  1. Even with all these picks, I'm still scared these guys don't know how to evaluate talent. If they think Tyrod is a good QB while passing on guys like Watson, it makes you wonder what will be different next year.... And remember the previous draft, how everyone said Goff & Wentz were taken too high because it was a terrible QB class? "Wait until next draft!" was repeated over & over. Then this year, same thing "Bad QB class, wait until next year!" Now, the consensus has changed once more, as people are saying the QB's in this draft are "overrated" and to wait until next year AGAIN. Fans (which includes me), seem to always dismiss each draft's QB's year in and year out. Guys like Russell Wilson & Prescott get drafted later, and even Derek Carr get skipped over by "professionals."
  2. I've never "hated" Tyrod. I wish him nothing but the best. I hope week in and week out he'll recognize his mistakes and at least TRY to make some plays. But time & time again he shows who he cannot change. No matter how far we fall behind, he won't even attempt to throw beyond the 1st down marker on 3rd and long. How many times can he walk to the sideline after going 3 & out and not think "man, I should've at least tried to get a 1st down"? I rather risk turnovers than see the offense trotted out for 3 plays, go nowhere, and punt... He's a nice guy, I hope he's successful in every aspect of his life, and would thank him for simply being a Bill. Outside of that, he's not a good NFL QB, and we need to move on. I have no fantasies that Peterman is suddenly going to lead us to victory, but we're not going to win many more games, if any (unless it's against the Dolphins) for the remainder of the year, so better to see what we have now going into the draft.
  3. Bingo! And most of the time in great field position. People also seem to forget that even with those turnovers, we often did next to nothing with them. We'd fail to get a first down even once, but be in FG range. When the defense gave us a turnover in our own territory, we punted. If the defense didn't score themselves on a return, the offense rarely scored a TD off of it. Teams now realize our offense won't ever move the ball, so simply avoid turnovers and they'll cruise to an easy win.
  4. I know! He wasn't allowed to pad out his stats making his box results look far more accurate in comparison to his actual play. Tyrod has officially taken the mantle of Colonel Checkdown. He easily outranks Captain Checkdown Trent at this point.
  5. LOL in just a few minutes of game time, Peterman had nearly as many completions, more yards, and a TD. 7/10 passing for 79 yards compared to 9/18 passing for 56 yards. Garbage time or not, that's miserable that a starting QB in the NFL is THAT awful.
  6. Hell, look at someone like Russell Wilson, who has 24 career game winning drives, and in the last 3 years (since Tyrod has been playing) has 9. We're talking being behind, but having only 1 more chance to win the game. All the pressure in the world, and Wilson has 9 of those alone, while Tyrod has only won 3 games total out of 21 where we even fell behind by a single point PERIOD in the 4th quarter. Forget game-winning drives, just having the ABILITY to POTENTIALLY/MAYBE win a game with some adversity late in the game would be a massive improvement. But that's not how he's wired. Prescott, only drafted last year, has 6 game-winning drives. Even Trent Edwards managed 5 game-winning drives in his illustrious career. Out of 273 NFL QBs, Taylor is tied for DEAD LAST with a whopping 3 4th-quarter comebacks. He shares the honor with greats such as Kelly Holcomb, JP Losman, JaMarcus Russell, Heath Shuler, Blaine Gabbert and Todd Collins. QBs who haven't played nearly as long or had nearly the amount of opportunities Taylor has had yet still have more include Jameis Winston, Brock Osweiler, RG 3, Teddy Bridgewater, Dak Prescott, Marcus Mariota, Blake Bortles, etc. These guys aren't exactly world-beaters, and have piloted some pretty awful teams. But just sheer luck & odds, along with volume of opportunities should allow Tyrod more than freaking 3! Want to know some others who put him to shame, may with even less chances than him? Brian Hoyer (6), Sam Bradford (7), Kirk Cousins (8), Ryan Fitzpatrick (9), Mark Sanchez (10), Matt Schaub (11), Ryan Tannehill (12), Derek Carr (13), Andy Dalton (15), Joe Flacco (19), Jay Cutler (23).... And man, the names in between those are some pretty uninspiring players like Rex Grossman (7), Jason Campbell (7), Tim Tebow (6), Ty Detmer (5), Josh McCown (5), Billy Joe Tolliver (5), Kyle Orton (8), Josh Freeman (9), Tim Couch (10), John Skelton (6).... I mean, this shows you that even mediocre QBs, on crap teams, some with even less opportunities than Tyrod or are career journeymen/backups at least have proven more reliable in the 4th quarter than Taylor, who is an all-time historically bad QB when it matters.
