Mayfield is nowhere near Rosen. If you want to portray Rosen as a well read forward thinking person thats fine, but to me he comes across as a person who has very little clue about real life and comes across as immature and ignorant because of it. I dont get the sense he is a team first leader. But make no mistake about it, he has character issues. Its been well publicized he isnt well liked by his teammates, ala Connor Cook. Also, think its a little early to put Chad Kelly in the same category as Manziel. Statsitically speaking its likely, but it could be for any number of reasons.
  14. Please explain the Manziel comparison outside of playing in a spread offense? Manziel was a dual threat QB. Mayfield is athletic but is so far from being a dual threat, he averages 22 rushing yards a game. His mobility is inside the pocket, does he scramble outside of the tackle box yes, but thats more akin to someone like Tyrod Taylor. Manziel was a sand lot football player. The height thing remains to be seen, but standing next to a 6'2 reporter after last weeks game he wasn't dwarfed. Personally think Rosen's character concerns are much worse than Mayfields'.
  15. Easily my favorite player in college football right now. I dont think he can challenge Darnold as the #1QB in the class, just doesnt have the physical stature. However, I dont think its unfair to say he should be in the conversation for #2 with Mason Rudolph. The Manziel comparisons are probably a bit unfair. Totally different animal. Manziel was extremely talented and may have been an amazing pro if he cared the least bit about football. Manziel also ran a lot, Mayfield doesnt do that nearly as well. Mayfield has also started a lot more games, including games against quality competition. Manziel had Evans to throw it up to, Mayfield doesnt have a player like that. He is a throw first QB and I think he is incredibly underrated because of his height. Not saying it shouldnt be an issue, however Russell Wilson and Drew Brees are examples that it isnt always the rule.
  16. It felt different to me, but in the way where I wasnt excited to watch the game. I wanted to be, but for some reason couldnt get. I think it was because its the Jets, but overall I am not expecting a lot from this season. Hoping the excitement comes back for the Carolina game.
  17. A win is a win. They have wideouts, they will use them. Gotta start taking it on a game by game basis and not overreact to the first one. With that being said I unfollowed all the Blitz reporters when they made it 3 dollars a month. Not a lot of money, but the content doesnt justify it. Will only miss Carruci and Trepasso.
  18. I dont think the issue was ever not resigning TD Mike, the issue was not putting a higher round tender on him. Should have learned from the lesson the year before with Hogan. To your point on Banyard, reminds me a lot of TD Mike. But he has to show he can hold onto the ball.
  19. Really like this signing. Didnt realize he was available.
  20. Can I ask, in all seriousness why he is a safe bet? He is below 60% career completion percentage and hasnt been a proven winner. Heard the exact same things about Hackenberg coming out, that his team was to fault. A good quarterback makes his team better. Just dont see it with Rosen
  21. Mason Rudolph, Baker Mayfield and Luke Falk all had great games though
  22. Said it many times on here, dont get the fascination with Rosen. His film doesnt lie he is inaccurate and doesnt win football games. Lots of excuses for this kid. 9 for 23 says it all.
  23. Mason Rudolph and Baker Mayfield were my favorites going into the season and they both showed out huge in week 1. Darnold is a tough on to figure out huge wind up like Byron Leftwich but he is a winner. Josh Allen has amazing arm talent some of the best Ive ever seen. Just not sure he is a legit NFL Qb. Think Rosen is 100% hype. His tape is about as average as they come, dont get the Rodgers comparisons with sub 60% completion percentage.
