  1. Screw this choke artist team. Find new and creative ways to lose week in and week out. They can all be cut for all I care.
  2. This game was already rough to watch, but losing Peterman & Benjamin to today is just abysmal.
  3. He's has had a couple of good streaks in the past... He's just not consistent, and he's definitely NOT dominant. He also wasn't worth getting bent out of shape over. His rookie season he had a 7 game stretch averaging 5 receptions, 80 yards and had 5 total TDs. In 2015 he had a 6 game stretch where he averaged 6 receptions, 113 yards, and 1 TD. However, in 2016 he only had two games with 80 yards or more, while he averaged only 24.5 yards a game for the other 6. The guy is always "ready to break out" but then never does. He's good for a couple games a year to the point where you think "man, this guy really has talent!" only to disappear for games at a time. He may have 4 TD's in 5 games, but that's to be expected. With 4 games left, he'll probably end up tying his record of 9 for the season if he plays well. He's still going to finish well under his average for receptions and yards, while having a better QB and playing in better weather. He's averaging 17 yards a reception, but that's only 1 yard higher than his regular 16.0 average. Sammy wasn't a big loss.
  4. Nailed it on the head again. Interesting, Gurley has the same amount of receptions as McCoy, only he averages 11.7 yards per reception as opposed to 6.3, AND the Rams have their other top 2 leaders in receptions with 47 & 51 receptions respectively. We have 57 receptions to TE's (25%), 77 to RBs (35%), and 91 to WR's (40%)....In comparison, the Rams have 39 to TE's (16%), 53 to RBs (21%) and 155 to WR's (63%)... See what a good QB can do? We throw to RB's or TE's for 60% of our completions, whereas they only throw to their RB's & TE's for 37% of their completions. They are Tyrod's PRIMARY focus whereas good teams use them as secondary targets or outlet passes. Woods & Watkins have the benefit of a very good QB spreading the ball out, where our WR's have the benefit of being ignored most games. Even then, they are far from "dominant." If anything it shows we made a good move in getting rid of Watkins. He only had a year left, was going to demand big money, probably wanted to play elsewhere, was injured the past 2 seasons, and his production was limited. He averages 17.0yards a reception because he's his most useful in deep routes. Tyrod threw to him deep, now Goff is. He averaged 16.0 yards a reception with the Bills too.
  5. Except half the league is loaded up on painkillers since the league won't let them smoke a bowl lol. Combining alcohol with all those pills can't be good.
  6. "Dominant" is a word being thrown around easily these days... I guess Tyrod Taylor is "dominant" too... I mean Sammy has games where he goes for 67 yards, just like Tyrod does!
  7. But OU has some big dudes on their line, and he still remains a pocket QB first & foremost. Unlike Tyrod who is 6'1 according to the official NFL profile page but looks 5'8 behind his line, Mayfield actually looks like he belongs with the group and has good field vision. Who knows though... I could be completely wrong, but I like what I see from Mayfield. If he kills it in their playoff game, then wins a National Championship (I doubt it, but still), I'd find it hard to look past him for anyone.
  8. Players will be players. If White is out an extended period, they'll remember. Throw in the frustration of a blowout, or Gronk getting physical with them throughout the game, I can easily see someone going after him. I guess we'll see.
  9. But that could be said of a lot of coaches... Jeff Fisher, Marvin Lewis, Bruce Arians, Rex Ryan, Jason Garrett, etc... Many of them lose quite a bit of games, so it'll take a long *** time to surpass those numbers with wins.
  10. ^This 100% Every year that goes by, the drafts look worse & worse as more players wash out of the league or end up further down the depth chart. The team is already souring on Washington, so look for him to begin that slide soon. Cyrus Kouandijo won't be in the league in another year or so either. Kevon Seymour has 16 tackles & 3 defended passes on the year, with goose eggs across the board elsewhere. Expect him to be training camp depth next year, then cut. Crockell is not a starter, he's a 2nd string CB & 3rd on the depth chart for the Giants (behind Brandon Dixon & Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie). So yes, for starters we have some players from last year's draft as starters, a few backups, and 3rd stringers or practice squad players. By next year there will be even less. These drafts have been total busts.