  7. How many drives for negative yards, via dump passes, sacks & penalties do we need to see before people realize Tyrod does not have the confidence of this team. "Receivers aren't getting open!" They were open, and often, for the first half of this game. Saints were stacking the box, which left guys 1 on 1. We have big guys with good hands that could catch even semi-decent throws if they were within arm's reach. But that's too much to ask of Tyrod. If I was a WR, and I knew the best I could hope for was an overthrown pass or 2 and a bunch of run blocking, followed by sitting on the bench 90% of each game...yeah, I'd stop going all out every play too. At best you add 1 reception over a 3 hour game to your stats, at worst you get seriously injured. And we all know Tyrod doesn't audible and can't read defenses, so even if the opposing linemen said "Hey, we know you're going to dump off to Tolbert on 3rd & long," he'd still stare down Tolbert, and try to throw directly to him...either leading to a batted down ball, a tackle for a loss, or short gain. He's got no field awareness. "Clutch" is the exact opposite of Taylor.
  8. Also, does the defense make him throw behind the line on 3rd & long? Does the defense make him overthrow WR's? Does the defense make him dump off to RBs every pass? When over 90% of his completions are to RBs & TEs on check downs, does the defense make him do that? Does our defense make him short, leading to multiple balls batted down at the line each game? Does our defense make him stare down his primary WR the entire play? Does our defense make him lead the league in 3 & outs? Over 3 years as a starter, why does he have a 3-17 record (about to be 3-18) when we fall behind at ANY point in the 4th quarter? Does our defense make it so he can't lead even ONE 1st Quarter TD drive through 10 weeks? Watch, he'll get some garbage time stats, bump up his completion percentage a bit, maybe even get a late TD, and you guys will point to his "efficiency" from his box stats. The only reason we had ANY wins this season is BECAUSE OF THE DEFENSE gifting Tyrod & the offense a league-leading amount of turnovers. Do you even pay attention to what happens with those turnovers? Half the time, we don't even get a single first down, but due to field position we're able to kick a FG. The rest of the time, we punt, and on the rarest of rare occasion, a TD. But overall, the offense is bailed out by the defense, and even then we go 3 & out on turnovers plenty. If the defense doesn't score themselves off the turnover, or give us great starting field position, the offense does NOTHING. And here we are now, seeing what happens when the defense doesn't give the offense multiple extra chances per game, setting them up in prime field position. The offense does nothing on their own. Even when we KNOW coming into the game opposing defenses are going to stack the box, leaving receivers 1 on 1, Tyrod still goes for the dump pass, guaranteeing we'll never move the ball.
  9. You're right, teams with no defense also can never score. Oh wait, they're not mutually exclusive!
  10. I genuinely feel sorry for the WRs on our team, especially Benjamin. They spend so much time practicing each week, and then so much time on the field Sundays, just to never even touch the ball. We might as well put fullbacks & runningbacks at all skill position slots since Tyrod is incapable of throwing to anyone else.
  11. He has ONE completion to a WR, Benjamin, for the first pass of the game. From there, 6 completions to RB's, 2 to TE's, averaging 3.3 yards per completion. Yes, the defense sucks. But the offense goes 3 & out over and over and over and over again. Taylor overthrows targets that have clear separation and huge catch radius's over and over and over again. On 3rd & long, Taylor checks down and dumps off to the RB EVERY SINGLE TIME. What other "franchise" QB can't lead even ONE TD drive in the first quarter through week 10?! This offense hasn't scored a TD the entire f'n season in the 1st quarter. No franchise QB, and not even awful QB's, are that consistently bad they can't even luck out into a TD drive... Midway through the 3rd quarter, and your "franchise" QB doesn't even have 60 yards passing? He makes Trent Edwards look like Brett Favre the gun-slinger in comparison. In Bledsoe's first season, our defense wasn't stopping anything either, but we still stayed in games because the offense didn't go 3 & out repeatedly. You can have a horrible defense & still look semi-competitive in games. Taylor doesn't even have the motivation or drive to even ATTEMPT to get us out of a hole. We're 3-17 in games we're down at any point in the 4th quarter under Tyrod. He rather just get off the field on 3rd down than even risk getting a 1st down. Brees, a real franchise QB, time & time again converts on 3rd & long with ease. The WR's play for him and make fantastic catches even in coverage because they believe in him. Bills WRs are tired of getting laid out for horrible passes, and have no faith in him. This is just unacceptable in every single way.
  12. Yeah, can he please throw dump passes on 3rd and long more please? Can we go 3 & out more often please? Can he overthrow more WR's please?
  13. For another 7 yards short of the first down marker? How many f'ing times are you going to make excuses that Taylor doesn't even TRY to get a first down? Ever?
  14. LOL and speak of the devil, 3 & 12 and Tyrod throws a dump pass over the middle for 4 yards which gets juggled & picked off. Scrub, no-desire to win QB. He has no instinct to WIN, and lacks the drive to even TRY to put the team on his shoulders. No football IQ at all... When you're consistently 3rd and long, why do you throw 6 or more yards behind the 1st down marker every single friggin time?!
  15. He has no desire to risk turnovers, so on 3rd & 13, he'll always check down or throw behind the LoS. With Benjamin, Clay and Matthews, Tyrod has people with big catch radius's to throw to, but even still he'll lob it behind them or way over them. Otherwise expect Tolbert & McCoy to catch a bunch of passes for no gain.
  16. A QB that can see over the line, and every other pick be either a d-linemen or o-linemen is what we need in the draft. Keep Incognito & Hughes, with Woods as a reserve. That's it. Scrap everyone else on these lines.
  17. It's disgusting watching this team. Everything from the terrible offense to the defense that can't defend a pass or tackle is just revolting to watch. I'm sure everyone would love to say "Dareus wouldn't have helped, get over it!" but watching how bad this team plays says otherwise.
  18. The thing is boxing (and similarly the NFL) are both more detrimental & injury prone than MMA/UFC regardless of how it looks. I feel like it should be stated again, but CTE isn't predominantly caused by concussions, rather it's caused by REPEATED smaller blows to the head that consistently rock the brain back & forth into impacting the skull. This builds up damage over time and is HIGHLY dangerous. CTE is more widely found and more severity in players like linemen, who every single play collide. Do they get concussions when they hit? No. But lining up 1 v 1 with the guy across from you, slamming helmets into each other causes the brain to impact the skull time & time again throughout the entire game. Just like boxing, where you eat hundreds of jabs and smaller shots, some flush to the face & some not, round after round after round. Your brain doesn't have a cushion for these impacts, so it constantly collides with the skull creating so so much damage. Also, in boxing if a person gets knocked down, they are then given 10 seconds to get back up & rejoin the fight. If you took punishment to the brain that causes you to lose your faculties and fall on your ***, see double vision & stars, and walk around in haze, your brain has already suffered tremendously. Allowing boxers to then stand back up, and take further punishment exponentially destroys the brain. The fact they're allowed to do this several times in a match just makes it all that much more dangerous. Your bruised brain is just getting smashed left & right AFTER already suffering massive damage. And that's why MMA is usually safer from a long term perspective on your health. If you get knocked out, the ref jumps in to block off further punishment. If you just get knocked down and aren't defending yourself, the ref jumps in. And although some fights drag out, most fighters are far more careful when throwing punches due to smaller gloves. There are only three, 5 minute rounds (or in championship matches, five rounds), and although they throw FAAAAR less strikes than an average boxing round which is only 3 minutes. So they throw far fewer strikes, land far less strikes, even though their rounds are almost twice as long. Coupled with that, you have only a few rounds as opposed to 12 in boxing. Finally, as we all know, boxing is ONLY punching, and only from the waist up. So the target for these strikes is the head or body 100% of the time, with most fighters targeting the head for the majority of their strikes. In MMA, strikes include kicks to the opponent's legs, which makes up a large portion of the shots taken, while many fights focus on grappling, submissions and wrestling. When you're submitted via arm bar, rear naked choke, kimura, etc. you aren't risking severe brain trauma. When an entire match has only 50 strikes landed, 2/3 being kicks to the legs & body, you again minimize potential brain injury. In a flash knockout (like Conor McGregor vs Jose Aldo), you aren't letting the combatant take 200-300 shots to the head over 36 minutes. When someone's eyes roll back in their head and are no longer defending themselves, the ref doesn't sit there and let the fighter regain composure, situate themselves, then throw them back into the fight to take further brain punishment. So even though that's a lot, it's smart to remember the majority of damage from CTE is caused by smaller, repeated impact to the head, not just concussions.