  11. I think all this does is encourage retaliation next match. Does the NFL not realize we play them again in a couple weeks? Just like Crabtree held a grudge against Talib, expect some Bills players to hold a grudge on Gronk. Hell, there might even be someone who wants to start the game off trying to go after him. Not smart by the league.
  12. I like you. Haven't been on the boards too long, but you seem to say a lot of what I'm thinking lol
  13. Neither Sammy, nor Woods (and definitely not Goodwin) have been dominant. Here's the problem with your assertion as well, Watkins was gone in a year, and Woods was already a FA. We were in cap hell due to Whaley, so throwing the kind of money Woods got at him would've been ASININE. Cordy Glenn is rated #44 best tackle in the league by PFF, which is NOT deserving of such a massive contract. Being above-average-good does not mean pay at an elite level! Yes, getting rid of all talented players is a bad idea. But we took in a lot of good players too. Our secondary is actually improved over last year even without a single returning starter. Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer are both consistently ranked highly as well as EJ Gaines & Tre'Davious White. Kelvin Benjamin hasn't had much time here, but he's also a great player. Whaley trading away a 1st to get Watkins in a draft loaded with WRs, many better than him, was idiotic. And people acting like you need a specific type of receiver to work with Tyrod are just ridiculous. A good receiver is a good receiver! If you think Tyrod needs WRs tailored to him, that shows how bad he is! Can they run routes? Can they catch? How's their size & catch radius? Are they good on those fronts? Then Tyrod SHOULD be able to get them the ball! And with Gilmore - again, do you realize the cap position we were in? How could we pay for a contract like the Patriots did with our situation? He didn't want to be here anyway, what were we supposed to do? Dareus was getting paid higher than most QB's and was one of the highest paid defensive players in the entire league, and had missed multiple games each year! It's like you think every player just wanted to be here, would take far less to stay here, and that the salary cap didn't apply to us...
  14. http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/260353/whats-next-for-nfl-teams-out-of-playoff-race In this article discussing where it has gone wrong for NFL teams out of the playoff race (or about to be), Rodak discusses our offensive & defensive struggles, the latter of which he attributes a lot to the offense (and Tyrod specifically) and then follows up on what needs to happen next. To the question on if a coaching change is the answer, he writes: "Not a chance. McDermott will be given two years at a minimum to turn things around in Buffalo and most likely longer. McDermott is the third coach who has worked under owners Terry and Kim Pegula since they bought the team in 2014. Turning to a fourth coach in five seasons would work against the message of continuity and long-term building that ownership has stressed." He continues in a more detail about why it won't happen, and I completely agree. What coach worth his salt would want to come here after the history previous coaches have had with this ownership? And with expectations to end an 18 year playoff drought on top of that? Heck no! In regards to the defensive struggles, this is something many on here have been trying to explain but too many people ignore it. " It is fair to pin some of the blame for the defense's struggles on an offense that often has failed to stay on the field. The Bills have the NFL's second-worst offensive time of possession and the sixth-worst starting field position for their defense. The problems can be traced to quarterback Tyrod Taylor and the passing game, which has averaged 174.4 yards per game -- third worst in the league." The defense has been far & away the main reason we've won ANY games this season. To try and defend Tyrod in those losses saying "can Tyrod stop the run?" or "can Tyrod play corner?" while then trying to pile on is just deflecting. Even the best teams face opponents that score on them, but they're expected to respond offensively to do their part. Even in the games we lost, the defense made several stops, but the offense responds with a quick 3 & out. How demoralizing is that to you as a unit when you've fought tooth & nail to finally get off the field, only to be sent right back out before you can even catch your breath? Is the defense really expected to gift the offense 3+ turnovers a game & amazing field position on every drive for us to even be competitive? Anyway...take a look at the Bills section of the article. For once I agree completely with Rodak. Keep McDermott, draft a QB, continue revamping what you inherited with the last regime and move on.
  15. Although Glenn is good, his contract is enormous for a guy who is often hurt. 5 years, $60 million salary? $12 million a year is a LOT for a good but not great, injury-prone player.
  16. But he's had 800+ yards every season until he had Tyrod throwing to him, and even in those 3 prior seasons he didn't have great QB play to support those numbers. Every season he had 100+ targets, while this season he's had a whopping 36.... I'm sure there'd be plenty of interest, but I also doubt he'd go back to Philly. I think the Bills will take a shot a resigning him.
  17. I'm all for doing what you got to do to select YOUR guy. Say the next Aaron Rodgers was available (or the guy you think is going to be the next Aaron Rodgers), you could justify trading any number of picks to move up & select the guy. If you need to send both 1st round picks this year, and some picks next year, so be it. Obviously you have to save some draft picks for supporting this QB and filling out the rest of the team, but hitting on a QB could turn around the fate of your franchise for years to come.
  18. Wow... I'd just like one season where the Bills aren't consistently losing their best players...
  19. Not just our two best corners, didn't we lose the entire starting secondary?
  20. Most of the media doesn't watch our games or pay attention to our struggles over the past decade+ It's painfully obvious when they try to talk about Bills news stories that get any national attention. They throw their 2 cents in and try to sound like they have an informed opinion, when in reality they just hear what one person says, read some stat lines & box scores, then create an echo chamber regurgitating whatever each other said. Even though Peterman was awful in the Chargers game, leading up to that point they acted as if Tyrod had been Peyton Manning for us, and we committed some unforgivable sin. They also completely ignored that we'd seen this all before (the 5-2 starts that collapse from that point) several times, and were in the midst of a 3 game losing streak in embarrassing fashion, it was looking to be coming to fruition yet again.
  21. Exactly! This is what people need to understand. These offensive coordinators are working with some pretty hot garbage when they come here, and they sugar coat it to the fans and media by saying they're running a "run-first" offense as if it's by choice. We run to try to cover up our deficiencies at the QB position. Sometimes the play calling appears weak because they're trying to figure out different ways to run the ball over & over & over until they find a weakness. Almost every team in the league with a bad QB says they're trying to win with defense & running the ball. It's not a coincidence. Looking at the teams leading their divisions, which ones are "run-first" teams trying to pound the ball the majority of the time, who only pass when necessary? Rams? They have Gurley, but he's not the focal point anymore. He's the beneficiary of a suddenly good passing game. He has 939 yards, 4.2 ypc, & 8 TD's on the year already, up from 885 yards, 3.2 ypc, & 6 TDs all of last year. The Saints? Their run game has certainly stepped up, but they're a very balanced team. Brees already has 1,200 more yards passing than Tyrod, while their run game is benefiting tremendously. Even the Steelers with Bell rely on the pass just as much, if not more than the run game. A good QB would actually help our run game a TON, as well as the obvious in improving our 30th ranked passing game.
  22. You're right, RB for sure. I figured WR since they want to keep playing the "surround our QB with more weapons!" game that they usually do every couple years as if that's the problem. We've also spent 1st or 2nd round picks on White, Darby, Gilmore, and McKelvin in recent years, so sure, why not another lol
  23. He Macho Man elbow dropped a defenseless player and injured him. That's why.
  24. Then we take a WR and a small LB with the picks instead, and everybody riots.
  25. Also want to point out comments like these are straight up lies. People ALWAYS say dumb stuff like this, and it's never true. If you're 0-12, you would not be sitting here saying anything different than what you're saying now. It's easy to say that, because guess what? We're not 0-12, and there's no way to back up your claims! I'm sure the Browns fans are thinking the same thing, oh wait.... I'm positive though that if they only lost the games the right way (whatever that is), you'd love the coach right? If a team is 0-12, what in the heck could they be doing so much more right than McDermott? If you point to a team that drafted a franchise QB who struggled in their first year but did great their second, don't bother. That doesn't apply here. We don't have a franchise QB. There's no Peyton Manning or Troy Aikman or even a Jared Goff (lol) on the roster that is taking their licks before they turn it all around. So please, what 0-12 team lost in an acceptable way to you that lead to a good plan for the future?