  19. No guys! We shouldn't go after a QB who's been on IR and coming off surgery! Remember how smart it was to dismiss Drew Brees? If Luck because available, we should ignore him. We wouldn't want to be stuck with someone like that.
  20. Probably not much. He'll get open, sure, but Tyrod won't see him & dump the ball off to the RB on 3rd & 8 time and time again. Occasionally he'll chunk up a deep pass in his general direction, but it'll sail over his head by 10 feet, and the announcers will chalk it up to them not having chemistry yet.
  21. Given our history, I'd be SHOCKED if we win 9, let alone 10, including sweeping the Dolphins. The Dolphins have been just good enough to get by teams in weird ways, and we all know the Bills find plenty of weird ways to lose. The Chargers also aren't as bad as their record looks. Given the Bills have lost both games this season they were unanimously picked to win (Bengals & Jets, 2 teams with losing records), it's very likely they could lose against them as well. We tend to lose the "gimmie" games, the ones fans look ahead on the schedule at and circle a it as a win well in advance, and good teams easily win. The Colts might be so bad that even the Bills walk over them though. So I can see a win vs Colts, a split with the Dolphins, and 50/50 on the Chargers. But even if we beat the Chargers, that's only 3 wins, so 8-8. However, that at least shows some progress over last season, along with hope for the future when factoring in all our draft picks, a new number 1 WR for the future, an improved defense and solid special teams. If we can improve the O-line & D-line, add some depth in the secondary, and draft a true QB prospect, 2018 will look really good going into the season.
  22. I've been yelling this to anyone who would listen, this offense is so bad! I wouldn't be surprised if we only win a single game from this point on. Expecting the defense to get you 3 extra turnovers per game, many starting in opposing territory, isn't a way to win consistently. When the defense gets turnovers in our territory, the offense goes 3 & out. When they get them in opposing territory, we usually don't even get a single first down but are at least in FG range. On a rare occasion we score a TD, but again, it's rare. We were 2nd in the league in 3 & outs, and people have the nerve to say "that doesn't matter." Yes, yes it frickin does. When people say "passing yards don't matter! It's because Tyrod doesn't average many passes per game!" You know why he doesn't average many pass attempts per game? Because he doesn't get first downs, going 3 & out! If the offense converted more on 3rd down, he'd have more passing attempts by virtue of being on the damn field still!
  23. We live and die by turnovers. When we don't give the offense multiple extra chances to score, half the time beginning in opponent's territory, we can't win. Our offense needs far more opportunities to score than the average team. We go 3 & out way too often, and can't flip filed position unless the defense gifts us a new drive.
  24. Don't worry, according to this board 3 & outs don't matter. It's a pointless stat that doesn't reflect how good or bad an offense is, even though we're second in the league in 3 & outs.
  25. When the turnovers dry up, we suck. Everyone throws for 300 yards against us. We go backwards at least 1 out of every 2 plays. Our offense sucks a$$
